I think it's disappointing to know dat president buhari line of thinking is still very limited. Free trade agreement which NIgeria was essential to its development is specifically created to encourage Africa's self sustainability economically, socially and politically. In my view it would help curb a lot of challenges I. e poverty, limited education, migration issues, cultural and language barriers. With all this in mind president buhari has had sufficient time since it was first suggested 3yrs ago to handle internal challenges, it is clear the oligarch in Nigeria who want to exclusively maintain economic opportunities within Africa and reduce such opportunities to the average Nigerians have influenced President Buhari position on the issue. 1 Like |

There is also the one belt, one road initiative which China has introduced to several African countries I. e Kenya. South Africa. Rwanda, Angola. This is designed to encourage infrastructural development within Africa to effectively trade with Asia through Mongolia, Russia, Afghanistan and several other countries. As usual NIgeria has great potentials but poor leadership. |

fano252003:what is Nigeria benefiting from ecowas free trade deal? AU free trade deal will only end up bring more people into Nigeria that is Lagos without control. Nigeria doesn't have the manpower to control population or keep data |

As usual people are only looking at the challenges not solutions. Automatically with the human resources available in Nigeria's manufacturing industries, most of this internal issues would be resolved. |

Flets: How will they go out of business? What kind of an economic strategist are you by the way? It would open more gorund foe more of nigeria produce to be sold and delivered to oyhe African countries easily. It would reduce cost and dependency of a single market system. It would on the future alienate the dependency of European products and far more unite the African community. Soon traveling to other African countries might be visa free 1 Like |

Had it been he didn't à give à shee we would still be in recession, he would not encourage us to grow what we eat, he would not support the reviving of the fertilizer blending plants nationwide, He would not complete the railways left uncompleted and sign for the building of new tracks He would not invest massively in rehabilitation of the federal roads, Bros think positive of your country for once. sambos994: 1 Like |

Flets: You are right my brother, if we sign the free trade all those small countries will see Nigeria as a dumping ground ,bring in their goods as many as possible, that means Nigeria won't. be able to tax their goods again.I don't support Nigeria to sign Free trade |

monlawal: Keep on dwelling in your delusions. I dont know why you keep lying for the sake of Buhari. Our roads are s**t, electricity no dey, fuel expensive, entire villages are being wiped out, Boko Haram are now heroes, health care is non existent in this country, police brutality all over the country, and people are losing lives just so cows can chop some grass. But you want me to be positive about this country because buhari fixed a couple of railroads and wants to me to fvcking farm? I swears Nigerians deserve everything that happens to us. Fvck your positivity and fvck you. 1 Like |

KingGBsky: You really didn’t need to ask which kind of economic strategist I was...... you could only make your point and move on Am sure you don’t need a lecture on this. The Nigerian manufacturing industry is yet to meet the need of the Nigerian market much more other markets. It’s common sense that a product manufactured with power cost of $0.05/Kw in Ghana will b cheaper than similar product manufactured with $0.3/kWh in Nigeria. It’s only a matter of time before Nigeria gets flooded with cheaper alternatives that will kill local manufacturing. In this trade deal, Nigeria is the target market for other African countries. Until we fix the power sector, we have no edge getting Into that deal. If you still don’t get it at this point, maybe I cannot be of help. |

Flets: Yea power sector that I did not put into recognition. But still it will not distabilise our market value. I believe its a very good step forward for the African community. Anything that will keep us from the beck and call of the European nations is welcomed. 1 Like |

Enice:I never indicated I hate president buhari as an individual, I honestly think he has good intentions for NIgeria but the functional effectiveness of this govt is nt good enough. Objections by NLC nd MAN are circumstances of our lack of preparation .I don't see any reason why NIgeria should not be adequately prepared. Let nt forget intra African trade only accounts for a low percentage of our GDP. We have spent more money than most African countries on infrastructure yet value addition in our manufacturing industry is hindered by poor infrastructure, low energy output and poor development of human capital. The govt should take responsibility for our lack of preparation. Were is the so called diversification of the economy . Open ur eyes nd stop making excuses. NIgeria is being left behind by other African Nations. |

Abuude:like I said earlier don't pass judgement on issues unless you have all the facts. You can insult the man if you want but don't act as if you where part of the team that negotiated the treaty. You talk about lack of preparedness but I tell you, Nigeria is more prepared than 90% of African countries. But we have concerns. Just like the US will Not want Mexico, China, and other countries to dump goods on its soil. 1 Like |
