People and shutting someone up ehn. Allow people to be pissed off with what they want to be pissed off about. Businesses were disrupted today. Not everyone got a holiday. Some turned back on the road cos the roads were blocked. If you had a normal day, it doesn't make some else's rant invalid. I had a swell time sleeping at home today. Hubby went to work and got there very late cos he couldn't pass some roads. But will I tell someone to stop complaining because I had a good day? Nope! Abeg make we chill and waka pass sometimes.
Nobody should quote me this night. I slept very well, I have plenty strength for y'all angry

I am also interested in the North Cyprus PCC links o

My brothers on this forum looking for a way out of the Cyprus PCC problem, kindly share when you finally find a way through.

I ran into a friend yesterday, who I thought was in the UK for years only for him to tell me that his UK plans fell through and then he landed in Cyprus. I later found out that he's also been in the EE pool too. He had been refused once and declined ITA due to difficulty in obtaining this same PCC. When I asked, he said he sent details/proof of his efforts in trying to obtain one (I can't tell how sufficient they were anyway).

I'll ask him to make more efforts and receive responses, whether positive or negative before submitting again. I think the first was refused because he sent only his communication without any responses to show that the PCC couldn't be obtained from diaspora. I pray that you guys find a way out but please keep us up to date.

Good Friday morning

Saw it yesterday, I hope our folks in the other Room got Invite. But this is unprecedented.

It was for people who have job offers in Ontario and those with a French language test score of CLB 7 and above. Not for everyone.

Good Friday morning

I think it’s high time people staged a peace protest to the embassy in Nigeria. I learnt obtaining a visa to visit the country to obtain the PCC is even difficult, as visas are only granted to invited applicants- students, conference etc

Thanks for this...but to the best of my knowledge they don't have a branch in my location...I'm in Benin City

Alliance Français is your best bet and they don't have online courses. Not sure you can learn French up to B2 (tef level) without physical contact.

Fuzzyman:

Use duolingo on your PC, it has lessons on grammar, proper writing tests unlike the app on the phone.
There's also duolingo stories, also on PC. It is not basic at all. Its legit.
Watch french short films on youtube. I want to write an exam in December myself. Best of luck

Good morning ma'am grin

I'm back again, I hope you remember me

The guy you helped to calculate his age and points

I scored 66/100,i would be 24 by September would it

increase my points to 67,you calculated it with my age at 23, no masters, just my BSc certificate and 1yr nysc

teaching experience would be through by October.

Finally, I like to ask, does this process need a block account? like a certain amount in my account.

Thank you and gracias.

Then my next best advice is take a vacation and go for intensive immersion classes at French village badagry or even for a course in Cotonou.

Otherwise private tutor things... Maybe a lecturer at UNIBEN or a very good final year student. They should teach you using tef curriculum.

sincerely though, can you imagine taking ielts based on if you start to learn English now? And even the French say English is easier than their language... But I won't be a naysayer, nothing in life is actually impossible.

No i was not, learnt french from childhood on and off , including two months at alliance francais Yaba. I made the most progress when i took it as a volunteer course at uni for 18 months. Duolingo has helped me get back to that level which is post beginner/ lower intermediate. The short videos and going on online forums will really help. Thanks for wishing me luck.

Do you want to live in montreal? I'm seriously considering it
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by dane15: 10:13am On Mar 30, 2018
I think candidates with low points should be encouraged to write TEF.

There are quite a number of benefits:
1. Consider this scenario where a 44 year old PA with 3 years work experience and a wife who wrote IELTS. Both of them made the minimum required score of L,S,W,R:8,7,7,7. CRS score-336.

Immediately the PA takes TEF, the CRS score increases to 378 just by "passing the TEF averagely with a band of 5/8".
L,S,W,R:249,310,310,207. I believe this can be achieved with 6 months of determined practice.
Maximum score would give additional 52 points in this scenario.

So the question is what would you do for an additional 32 CRS points? Alliance Francaise in PH will charge about 120k for the exam.

2. From my discussions with friends and family in Canada, knowledge of French does not necessarily give you an advantage over others but then, when you consider the rate at which immigrants are moving to Canada, you will realize that it is only a matter of time before the competition starts to heat up. French may give you some advantages. I have started seeing bilingual requirements on some of their job sites already.

Conclusion: Stop languishing on that sub-400 score when you can catapult yourself into your dreams. I rest my case.

Is there really any point learning French? It’s just 1 province that speaks french. Or Does being bilingual make you employed faster?
This is very important please someone should respond.

Happy Easter All,

I have a friend who would like to start EE but there is an issue and that is finance. He is not working at the moment but has masters and 3 years experience.
He has a wife and child.
Now his wife has only B.Sc and one year experience. But the wife's family is rich and can help them out with POF. However, they will only give the money directly to the wife and not him.

If the wife gets the money from her parents and he decides to use his wife's account for POF, will the wife get a gift deed from her parents even though she is not the PA but just that her account is being used by the accompanying spouse?
if she transfers it to the husbands account to use for POF will she also provide a gift deed to show the origin of the money? what will be the best option here.

For sub-400 applicants only.

How to improve your CRS scores.

1. Sibling who is a Canadian Citizen/PR: 15 points

2. French: Up to a maximum of 54 points (Up to 24 for second language ability; 15/30-point bonus for French speakers)

3. Complete skilled work experience in Canada: 180 points (80 for Canadian work alone; up to 100 within skills transferability)

4. Canadian Job offer: A job offer in a professional, managerial, or technical position-50 Points/Job offers for for highly skilled, experienced candidates in select occupations (NOC 00)-200 Points

5. PNP: 600 Points (Please visit the PNP thread for more information).

6. Spouse's Canadian Work Experience: Up to 10 points.

7. Spouse's Study: Up to 10 points.

8. Spouse's IELTS: Up to 20 points.

9. a. The PA can take study leave and do a 1 year Diploma in Canada: 15 points or 30 points for Msc in Canada.
Note that a 2 Year Msc in a Canadian School with a registered DLI number should ordinarily give you 2 years Post Graduate Work Permit in Canada during which you can sort out your Express Entry application. Your spouse should get a spouse open work permit based on your study permit when you apply. For more information on number 9, please visit the relevant threads on Canadian study and Spousal Open work permit.. Remember that when you work in the right NOC after graduation, you are also increasing your Canadian work experience points.

b. If you can't afford Msc in Canada, you can look for a local diploma with a reputable university that you can complete in 1 year. 2 or more degrees will boost your CRS score by about 32 points. If you can then get a Msc from say NOUN it will be 39 points!

10. You can switch your spouse as the PA and check who offers higher points.

For more information, see page zero and read through the whole thread.

From the information above, jumping from 300 to 400+ is as simple as A, B, C if you know what you are doing and how to do it.

I wish you all the very best.

Happy Easter!!!

Mr A is interested in immigrating to a new country but not ready to make the sacrifice. Colin Powell said, "A dream doesn't become a reality through magic. It takes sweat, determination, and hard work".

CIC's website is the authentic source of information about the whole process and it should be the blueprint that should guide us in this journey. Asking general, repeated questions shouldn't be encouraged. Yes, we can learn to ignore such questions but those kind of questions do make the thread become longer and even boring.

I don't support hurling insults on people but anyone who is ready to embark on this Canadian journey should be ready to make that great sacrifice (to read, read and read). I understand the fact that everyone is different and unique in their own way. Some people are blessed with research skills while some other people are used to getting things done in a hurry without doing any research. Some set of people want others to spoon-feed them (this shouldn't be encouraged).
