The point you brought on Ebuehi. I was surprised nobody brought that point.. There is also a psychological side just coming from an injury. I didn't want to join in on that argument.. on the whole Aina should have been brought in earlier. In fact before the friendly a few of us posited here that we needed to make lots of substitutions early enough.. Rohr didn't do that.

That's why I kept hammering that the body is not a machine and drawing them to their own experiences of recovering from illness or injury but they say once he's been declared fit then he must have been 100% fit. Declarations are sometimes not actualities. Seen it many times when man is guilty but declared innocent and vice versa.

Yes Rohr has the habit of being hesitant in making substitutions. I was shocked that over the two friendlies we made very poor substitutions in terms of timing.

I have had a ACL rebuild from playing football after a rupture in my left knee.

I know about Groin injuries and I know about recovery but I have never seen a manager play an unfit player when you have other options.

Ebuehi it seems after declaring himself fit became unfit on account of his poor game. Going by what has been said here. Unless we have official corroboration it us simply hearsay without any substance.

His mistakes were not about physicality but poor judgement and wring positioning. So I do not buy those propositions you make.

Bro have you had groin injury b4? If u did, tell me if you can heal any groin injury fully in 2 weeks, its a minimum of 6weeks b4 to be at your best again..

For ACL injury, that is at least 6months and that's if you do surgery!!! You can even go a whole year with ACL if not properly treated..and trust me when you come back you are never the same again ...ACL injury is one of the most career threatening injuries..I'm sure you don't play competitively again because of ACL injury..
.I'm so experienced with all this injuries, if anyone tell me they have this injury, I just tell them their minimum recovery time....experience like they say is the best teacher..

I think if we looked at the team's performance overtime, we would be able to come up with sound logical observations.. Else we'd be moving from one extreme judgement to the other as a result of varying match outcomes. Super Eagles have become a very bad team all of a sudden.. okay!

It's the extreme judgments that surprises me. He's not getting in on your sarcasm. From the same mouth you'd hear how wonderful the SE are, how they score goals, how solid the defence is, how sharp the attack. Then with a defeat the same person does a 360 and begins to condemn the team in extreme terms. Leaves me scratching my head.

Watch out tomorrow now if the SE plays just one match well you will hear all sort of praises.

That's why I often emphasis the need for balance. Criticize but don't forget that this team has a history, a history some here have fully participated in. For one person here nothing the team does is good enough. I don't read him no more. But what surprises me is the fans here doing a yoyo in their views.

They said he was declared fit so fit he must be. My brother said he must perform and fans don't really care.

I'm not a footballer but the moment I understood what the groin is I know that it's possible to find difficulty in match situations even after one has been declared fit. Rohr ought to have subbed him at half time.

If I were the coach I would have only played Ebuehi for 45mins and bring in Aina..Rohr really didn't help matters by not letting other players stake a claim..the worst part waS seeing mikel agu come in, we could have seen what Agbo offers the team ...

Well he is the coach, he gets paid the big bucks to select the players..

thank you o.....if Desserts as young as he is, cannot get an invite, it is now old man Aluko that Rohr will invite

We are in greater need of a striker than a midfielder or winger. If Rohr needs a winger, he can always revert to Onyekuru that he knows is capable. He doesn't need to dust up Aluko's CV
Let's be realistic. There's a 98% chance that Dessers will not be invited. I'm leaving 2% just because this is life where anything can happen. I'm not a gambler but I can bet on it that Dessers will not be invited.

That Sadiq Umar (whom I don't fancy) might even be invited. But on the whole I don't see Rohr inviting new players as such.

Mikel Agu has cast a spell on Rohr. Walahi. Agbo was in camp throughout the international break. Agu came in when the door was closed on Mikel Obi. But come match day who gets to play? Mikel Agu not Agbo.

When last did you watch Sadiq? The boy is developing very well. Too early for senior team call-up but i reckon, he won't do badly.

I reckon this world cup will not be too different from the last one from a Nigerian perspective. We never learn.
Calling for new players a "night" before the world cup.
Don't mind them. Very fickle. If not for additions to make a Mikel sub and one attacker and maybe Onyekuru this team is our WC team. Let them keep dreaming of players that will come from the moon to save us. We truly never learn.

Yeah he's been getting great reviews since he moved to NAC Breda. One slot up for grabs in the attack. He stands a far better chance than Dessers. He's in the picture of Nigerian football. Dessers is a total stranger.

I doubt there will be more than 2 more players added to the squad before the WC.. The team is already set... What they need now is blending.. I have no doubt that we will be fine.

Why haven't we even invited Gbolahan Salami who is banging in goals in Finland. What about Ogbeche. Our midfield is problematic yet we have the Rabius, Rabiu Alli and Mohammed. In fact Rabiu Alli has been a footballer before Iwobi was born. Very experienced. Not forgetting Gambo Mohammed, ex confeds cup player. This man in Ostende, Akpala is there too. Peter Utaka is still balling as well instead we are talking of Bresia or what's his name again.
if we need a player who is good with his head then fanando adi is the man no hype

But he's clearly taking risks with Agu. It's conservatism that killed German football before Klinsmann came and broke the ground, planted the seed which Leow watered and eventually reaped the fruits. Conservatism sometimes can be as a result of lack of ideas or lack of confidence. That's why I've never really been taken in by the talk that we are counter attacking team. Why can't we be an attacking team? Why sit back and wait to hit opponents on the counter?

We lack flair. That's why I was happy when in a flush of indiscipline Iwobi began to drift into the middle and do some jiggery-dribbery. It yielded no fruit but in that brief display he was saying 'see coach I can do this thing'.

Omaye .... Me I no dey your back for this one o!.. grin

Once declared fit for a match and you play, the jury is out on you.

The jury will careless about any lingering pains you might still have which can inhibit your game a little.

So even when declared fit when you know within yourself that you are not yet up to 100% fitness and running... Baba you will do yourself a world of good if you declare yourself unfit grin for the match so that your spot will be given to a fit player and save yourself from embarrassment while maintaining your dignity.

Just look at how many folks once hailing Ebuehi here are now calling for his head including Muah ... grin. All because according to you,' he isn't fit'.. Ebuehi was far below standard on the night, it could be due to recuperation.., it could be due to fitness, ...it could be due to ability... Heck! It could be due to one reason or the other BUT read my lips.... THE FANS DON'T CARE!!!... All we know is that Ebuehi was atrocious that night, his wing let in two goals, and we will not condone such a performance.. NEVER!!
Do you know Etebo wanted to play in this friendlies by all means? Look at the context na Bro. This players want to go to the WC ooo.

Do you remember back in primary or secondary school when the class is going on an excursion? The excitement, the expectation. Then fever comes knocking. My guy most children will do anything to fight that sickness just so they can go for the excursion.

WC is like excursion to footballers. Watch FIFA.tv.com and see clips of interviews with former players who went to previous WC as far as 1958 and you'd see the players talking with childlike joy, some of them are old but you'd see their eyes lit up with boyish delight. For many It never matters that their team never won the WC. What matters is that they are part of a great and global cultural/sporting event, part of a history making event.

That's the opportunity this guys are looking for too.

Begging chances you say?? huh??

Mark my words: any player from the past brought into this team close to the WC will fail. Obi struggled. He has time to adjust. Others will not.

That's why I say criticisms here lack balance. You will read something and you go just dey shake your head. How many begging chances has Odion missed? I'm not hooked on him but criticism should be fair. Our midfield failed in the friendlies. How then do we expect him to score? Where were the 'begging chances'? Even during the WCQ where were the begging chances?

Attackers don't come in the mould of the great strikers of the past who can dribble from the middle to the goal and score. George Weah, Ronaldo de Lima, Van Basten did that regularly but football has changed. Attackers don't do that anymore except Messi. Attackers now have to depend more on the midfield for services. Where the midfield fails, the attack will fail.
