Lol.... Sir Mujtahida... Calm down okay. It is normal to see reactionary calls like this just because of one loss. It is their season. Let them have their fun. Na just impromptu reactive mechanism. It will all die down with time. We that know the real deal of this situation keep calm and await the next international break and before that Rohr's provisional list of 30 or 35 aiit. For now let's focus on our boys' return to action in the European leagues okay.... Lol... It is well.

Meanwhile, outside the Super Eagles for just a bit, I just got news that more than 1 million voters in the Egyptian elections tampered (with) their ballots by crossing out both candidates and writing Mohamed Salah. This is damn serious! Could Salah one day run on this popularity and become Africa's second president who was an ex-footballer (that is if he dey interested sha... Lol)

Two or three new players is good enough. But why is nobody talking about Alhassan Muazzam the guy that plays for Austria Wien. Is he not an AM?

The coach and his technical crew should try not to tamper with the unity of this team;they started this journey together and it as been a success for the team so far. Those calling for the invitation of other players I say, it's too late for a trial. The coach should focus on developing this set of players thereby assessing their strength and weaknesses.

Thread has become like a market. One screams Aluko, another shouts Obagoal, another cries Dessers, another hoots Kalu, another belts out Adi. A welter of voices and calls. Tell me if you are a coach without a plan, without resolve you will follow the stream of confusing voices and when you fail the same people will blame you.

Just one match!
to be fair, the call for Dessers, did not come because of one match.

It has been on since the boy declared and it is justified as far as I'm concerned. It is not a pull a rabbit out of the hat call

consistent form of injury? undecided

Thank God Tbaba dropped Belgium's stats that put Dessers as the player with the highest conversion rate. I don't know what else you want to see.

Joel played 3 games after coming back from injury and that informed his call up. So much for that

the word mediocre has been abused on this thread.

Our players are hardly mediocre, and last I checked, the replacements we seek aren't a bunch of Hazards or Messis, so, I don't see why that term should be used to describe players that helped us qualify for the tournament and have given a good account of themselves so far

Rohr Comments On Performance of Super Eagles Fans Favorite Joel Obi & Iheanacho

Gernot Rohr has commented on the performance of Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho for the Super Eagles during the last international break of the 2017-2018 season.

Against Poland, Rohr deployed a 4-4-1-1 formation with Iheanacho playing behind top striker Odion Ighalo, and the German thinks the Foxes number eight and another left-footed player Joel Obi did well.

''I know my players, Kelechi is running so much and fighting for his starting place, it is very important that we have this competition, he is a left footer and we don’t have so many left footers,'' Rohr said to
Omasports.

''We also tried Joel Obi for the first time since I have been the coach of the Super Eagles.

''He is a left footer, we need some left footers in the team and he did well, Iheanacho also, he is fighting and pressing hard, he is able to score.''

Iheanacho was not in Nigeria's match day squad against Serbia on March 27 due to injury and will undergo a late fitness test before Leicester City's Premier League clash at Brighton.

On the other hand, Torino midfielder Joel Obi put his injury worries behind him and was named in the starting line-up in the two international friendlies.

Just as a compliment to Sir Tbaba1234's post on Dessers This is still Nigerian players monitor as always... whether he is WC bound or Not. wink

Belgian-Born Star Who Wants To Play For Super Eagles Is The Deadliest Striker In Holland

Belgian-born Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers has been ranked the most efficient striker in the Dutch Eredivisie after 28 matches in the division.
As reported by the statistics guru at OPTA, FC Utrecht striker Dessers has the best shot conversion rate this season in the Dutch topflight of all the strikers with five or more goals.

The 23-year-old's shot conversion rate stands at 32 percent and he placed first ahead of another Nigerian player, 2002 World Cup star Bartholomew Ogbeche, who turns out for Willem II.

Ogbeche has a shot conversion rate of 30 percent, while Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Paul Gladon is third with 24 percent.

Dessers has hit eight Eredivisie goals (3 assists) from 23 appearances and Ogbeche has tallied nine goals (1 assist) from 16 games.

Fran Sol (Willem II) and Thierry Ambrose (NAC Breda) complete the top five strikers with the best shot-conversion rate in the Netherlands.

Born in Leuven, Belgium, Dessers has said that he won't reject a call-up to the Super Eagles ahead of the 2018 World Cup, adding that his parents would be immensely proud of that decision.

Dessers told allnigeriasoccer.com : ''If I keep developing and performing there will come an opportunity one day.

''Of course, my mom and dad would be very proud if I could play for Nigeria.

''As a kid I was a fan of Okocha and Kanu, but there are a lot of good strikers in the past and now.''

Ex-Golden Eaglets, Flying Eagles Star Awoniyi Returns To Liverpool

Taiwo Awoniyi has to return to Premier League side Liverpool at the end of this season.
According to voetbalbelgie.be, Belgium First Division outfit Royal Excel Mouscron did not insert a purchase option into the loan deal that brought the former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star to the club last summer.

Liverpool cannot keep Awoniyi at Anfield next season as he is not yet eligible to play in England and they will have to discuss with clubs interested in the services of the Nigerian.

RSC Anderlecht, AA Gent and KRC Genk are rumored to be monitoring the situation of the striker with a view to signing him on loan next season.

Since joining the Reds in 2015, Awoniyi played on loan at FSV Frankfurt and NEC before joining Royal Excel Mouscron.

This season, the 20-year-old has scored 8 goals and notched 6 assists in 29 matches across all competitions.

That's just it
Mujtahida:

It's the extreme judgments that surprises me. He's not getting in on your sarcasm. From the same mouth you'd hear how wonderful the SE are, how they score goals, how solid the defence is, how sharp the attack. Then with a defeat the same person does a 360 and begins to condemn the team in extreme terms. Leaves me scratching my head.

Watch out tomorrow now if the SE plays just one match well you will hear all sort of praises.

That's why I often emphasis the need for balance. Criticize but don't forget that this team has a history, a history some here have fully participated in. For one person here nothing the team does is good enough. I don't read him no more. But what surprises me is the fans here doing a yoyo in their views.

Why can't Aluko and Dessers be classed together? They both haven't played any competitive game for GWG.

Aluko played 6times and got two goals. And he didn't play all minutes in those games. Why is he always overlooked? If you wanna tell me he ain't good enough, you'll need to try very very hard. It's like Rohrs is overlooking Championship players and that's not good.

Obi have played 11straight games for GWG and wasn't a goal threat atall in all of those straight games. In Total he has 14caps and still no goals. Not using goals to judge him, but you're making me do so.

So why not Aluko? why?

It's the English bias to some degree. When he pulled that record with fulham last season or so, epl teams didn't chase him like he did no big feat with the team. so he decided to stay put. Besides I don't mind where you ply your trade inasmuch as you are fatal and brutal and effective for the national team. And Aluko is a big exception cos he is seeing much regular play than Aina.

I think you are confused and you have confused Mr too . Or maybe your teenager and you are showing youthful exuberance. I find your post crazy humour.

Someone help how do I reply to this.

1. Because Aluko was not selected for the 3 Lions he's not good enough for Nigeria.

2. Why suggest Aluko a mediocre player according to you.

3. Trying to pass him down our throat.

4. I am devoid of objectivity and I am sentimentaly prejudiced.

5. I can not make similar remarks in England - I totally don't know what you mean here. Explain??!

I will leave others to respond to your propositions and determine what delusional imaginary misguided deductions they are anchored upon . Lol.

But I will say one thing, Aluko is 29 if he had the good fortune to have been born in Nigeria, he would be no more than 25.

Aluko was capped at youth level and selected for England U19 but jettisoned England and chose Nigeria to play U20.

I will drop a few links from authoritative bodies and you can decide if he's a MEDIOCRE player.

I liked the Argentina subs not because we eventually won, but because we learned a lot about the players after 90 minutes.. in fact if I were coach, before the start of the match I would say "most of you just have 45 mins to prove yourselves"
Mujtahida:

That's why I kept hammering that the body is not a machine and drawing them to their own experiences of recovering from illness or injury but they say once he's been declared fit then he must have been 100% fit. Declarations are sometimes not actualities. Seen it many times when man is guilty but declared innocent and vice versa.

Yes Rohr has the habit of being hesitant in making substitutions. I was shocked that over the two friendlies we made very poor substitutions in terms of timing.
