One Pastor tried this in Ikoyi some years ago... Hr will give them packaged jollof rice and Turkey later rice and fish till it got to only coke till nothing and the church turned out empty...

Keep quiet oga. Was it criticism that birthed the Christ Against Drug Abuse Min(CADAM). Just in this my area in Ojodu Berger there is a house for rehabilitating Drug Addicts. Fully funded by RCCG. And they've been doing that for long now. In fact they have other branches everywhere.

That Oyedepo that you folks talk about anyhow actively funds 15 NGOs in Nigeria apart from his own DOF. If this people tell you half of what they do you would be surprised.

Let them invest that money in our youths, it will be better, u cant survive by eating once in a week

A commendable initiative.

However, teaching them how to fish rather than giving them fish will feed more than their target of 2million people

Oga. Nobody is doing anything because of any criticism. Before the days of "criticisms", some of us had churches we go to because breakfast and lunch will be sure. . That was early school days though. Its not a new thing. That you're hearing now doesn't make it a novel initiative. Its been on for years.



As much as feeding people is nice, it is not the purpose of the church to share food. That's not what Jesus called the church to do. The PRIMARY purpose of the church, Apostles, Pastors, ministers is clearly spelt out.


Ephesians 4:11-14
[11]And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
[12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
[13]Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
[14]That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;




In fact, giving to meet the needs of poor or broke members of churches is to be done amongst members.

THE purpose of the church is solely Spiritual not material.
