Chidinho10: Sure, your opinion holds sway except for areas that it does not hold sway. The colloquial phrase for you is “Captain obvious”. The football team wins 100% in a game they score more goals than the other. Ground breaking Nobel prize intelligence right there. The same top school MBA that guarantees 6-figures is still hinged on the career path one chooses to have in spite of it all yet you still cannot see that your ab initio argument has been murdered by the same inanity that conjectured it. 3 Likes |

bigfrancis21:The figures you quoted above are wrong, Mr man. Check this link for a $150,000 monthly repayment plan and its not even up to half of the your quoted figures. Also remember most mba wages go up significantly after 5 years to above $250,000 per annum. There are stats to show this. See link for a Harvard MBA loan of $150,000 https://prodigyfinance.com/get-a-loan#loan-calculator

EMMAACHILE: Total cost of loan = $267,000, $67,000 higher than my initial estimate of $200,000. Thus, my initial figures were conservative. I never meant to discourage anybody, I just wanted you guys to understand what you are getting yourselves into. Goodluck 9 Likes |

abiolaadeleke: TAMUC is a good school. It is one of the campuses that belongs to the Texas A & M University network and they offer plenty of scholarships which qualify international students for in-state residency for tuition purposes. Tuition is also very affordable. I have a friend resuming there for Summer 2018. You have made a good choice of school. @bold...you may have to come up with a better answer for choosing TAMUC. The highlighted in bold will not fly at the embassy. You would need to focus on the school's reputation, your impression with the department's quality of research, etc. as your reasons for choosing the school. Goodluck 8 Likes 1 Share |

Chidinho10: Once someone has a dream there no telling the person otherwise so follow your dream.... maybe in ten years you look back and understand Top MBA is not bad for sure but you have to look at it in totality. I have loads of MBA friends who did the top 10 program . Most are naija , most were hungry for success and are doing very well no doubt . That been said it now 12 years post MBA for us, life has levelled off for a lot. I see some that went to regular MBA and are now at the level you would have expected the top MBA. Some of the top MBA started off with great offers but the recession of 07 /08 distabilise the career path . It all varies . I went to a regular program that my father could afford , finished with no student loan. Got an average offer but the hunger in my belle has made me continued the path to sucess . Sometimes it not the school but the hunger and God blessing your hands But what I can say is that the top MBA is not a predictor for future success. I can't explain it but it good for you to follow your passion so that in 10 years you can look back . 22 Likes |

LagosismyHome: Yeah I clearly understand your point. You're correct!! And I stated that a top MBA is better because it places one in close proximity to top firms that seek MBA talent. This is not to say that people that attend lower ranked schools cannot attain success (I never said that). Just that people that attend lower ranked MBAs will have to work harder than their counterparts in top ranked programs in order to join great firms. This is because specific companies like MBB, GS, JPM etc have target schools where they hire MBA talents from. A student not in these schools will have to network alot, make lots of trips to NYC and try to create a great impression during interviews. Anybody with a hard skin can do that and succeed Thanks alot. I'm a keen follower of your posts. They're very much informative!! 2 Likes |

Scholastica16: Oga, STFU!!! I can't imagine you typed all these rubbish without making a single point. All you do is pile your comments with loads of Magoosh and Barron's jargons you learnt from GRE prep. Unfortunately, none of them makes sense. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Nobody: 10:39am On Apr 03, 2018 |
Scholastica16: Chai!!!!! Nawao!!! Some people sha One of my replies to bigfrancis clearly states that reaping the fruits of an MBA depends on the career path you choose. As an MBA student from a top school, you have a plethora of career choices to follow. Your decision to earn lower than expected is a function of your interests, not a function of how bad the labor market is... Some people go to MBAs to become entrepreneurs (I don't really advise this), and they tend to earn lower after graduation. This is not because the market for hiring MBAs is bad, but because of the choices they make. One of my FB contacts even dropped from Stanford GSB to create his startup cos he knew he would have to take up a job to repay his loan before entering entrepreneurship (his dream career) Oga, if you have an issue with comprehension, please consult a medical practitioner. I can't be wasting my time hammering a simple point into your dead brain. From day 1, you sounded off!!! You clearly know nothing about MBA recruitment, yet you stuck your nose into what you don't know about. Abeg swerve! Na me dey waste my time argue with you self. |

EMMAACHILE: Baba free matter! He tried to sell his point by adding crooked stories everywhere (including adding a student loan story for someone that went to Belmont University on loan hahahaahah) One thing is certain. If you want top quality advice for MBA education, you have LinkedIn (hook up with current and graduated students) and forums like GMATclub, Wallstreetoasis and BTG where you can get top quality advice from people who have been there. You won't come to nairaland seeking advice from someone who hasn't even written a line of MBA application essay before. Every forum has its own uses (that's why I frown at people who come here seeking for students in their respective schools when they can easily use LinkedIn and get search results in seconds). So use them wisely. Learn and give back as appropriate. Wish you goodluck. 3 Likes |

good day house! I graduated 8yrs ago with second class upper and I want to go for my masters degree in US but a friend is advising me to use my b1b2 visa to travel look for school of nursing, seek admission and register with them ....then come back to Nigeria and apply for f1visa with my admission letter and ongoing school activities. ..that it is easier that way ...PLEASE I NEED YOUR ADVICE ..ITS URGENT |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by LagosismyHome(f): 1:00pm On Apr 03, 2018 |
chism440: All you require for admission is online so you don't have to first go with b1b2 just to gain admission Find a school, fulfil the requirement and then apply for student visa . However starting nursing after 8 years of BSC is not easy to convince a VO that you intend to come back. It is possible to get the visa but harder 1 Like |

Chidinho10: I shared a story because someone else made a senseless comment that you endorsed. You are the itchy-fingered lunatic that harped on my post to prove that you were certain about the facts in that post that you were endorsing. Now the same jumbo-sized dumbo turns around and starts going off about not knowing how MBA's are recruited and career paths. And my question to you is, if you knew that some MBA graduates could still end up being poor due to entrepreneurship etc why was that not your reply to the guy who said they can never be? And when I shared a story of a guy who was "poor" after the HBS MBA why was it initially incredible to you? The simple fact is, you wanted to make this post-MBA life larger than the reality on ground and my story was a stumbling block to you. The only reason you are threading caution now is that I have shown you how illogical your post was. So you are the one who needs to see someone for your neurosis. Were we not here when you said BigFrancis21 was jealous of MBA holders and now you have shaku shaku'ed into telling me I don't know about MBA recruitment. Abeg, what about any of my posts was addressing MBA recruitments? You see why they say "some of you are mad but have nobody to tell you?". You are welcome. 5 Likes
