Obasanjo Failed Woefully As President – Adebanjo by PenPrince07: 6:25am On Apr 04, 2018
Elder statesman Ayo Adebanjo has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s presidency, between 1999 and 2007, as a “tragedy” and a “calamity.”

Obasanjo had on Monday reiterated that President Muhammadu Buhari had failed Nigerians and as such should not be re-elected for a second term.

But in his autobiography titled Telling it as it is, which was presented in Lagos on Tuesday as part of activities to mark his 90th birthday, Adebanjo described Obasanjo’s reign as woeful.

“The man who carried on as if he was all-in-all failed woefully on all counts as President. His eight-year tenure (1999-2007) was a tragedy. His scorecard is nothing to write home about. What did he do in eight years? Before he came, we were buying fuel (petrol) for N20 per litre, and crude oil was $23 per barrel. In 2007, under his regime, we were buying fuel at N75 per litre, and crude oil was between $65 and $75 per barrel. In the worst days of Abacha, one dollar was over N120,” Adebanjo wrote.

He also accused Obasanjo of causing the collapse of the AD by picking the late Chief Bola Ige, a member of the AD, as a minister in 1999 against the wish of the party.

“As far as I am concerned, the moment Bola Ige joined Obasanjo’s government, following his (Bola Ige) loss of AD’s presidential primaries where he polled six votes against Chief Olu Falae’s 17, marked the beginning of the end for the party. In my opinion, these are the scenarios which led to the collapse of the AD,” he wrote.

Everybody knows that OBJ failed.

At least he didn't blame Abacha.

And he didn't reinforce failure.

But the dullard is making failure an honorable thing.

The way this article was written might confuse people into believing that Chief Ayo Adebanjo is taking sides in the battle between Obasanjo and Buhari.

Chief Ayo Adebanjo is critical of both of them. He is one of the biggest critics of the Buhari government.

OBJ failed, yaradua didn't pass maybe as a result of his sudden death, Jonathan failed out of the 3, OBJ still did better. But it's only Buhari that actually fail woefully, fail totally, fail completely, fail fantastically, fail perfectly, fail permanently, fail wholeheartedly.

Economic failure, geometric failure, academic failure, deplomatic failure, in fact bubu is a universal failure. Which eye her children take dey look am sef knowing fully well that their papa is a failed piece?

I don't like mixing issues as dis man is doing. Dat obj failed is a fact, although he was a responsible leader as he didn't try to explain it away by blaming ppl around.
Dat buhari has failed and is d biggest failure and worst leader since independence is also a fact. He is d most irresponsible leader I've knwn, alwaz proffering excuses for his failure instead of solution to d problem.
So talk about present which buhari represent not obj's past.

Obj is the Father of corruption. He gave birth to corruption, the corruption seeds he planted is what we are reaping today.
He had eight solid years to lay the foundation of transformation and change in the Country but as usual, he allowed his greedy and selfish nature to take over.
And now, the old man thinks he can bribe God with church building and the likes.

Conscience is an open wound, only the truth can nurture it.
They will eventually tell us how they sold AD to OBJ, knowing fully well the complicity of PDP in Bola Ige's death.
They still went ahead to sell us to Jona and collect money and pretended to be fighting for Yoruba interests.
Worthless people, let him attack Obj all he can, Omo Oduduwa will have no business with Afenifere until the likes of Adebanjo and Falae takes the back sit.
