Yes, as long as you don't intend to do church wedding, mind you once you are married traditionally you are considered fully married and your spouse becomes your asset/liability. But if you intend to do church wedding (which is not compulsory), then it's better to hold your self. 2 Likes |

Traditional marriage : Means you are married by way of your tradition. So couple is totally married and can live as legally married husband and wife. The church only blesses the marriage; marriage blessing by the church. Answer is YES you can have sex after traditional marriage. |

axcer: Traditional wedding is the real, authentic wedding. Once the two families agree, you can go and register the marriage at the Registry. There is nothing like church wedding in the Bible. The parents of Jesus did traditional marriage only. Jesus himself attended a traditional marriage. Church wedding is an usurpation of traditional rites by the Christian church and was promoted by the western world. 2 Likes |

traditional wedding is the real wefding the families of the couple are introduced, the community gets to know their inlaws bride price is paid, the woman is accorded respect, dignity and recognition by the communities, and families, the only respect a woman gets in church wedding is the useless wedding gown, id say couples are free to start having children after trado, let those enslaved church rats rant for all they want. |

Church wedding is just what pastors invented so that one will be tied down to their own church. Court weding is 'cus of legal matters these days in order to protect mostly women and her children incase of the death of the man. The Traditional wedding should be the altimate and once approved by both families, other things preceeding this, should only be for the normalization of their papers for their marriage. Once the parents gives their approval, you can now fire yourselves any style you want anywhere anytime. |

axcer: What silly question!!! *Who authorized a pastor to pronounce a man and woman husband and wife? *On what spiritual, moral or biblical precedent and authority can a pastor lean upon to join two people in marriage? * Did any marriage take place in a synagogue or church in the Bible? * With all the powers and miracles performed by the prophets and the desciples, did any of them ,including Jesus, join a man and a woman in marriage? If you cannot find any biblical precedent, how come a modern man called pastor is usurping the powers of God and man to join two people in marriage? 1 Like |

whatever you call church wedding is white wedding and white wedding is the wedding which the bride can wear white for the traditional reason, that she is a virgin. It is also the traditional wedding for whites (British). People over here are just funny, first African traditional, white wedding and then court wedding all in one. Is this normal? 1 Like |

I know a lot people here are going to bash me for this but it's okay. I'm not the right or worthy person to say this but since no one here have no plans of saying this its good people know the Truth. First of all, the true author of Christianity is Jesus Christ himself and not the 'white people'. This has been a sad misconception for a very long time till now. If I write a book and I want you and your whole family, friends and relations to read it and know it, and live by it and I give it to you first to read it and pass on, that doesn't make you the owner or creator of the book, you where just privileged to share it to other people. The white people don't own Christianity neither did they create it. And it's not 'black' mentality, for all those that'll always like to give themselves an excuse to do wrong. Well that's by the way. And FYI it's proper name is Christian marriage and not 'white wedding'. In order for your marriage to be truly valid, three things must check, if any one is left out, your marriage is incomplete and may suffer in future (and by then the only people you can point at is your village people): - the hospital - the family - the church - the hospital has to check in the sense that the couple has to find out their compatibility status or else they'll be doing their children, their pockets and even their self serious bad. Compatibility status like your genotype, blood group, and any other related tests in the hospital/lab. - the family has to check in the sense that both couples families have to agree and consent to giving their children away (though this is mostly the case of the woman). In some countries there's nothing like traditional marriage. They just fix a dinner where the families come together and know themselves and agree on what's up. But here in Nigeria culture, we do ours in an amazing manner where both families come together and the ladies family gives her hand out to the other family and they come to an agreement, in a grand style. This is our culture and this is good, very good. But my friend your marriage is not yet complete, yes you've gotten your parents blessings, fine. But you see marriage is a special gift, a sacrament from God. And if he has given us such great gift, won't it be fitting that he bless it for us through his servants, our ministers in our Church? - the church has to check in the sense that every marriage has to be blessed and bonded by God through His ministers so no one can put asunder. Yes I know, people seize this moment to point at the broken 'Christian' homes, cheating husbands/wives and co., but if you understand God you'll know that he allows some things just to test our faith. Constant prayer is needed in every marriage, in every home. Christian marriage is not to make your marriage known to the world, but rather to make your marriage known to God, to bring God into your marriage. It can be done between you, your spouse and the priest/pastor of your church. The misconception nowadays is that you must invite the whole world before you know you've done Christian marriage. And that's why many people shy away and give lousy excuses why it's not important and unnecessary. Now I tell you, a Christian marriage can be done between you and your spouse and a few family members. You don't have to do it big. Cut your coat according to your size. Besides the Christian marriage has nothing to do with the reception. It's just additional celebration. Sorry this had to be this long. To answer your questions if you haven't gotten it by now, NO, Christians are not allowed to have sex after Traditional marriage because the marriage ain't valid yet until the Christian marriage. 2 Likes |

Its called traditional "MARRIAGE" not traditional carnival. Traditional marriage is simply the local version of White wedding. So once you have paid her dowry and received her parents consent to wed her, you are legally married even before God and there is no sin in knowing your wife. Ignorance is a major problem in our society. If you are a Christian, then let your traditional marriage be with prayers to and before God. If you are a muslim you pray to Allah and add your ismalic practices and if you are amadioha's or Sango's pikin pray to him. shekenan!!! QED |

Please, wait until you exchange vows in the church and blessed by a man of God. You may decided to do same on the traditional wedding day(ie exchanging vows and receiving marital blessing) This opinion may not be popular but the standard of God cannot change. 1 Like |

The Bible never recommended any wedding in Church. That thing called Church wedding is an invention of the delusional black man. Jesus Christ attended a wedding in Cana. He did not officiate or preside. He never told his disciples to bless a wedding or officiate in one. That is the Biblical fact. All you need to be married is for the rites and customs to be fulfilled. And that is fulfilled when both families assemble to give out their children in marriage, depending on the custom and tradition. All you superstitious people going about to invent stories about the veracity of marriage tied to "Church Wedding" are busy bodies and meddlesome interlopers inventing what does not exist either by fact or history. The Bible should be the standard. Not the Pastor. Not the Bishop. 2 Likes |

Here's the basic facts that you all should know, yes couples can have sex after their TRADITIONAL MARRAIGE but their could be a limitations in their marraiges in getting results, many of you that have posted one thing or the order are also christians n you know why the need for WHITE WEDDING is put in place before the ALTAR OF GOD,after the Traditional marraige, in RELIGIOUS SETTINGS,as CHRISTIANS we have a STANDARD that we follow in practising the things of the sprirt it is simply called 'HOLY MATRIMONY' pls dnt forget this in a hurray as christians whatsoever thing we do we bring them before GOD on the altar so that the PASTOR can join n bless the couples n commit their marraige in the hands of GOD because he is the founder n initiator of joining together just as he joined ADAM N EVE, now having said that a lot of couples faces different challenges after their TM, due to some diabolic act frm people during the traditional marraige.this is only but a few i can quote in for now.i pray GOD help us amen. |

davidque: Yes bro of course it's "MARRIAGE". The Lady is given to the man and his family and the two are joined together as husband and wife, by "THE FAMILIES", by the families, don't you get? Are you an atheist? If yes then fine, I understand. But we're Christians by culture. And we should live that way. |
