Hi gurus in the house, I appreciate all the good work you guys have been doing here..

Please I need an advice from you all, I have a first degree from materials and production Engineering, and I graduated with a 2:2, but now I applied to a uni in Virginia for a second degree, and I was given admission to study applied disaster and emergency studies for anothe undergraduate degree but this time I will finish in 2 years instead of 4 years because I applied as a second degree student,and this course is a dream course for me, please is there any chances of me getting a visa even if I do well in my interview.. thank you.

I intend to come back to Nigeria and work in a production industry probably in the Safety and emergency department, because there is no production or manufacturing industry that does not have a safer or emergency department.. and there are so many other things I can do with the course, another is working with an emergency agency like Nema and co. I do hear they do deny student visa if going for another undergraduate degree, but for mine I need just 60 credit to finish the degree.. any red flag here?

He used BY MAFIT to register but he registered late and asked for a date that had filled up. I believe they gave him a date a week or 2 ahead but he came here to whine and tell people never to register with them again. I told him to use the extra time to prepare well because I knew Mr man was going to miss-kick the penalty to the throw-in line. Of course, he did not listen and miss-kick he did.

Are you working in the production industry in Nigeria? if what you just said is actually true, try convince the VO and who knows you might be issued a visa.My take is this, don't allow your low cpga to discourage you from going for your masters.if you have a good GRE and TOEFL scores, why not apply for your masters in industrial engineering, do you have fund for the undergraduate program?Many questions come to mind except you have your plans bro.Good luck!!.

Your best bet right now after exploring all options is to defer your admision and make proper financial planning.Dont let anybody deceive you that you can hustle your way.

Hello .. how were you able to convince the VO without a bank statement or proof you can fend financially for yourself...?

yes bro I have funds for the dergraduate program for the 2 years, my biological brother is a professor at George mason university Virgina USA and he is the sponsor then my mum the co-sponsor, or is that a disadvantage for me? And currently I am a freelance worker, no job permanent job yet, but I actually worked in the safety and emergency department during my IT ..because I just finished my NYSC in December 2017..

They do that a lot, it could be a business strategy . The mistake during my time? quite amazing because they told me to give myself enough study time..... Only for me to get home and see two weeks shocked

Any way, I called them and they simply changed it without extra charges.I became worried for the young lady sef, called in to make sure she wasn't in any trouble since I got a receipt of $50 or so for that change.

Hello ladies and Gentlemen
Please i got Admission to the University of Iowa...And will soon be going for my Visa interview...Lets say i get the Visa..I plan to transfer to a community college immediately i get there...But now am hearing that some schools try to complicate the transfer process, and some might even delete your Sevis ID...Is there any one that Knows if University of Iowa is one of those University..Maybe i should pick Another one

No they don't require , For the toefl, ur letter shud suffice , you can also let them know that ur education has been in English all through.

You should be asking TAMUC this question. What was applicable two years ago might not be applicable again.Go on the school website and email your department secretary or graduate coordinator. They are the ones that can give you the best answers, take charge of your future yourself.

No. The transcript should be sent officially to them by your undergraduate university.

Writing an email to the graduate coordinator (Dayla Burgin) requesting a waiver of the TOEFL requirement based on coming from a country where English is the official language usually works.

However, the vo withheld my bank statement in view of assessing its credibility. I want to know, if there's a consequent ban, would I be notified,? How would I know their decision? Whether good or bad?

If the SOA is real, let your mind be at peace but if not..You might not see a visa in your passport when you go to pick it up and you might be banned for 10 years or so

Why are you so concerned about this ban shocked

? As long as you didn't use 'Oluwole', then you shouldn't be asking such question. However, if you have some 'cockroaches in your cupboard', you'll definitely be notified by mail to come pick up your passport/love letter. wink

Hopefully, you don't get arrested(if and only if you used a fake SOA).
