I learn web design and web development alone using youtube. All u need are all on youtube. You just need time and dedication ma. I am in my year one now studing ind. Mathematics. And i have been assing most of our computer science in one area or the other. Also, take time to read online. Cheers!

In my opinion, the only Tech skill here that can get you a good pay is Business Development or well put..."Business Intelligence".

You'll rarely find a company that'll take you in as just a Database person so DB alone won't cut it.

Even a Business Intelligence expert would have database skill as one of his/her requirement for the job.

I'm open to contributions and corrections sha..

security as in ccna security?

These comments aren't encouraging at all! Imagine after investing so much resources and time to acquire these certifications, then months and years go by without at least a fairly paying job.

This country though...
Comptia Security + .
I also want to do CEH this year. Another 160k I have to spend just for trainning & exam.

ahhh 4gb dedicated gpu is too much for minimum specs na. An Nvidia Quadro 2000M 2gb should be enough

Same here too. I have Security+ certification already. I just feel like IT is not a rewarding profession in Nigeria
common bro S+ is not that strong to earn better money in IT now. in foreign countries, S+ no even follow.
You should be talking Ccna- ccnp security. pen testing or Ceh or Cissp. Comptia S+ is very low

But shouldn't it be enough to at least get someone a job. These other certs are hard to pass without having hands-on experience. Couple with the fact that they are really expensive. CEH just increased their price to $950!!

I feel your pain, I am not an expert but as someone who has similar experience like u, I want to say security is typically not the best place to start from.

You should first get yourself acquainted with how devices connect to themselves, how they store and retrieve info. which means Ccna/mcsa should be the starting point.

How can you secure something you have no good knowledge of?

Comptia S+ or even N+ isnt seen as that valuable in the job market.

Even in Ccna security, you cannot start there except you ccna r&s. So that's how it is bro, its tough out there. Technology is rapidly evolving. so its either we follow up quickly or we become redundant. Everything is fast becoming automated and going cloud.

Except you are a nasty hacker with good-average programming knowledge that's how you can secure a job, but with Comptia S+ alone. Its tough to be honest....

Keep striving bro, God go do am for us. cheers
