Drkay7: Well, the way to find a date is to try to find one. Some people offered different options of checking, on this thread and in this part 3. If anyone knows the current available dates in Abuja, they will post it here. But your best approach is to try to complete the form, pay and book as soon as possible. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by bigbus: 12:34am On Apr 05, 2018 |
Drkay7:I see. If you are still allowed the one free rescheduling, I will suggest you book the earliest date, then follow up by checking every night to see if an earlier date pops up as free. |

Good Day My Good People, Pls Does A Self Employed Person Need To State A Monthly Salary In The Ds-160 Form Or Should He Leave The Column Blank Since His Income Only Depends On Anytime He Makes A Sale. This Is How It Is Stated In The Form; Monthly Salary In Local Currency (If Employed). I Will Appreciate All Your Good Response. |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by cosade(m): 9:47pm On Apr 05, 2018 |
siina: Please let talk within the context of the discussion. The discussion is about an Education Officer that applied for US B1/B2 visa. Mention any state paying more than 50k to a Grade Level 08 Officer. Anyone earning bogus bonus should be a criminally minded person. Any decent civil servant that is erroneously paid a bogus bonus, should return it to the treasury. 2 Likes |

Thanks for your Advice There is no prescribed dress code, if you're comfortable in your office uniform why not? But no weapons. I think you meant if your visa is in your expired passport, should you inform the Embassy that you have a new passport? No, you simply travel with both travel documents (passports). [/quote] |

cosade: Look at you.. saying this with confidence... my friend is a protocol officer and he earns $385 per day on a 10 day trip and he does that twice a month.. apart from DTA and other allowances... bro forget ooo some civil servant schedule alone will earn you a million every month without steal or doing any fraudulent activities... open up your mind. 2 Likes |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by seyewest(m): 11:55pm On Apr 05, 2018 |
cosade: You said civil servant and let's talk about the Education Officer, what if he's the state supervisor clerk or secretary do you know what his DTA per month will be? that alone is enough for a return trip to U.S. Like I said before open up your mind. 2 Likes |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by cosade(m): 12:33am On Apr 06, 2018 |
seyewest: "Education Officer" is a position in the civil service and it's a Grade Level 08 job. See this advert to be better informed: https://ngcareers.com/job/2017-09/education-officer-ii-gl-08-at-889 The person that came here to seek for public opinion, has not contested what I wrote, so I don't understand why you're arguing on what you don't know. Stay within the context of our discussion, this is a level 8 or at best level 9 civil servant that is sponsoring himself and not government. So the issue of DTA does not come in. When I give opinion here, it is out of experience and a very rich one too. 1 Like |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by cosade(m): 12:47am On Apr 06, 2018 |
seyewest: Why are you in a haste to respond to my post without comprehending it? If you know that the person made money from DTAs etc, is that not explainable? Again, I emphasize that US Embassy does not give visas to civil servants that have unexplained huge savings or properties. |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by LadyGuinivere: 6:54am On Apr 06, 2018 |
seyewest:I read the transcript of the fellow. See eh. When we comment /advice (my opinion) I believe we should see things in the context of the particular transcript. Reason being a Lotta applicants are already looking for loopholes to lie or create fictitious incomes. That's why they will like the idea that civil servants are rich. Because tomorrow the next applicant will have the idea that lotsa CServants are rich and then "fine-tune " his salary without knowing that the embassy has a rough idea of salaries. Civil servants have cadres and fixed salaries Now as an exception, someone attrached to the governor's office may travel with him and get DTA. I have seen that. That is in addition to his salary. Does he get DTA every day? No Does every other civil servant at grade 8 get DTA? No. In fact I can humbly postulate that MOST civil servants are not "millionaires " or lucky enough to have an official side hustle. So if we go back to the root of this argument, the fellows salary was indeed little compared to the expense he wanted to incur for a holiday. He also didn't disclose any other legal source of income. I am certain that when these "millionaire" civil servants want to apply, they will state all their sources of income. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by LadyGuinivere: 7:02am On Apr 06, 2018 |
siina:Earning cool cash... Some. Yes At grade level 8? Comparatively speaking, of what percentage when compared to the general pool of civil servants nation wide or even state wide? Will you be able to say in a conversation ; Some civil servants are rich or Most civil servants are rich I don't think you can say the latter. We are talking about folks in the ministries and parastatals, Teachers and nurses in the government hospitals and the likes. How much is a permanent secretary's salary? If the Oga earns about 650k then how much will the others earn when we start going down the ranks. We are talking about legal, accountable income not the ones with side hustles (which you also have to factor in civil service rules and ask if they are allowed to run those hustles) 1 Like |
