Kayode that I know is not an in-box player. Can't deputise Ighalo nor can he hold up play. I'm talking of a proper 9 here. Kayode to me is more of a forward (winger) than a CF.

in as much as I dont rate him that much but his a CF, every striker operate differently, not all strikers are good in holding up play.

Our young talents are good but world Cup stage is too big for them. They need more experienced guys to guide them. Nedum has played consistently in England for over a decade and Aiyenugba 's experience will come in handy

Good, now can Dessers and Umar perform better than Kayode in La liga with the same condition Kayode operated?

we dont know because they have not been tasted there, but kayode actually didn't do well in laliga. he could not get the starting role and didn't record a goal in laliga

For the kind of team, Kayode played for, he should have had more games. He had a lot of opportunities but for a striker, if you are not scoring, you will be benched.

I think, Dessers and Umar could have at least gotten one goal if given the number of games Kayode had.

Spot on, Girona is one of the highest scoring side in laliga bar real madrid and Barcelona

I think you should say that to yourself...
if you think that Ighalo and Martins who could barely pass the mark of 20 goals a season despite the game time in a Chinese league with mediocre Chinese players....could do same in netherland then you have to think again....

I still remember how Wolfsburg under 23 team whipped mikel's team....during preseason...you can Google the Chinese teams preseason result with small European clubs to see how they were grossly beaten...and you think so old legs can replicate same performance of old in the dutch league....
you are currently living in the past....

the dutch league defenders might be very poor...but not as bad as those Chinese players......
Sir you are getting it wrong on Martins and Ighalo, pls give them little respect they deserves.

These guys did not start from Chinese league, better for you to look back before they moved to Chinese league.

Try and ask yourself why we couldn't get a good AM to slug it out with Mikel who also play in China.

Did you know Brazil qualification to WC involved China based players.

Sir you mixed things up that are not justifiable in analysing Martins and Ighalo and try to always balance things up.

What exactly is this "he falls down a lot"? Kanu Nwankwo fell down a lot, he did not make him a bad player....

The weekend will soon be here, i hope some take the time out to watch some games..

Let us be clear, I am not clamoring for Umar to join the team now or even make the WC list but he is in fine form and has improved drastically.

Kanu you mentioned is way better than Umar and Kanu wouldn't get some deal he got back then now, football has evolved

It is very obvious that we don't have strikers. Iheanacho, moses and iwobi are our top scorers in recent times. They should be sharpened by the technical crew and unleash them on our opponents when hostilities commence in the mundial. Bringing in new strikers could upset the balance in the team

Sir i disagree,Stuani is having a good run in la liga and no coach would bench such player.

Kayode case was similar to Nacho at Leicester not getting playing time cos of Vardy and till today Nacho is finding it hard despite his quality, are we going to say Nacho lacks the pedigree.

Kayode had two start for Girona with two assists and MOTM.I remember watching him against Deportivo with Uzoho in goal and am very happy as a Nigerian seeing two of them doing it,Kayode was awesome in that match.

On Umar and Dessers i don't want to use 'IF' so nothing to say cos i know the quality of Dutch league.

Uzoho is not a bad GK. He is young and in my opinion is already getting better.

He was not bad in the second half against Poland or Serbia. Anyone with a keen eye can see that he has great potential.

am not sure, he is ready for the WC but he can do a decent job.
Maybe I used the wrong word 'bad'. Not that they are bad gks but they are not good enough for our WC ambition just like you pointed out @the bolded.

I watched clips of Sadiq Umar this afternoon. He's not neat in his moves. Kanu had smoothness even though he was tall. There's something quite unorganised about that Sadiq. It's the same thing I saw in Uzoho in the course of the last two friendlies. I can't place my hand on it but I see it.

You are right....can i say it`s clumsiness...you cant place it but you just know that something is missing...watching him in some situations, you will be the one shouting....kaaaaiiiiii....pass the ball naaaaaaaah.....ooooooooooh....chaaaaaaaaai.....oooooooooGod.....

Sometimes,it seems that his legs distorts his intentions. But he is skillful and gangling

Which games did you watch?

Please take the time to watch a full game.. He did not make the team of the week back to back by being average.

I have watched his full games and i believe that he will trouble defences. He still has some weaknesses but to say he is the same as 2016 is inaccurate.
I concede that I might be wrong but those were my impressions. I didn't watch his full game

Since you are quite sure about him that he's improved, I'd take your word then. I'm all for whatever will make our team better

Yea son, it's Martins, the one outperforming your top 9 in the same Chinese league even at his age, the one still clocking minutes more than your top 9.

Yea, your top 9 scored how many goals for the SE in 15 games? Yea sure, we are scoring goals. I forgot the job of a top 9 already.

Oh it's to score goals? Nooo, it's to press defenders.... Nooo it's to wait until there is a Mikel in the midfield before he can at least have 3 targets on goal in a 90 mins game.

Sing me another song Son.
Martins ain't gon add no sh!t we ain't got before... Even if I was born last night, Nigga has failed to impress in GWG. The last he did was against kenya before 2010 WC. Mikel was a boss in that game but then, of course, it's Mikel the bad guy. He wasn't Okocha... Bla bla bla... Remember Yakubu had a goal in that game but they both turned out lame duck at the WC.

Bro you cannot play in the edisivere if you don't have above average technique, I believe sodiq has that kind of smoothness maybe not to Kanu level, he sometimes has bad touches I think that the unorganized thing you see in his game.
But when he's a more mature player he will be smoother on the ball.

You must have been following Rohr since he was born.

These are players most likely to make the squad.

But I'm not fully sold on Osimhen, Agu, elderson (would've preferred Ambrose to this fella), Joel obi(maybe needs more time to get), bazee (I've not watched his clips though), onyekuru (I've this strong feeling that this guy is overrated and will flop big time).

We don't have gk. Uzoho no be am abeg. Against Argentina he was so smooth. The Uzoho I saw in the last two friendlies is the real Uzoho. We no get keeper.

This is the home truth. The friendlies exposed the real Uzoho. He was just all over the place with this awkward feel about him like he was not a natural. Recall, he started out as a striker and only only converted to a goalie 5yrs ago.
I'm not a fan of Alampasu, any regular here will know this, but I will rather go to war with him than Uzoho.

If Uzoho wasnt based in Spain, will there be clamour for him to even be the 3rd choice gk? Your guess is as good as mine.

Who is talking bout the one game under Keshi? If you could discern my point which of course you do not, I'm talking about 2010 WC and beyond. What r you going to say bout Yakubu who was ahead of Martins in the GWG even at his peak. They both disappointed in 2010 and it has never been the real them again in the GWG.
