Beautiful looking dogs....
I can spot a German Shepherd a mile away.....
I am frightened by German Shepherds...but they are one of the most intelligent breeds out there. They are the U.S. Police force's dog of choice.
So what made you decide to get two dogs...?
If you already explained it in the thread, let me know and I'll go back and re-read.
I became a dog lover after my family purchased a 7 week old Pomeranian (who could fit in my hand) and which we had for 15 years.....and then he passed in 2013.
There is nothing like a dog....give it some food, love and care...and he/she is forever loyal...
Was the dog imported or how did you go about purchasing him?
Is he protective of the family and basically a guard-dog for you guys?
Do I just need to go back through the thread and read..lol?
I love the names Murphy and Gustav too...what's the story behind them?
Our dog's name was Simba.

Good morning, I explained everything in the first page but I'll all over again
Murphy was a gift from my aunt whom i assisted in selling her pups (Murphy's litter mates) so she rewarded me with a male pup and i named him "Murphy"

When i first got him, many people brought suggestions and opinions on how to raise him as well as the name to give him so i decided to choose Murphy lol

Gustaf on the other hand is a locally bred working line German shepherd (Nigeria) and not imported, I got his name from my favorite Brazilian player called "GUSTAVO"

So simba lived up to 15 years?? Wow that's nice to hear cheesy

How are you? Yes I think I need to re-read from the beginning. I just am so in love with dogs....once you look into those eyes....I tell you....it's all over for me. Their eyes speak to me like nothing else.
I love those names...very unique and befitting for your dogs.
Yes...Simba lived for 15 years!! Pomeranians have a life span between 14-18 years....on average. At full size, he only weighed 10 bs...so you can imagine that I was always holding him...until he wouldn't let me do it as he got older!
However, many don't make it that long.
We were extremely blessed....and he was such a faithful dog!
He lived in the house and ate a specific dog food brand....but we did give him a slice of whole wheat bread every day as a treat which he loved!
He actually got testicular cancer (which he had surgery for) and also developed cataracts in his eyes around 12 years of age.
He ended up having kidney failure (at 15 years)...and passed cry
I miss that dog so much....

Yes...I know! He was a very special and blessed dog...
When he died, my dad didn't even want to call and tell me (I lived and worked in a different city)...
It was my brother who called me...and I just had to hang up the phone and cry so long....
Pets become one of the family.....

Ha....you just want to sell me a dog....lol.
I saw your threads....
Very clever how you did that smiley
I will get the right dog (cause I'm not sure just yet what I want) when I am finally settled down...and can fully give it the proper attention that it needs...

Thank you for your condolences...I tell you it was so hard....
Losing a pet is like losing a loved one...that thing hurts to the core....
When you really love someone or something...and you lose it....I tell you.....no words to express the pain.
He was Simba "The Triumphant Lion"....cause he looked like a miniature lion ( and of course named after The Lion King).
Your dogs look really healthy and happy.....you clearly love them and I'm sure they know it.

I am moving around a bit for now...so I haven't gotten a dog just yet.
But I absolutely will get one when I settle down and can take care of it.
I don't know if I want a "toy" dog like Simba was...or a gentle giant like Murphy and Gustav.
I sometimes want a dog that I can hold....and if they weigh too much llke your dogs do....then I can't hold them in my arms or them sit in my lap...
I like the idea of having a guard dog (which would mean that the dog would need to be large)...but I really want to hold him (I know I want a boy)...cause that means so much to me.
But I just don't know.
Any suggestions?

P.S. I just saw that meat in the earlier pics above...and shocked
Wow...I almost don't want to know what it is..
Your dogs really eat wild meat...wow!
That's amazing.

Good morning dear mobilia, Sorry for the late replies though I've been kinda busy lately

Sorry for simba's death one more time cry loosing a dog really hurts (only dog lovers would understand this though)

I see you really want to own a dog but maybe you don't have enough space/accomodation or something, so i advise you wait till you get a better free space then you can get yourself one probably a pup

You kinda confused on the breed you should get lol, there are various (large)breeds of dogs today to choose to just suit your lifestyle like the boerboels, German shepherds, pitbulls, dobermans (though kinda rare here in Nigeria) then St Bernards or Maybe bullmasiffs, I personally don't like Caucasians while some toy breeds commonly seen includes; Maltese, Samoyed, Lhasa apsos and maybe other terrier mix sold by some kennels.

You carrying a large breed dog will be good, I know it won't be a problem at all lol

The truth is that the content of the one i got is 300mg per capsule to it lools kinda "small" while their is a bigger capsule which is 1000mg per capsule with will do just fine if administered one everyday, I'll be getting the 1000mg capsule once this current one finishes

I suggest you get the 1000mg so you will be giving it to your two gsd one capsule a day

Buh blike say dah 1 go cost pass d 1 i bn buy o, I no juz knw bro

**Throwback Thursday**

These pix were taken around February shortly before Gustaf fell ill, a friend of mine who is also a hardcore dog lover visited us from a very far town about 50 miles away lol

Proper introduction was done and in minutes the boys got along with my dude. He felt so happy taking pictures with Murphy and Gustaf

Gustaf exploring his territory, sometimes i don't just know the colour of this dog, some people say he's a black, grey or mixed colour... I personally know he's a sable colour gsd

The changing of coat is as a result of shedding and other health problems he has faced so far
