Hello good people.

Please I have a question regarding my sister's work experience as a Health and Social Worker.

Her years of work experience are as follows:

1). Company A: 2012 = 1 year (NYSC)

2). Company B: September 2013 to July 2014 = 1 year

3). Company C: February 2016 to January 2017 = 11 months

4). Company D: September 2017 till date = 7 months

- Since (3) and (4) are not up to 1 year, can they be combined to make it a year?

- Does she need to get reference letters for ALL?

Please advise. Thanks.

Seniors please help. Awaiting a reply. Thanks.

Just got my Ielts result. I'm just so so sad right now.
LRSW= 8.5, 9, 7.5, 6.5. In that order. Please, What are the chances of getting an upgrade after requesting for a remark?

I just left. Registration is 7,500. Then you go to the study centre for assessment and other registration procedures. For your study materials also. The lady told me that the programme is for 2 semesters and all in all, the total cost shouldn't exceed 160k for both semesters, course registration and exams fees. You are to pay per semester though. My bro will still need to visit the study centre nearest to him to get all necessary info and exact costs. But my understanding is that the total package isn't pocket draining as much. There's also flexibility too. Total program takes 1 year.

Nne are you still there? Biko ask them how long PGD will take and the amount. The amounts on their website seems too good to be true.

What I use in studying especially reading and listening is ieltsonlinetests.com because you are actually timed and after the test, answers are explained to you so you wouldn't flop again. Who else is using this website or any other one, please do mention it so we all learn. Thanks.

Apt..
ysteph:
Let me drop this here this morning.

I read laminaria's post where he/she was so angry at the way people direct people to Page 0.
I'll use myself as an example.
After i read about Express Entry on the cic website. I started searching google for practical examples and information.
One day, i was searching google for something about POF and I stumbled on this thread.
When i opened the page google directed me to, i saw a post from Iphie...(can't remember the full moniker), i read it.
It was from reading about POF that i saw that, IQAS evaluation favours law degree, how to add a new born to the application, how to add spouse, how to obtain US PCC. I also got Inspector's Moshood's information, and many other useful information. I also learnt all the abbreviations from reading this thread. I have a jotter where i note stuffs down.

The people i direct to this thread thank me all the time for the valuable information they get here.
It therefore surprises me that people are angry because they are directed to Page 0.
No one is saying don't ask questions, but let the questions be constructive. Afterall, i also learn from other peoples' questions and the answers given.

This Canada when all of us want to go so, this naija style will not help us. We are so used to getting spoon fed for everything.
For those that haven't travelled abroad (no offence meant) let us not join those that are angry when some harsh answers are given.
It should ginger you to read. It's DIY in Canada and other civilised countries.
I'm not saying people don't help there, but you're expected to know some basic things. For example using the internet to get information.

To show how irritating some questions are, it was here i read a question, ''which bank is best for POF''. Recently someone said flesh up your job duties and the question that followed was ''how do i do that?''.

I expect that, many of us should be getting information from the living in Canada thread by now. There's nothing wrong in getting information ahead.

In conclusion, Please let us read and understand this Express Entry Process before asking questions. Many questions here are totally unnecessary. Meanwhile, for those of you, attacking Canadianfly, i'll say there's no need for it. She's just teaching us to learn the hard way. Smart people see sense in her sarcastic answers. Some others feel she's too harsh. There'll come a time when her response will make sense to all of us.

I rest my case.

Please guys, i have some couple of questions make una no vex

1. I want my spouse (PA) to use my account for POF. Sending POF to her account will not make sense due to some reasons.I think using my account is better. Please i need a sample of the letter of authorization for her to use my account. I have drafted something but i feel i didnt capture it well. Please can someone help me with a sample?

2. She has the experience in the required NOC but her company is a small one man company with no web presence and customized email address. I wonder how CIC will confirm the reference letter. Is it better to notarize any reference letter they give her? Will it make things easier?

See answers below:

1) would be better if you share what you drafted and we can help you 'flesh it up' (in the words of Newmum0615)

2) Wifey doesn't have to be working at an MNc before her reference letter is valid. She should get her reference letter, then add any proof of employment she has. E.g. Pay stubs, bank statement showing salary payment or employment letter. Anything related to the work she can find is fine.

See.......I told ya
bammy2017:
Here's my IELTS result;
L-8.5
R-8.5
S-7.5
W-7.0

Humanly speaking, I prepared adequately for the test but I made too many errors on exam day to deserve this result. I can only give all glory to God.

Be encouraged everyone...it will surely end in praise.

Totally unrelated but i think there are two factors of importance regarding the writing.

1) People write under the constraint of time and that additional pressure means that it becomes easier to not notice spelling or punctuation errors. Basically, you either have no time to cross-check your work, or your mental state blinds you to the errors in your writing. All my friends (learned and smart folks too) aced IELTS but their lowest band was always the writing (myself included).

2) Perhaps more importantly, the mobile phone culture of abbreviating even short words because of God-knows-what has eroded the spelling ability of many people, as well as the use of the auto-correct function when typing. This means that the only time people actually see the true level of their spelling ability is when they take tests like IELTS. On a personal note, I was so gutted after my speaking test that I, by default, kept on saying cos instead of because. Not that it mattered much at the end though (got an 8.5).
My point is, we need to check our default when it comes to English communication. IELTS only highlights what is already there which we never took notice of.

Regardless of the challenges with IELTS, it shall end in praise for us all.

Shalom!!
