andrew444:that dude reasoning eehh.. so absurd.....an intelligent person won't draw up prepositions so easily to make such claims... because it is not absolutely verifiable...they're variables at play... a player may do badly in the dutch league..and he will move to England and do wonders.... properly the team tactics suits him, he has improved on himself.... his team mates influence etc... sometimes when we take this things in we won't reason foolishly.... I could not reply one who was claiming the Chinese players will play better and do more than dessers and umar if they were in the dutch league..... could not use common sense...tell..if the Chinese league was that super and technical...it would have abeit reflects in the national team.... Chinese team can't even match the Netherlands under 23 team...let alone the national team..of Netherlands. they have not been in the world cup for a long time now and can't even win the Asian nations cup....can't even get to the final.. 1 Like |

Ever since I stopped reading Southgate's posts I swear I enjoy this thread more. Once I see his post I just scroll on. Oh what peace we often forfeit, ooh what needless pain we bear, all because we never learnt to jump and pass. I've learnt it and it's sweet. Anybody's posts you can't bear please try ignoring it. You will gain more. Try it and thank me later. Ignore my advice - continue to bicker and gripe from needless arguments especially with those who are set in their ways. Choice is yours! 16 Likes 3 Shares |

Truidstar: Your post is filled with after worldcup what next, the worldcup is not the planning time but executing time, any player can retire after playing the worldcup.infact to me is the best time to retire The German team that won the last worldcup is very different from the one that won the confederations cup and also favourite for the 2018 worldcup, there is no more klose, lahm, schweinsteiger,Lucas Podolski and mertasacker, and some regular in the last worldcup are not there anymore Gotze( who might not make the team), schurle and Mario Gomez. sorry I'm using the gemern team too much as an example, but in 2006 worldcup they had jens Lehman(36years) as No1 and Oliver kahn(36years) as No2, you really have to be wonderful at a young age to be trusted with goal keeping responsibility. Ejide, Aiyenugba and even Mikel can retire if they want if we make the worldcup semi final, we sure have time to regroup and have a good team again, the core of the team is very young, I just hope Rohr know the worldcup is not the competition of who has the youngest team. 7 Likes |

komekn: Your direct and frank approach works for me. Umar is as average as they come as far as I'm concerned. I cant understand why we glorify mediocrity just because one finds his way to Europe. If we are getting that desperate to go with Umar, then it should be worth considering Ideye who to say the least, can ride and survive challenges whilst standing on his feet. 3 Likes 1 Share |

andrew444: world class coaches too, some guys think is easier for players in the Chinese league, is even more tasking, in the Chinese league 3 foreign players are allowed in the match day squad, so players like Mikel will be attempting assist for some crappy players, and the likes of hulk and Pato will be expecting to get assist from some flat footed players 1 Like 1 Share |

Martz101: Good you mentioned the German Team. They are one of the favorites for the world cup but how many of their players are ranked in the top 10 in the world? They no longer produce super stars. They have evolved to become efficient, ruthless and tireless workers. My point is Rohr has a young team, let's trust this team. The Germans started a project in 2006 and won the world cup in 2014. |

Then same can be said of the other names you listed in your writeups. Worldcup is not where you go to grow your players, rather a place you go to showcase your grown and tested players! World cup is like Final exam, not for test, Continuous assessment or home work. Truidstar: 3 Likes |

tbaba1234: My opinion is very objective. Last I watched Ideye, he was hands down the man of the match against Valencia (I think), even though he was on the loosing side. If he haven't made the bench over the the past few weeks, it should be an indication that he's injured and maybe the injury was not reported by the associated press. Secondly, the Eredivisie is a very weak league. Dutch football is no longer taken seriously in Europe. Can you name any serious world cup contender who will parade a single player from the Eredivisie? The answer is a capital NO! That should tell you how embarrassing low Dutch football have gone. I have caught a few glimpse of Umar at Nac Breda but honestly, I still the old turn over merchant Umar ,who trips over his shoe laces. With the poverty football on display in the 2 last friendlies, we actually need more naturally gifted players up front, who can unlock defenses with shear creativity not another hipster in the front lines. 6 Likes 3 Shares |

Truidstar: That means you didn't understand my long writeup, the Germans started there wonderful project in 2006 but they had ballack, Oliver Kahn and Jens Lehman. The German project was not about the players but the system, the german have a way they play and maintain on that way, even there youth system play that same way. The German project was not about building a young side or neglecting the older player. This should be easy to understand, now back to Nigeria, if Ejide or/and Aiyenugba is called back and after the tournament they retire nothing will happen, Uzoho can carryon with Afcon and start building up from there. Uzoho will not stand the pressure of playing in a worldcup stadium, that worldcup could actually break him and his wonderful career. 1 Like |

goldfish80: Umar is a very mobile forward and can retain possession also with his style of play..his finishing and decision making is not there yet but a guy like that at 21 has age on his side to improve.. Since we are looking for another forward, he offers something most of our other strikers don't have..he can be our third striker behind Ighalo and nacho..but i really do think he has something to offer this team... The only reason I think so is because of our style of play, we rely a lot on our inverted wingers, I think he could make the Nigerian side look more dangerous even thou is finishing is not there yet.. |
