Is my result poor?

demiiii:
Hello all,
My IELTS written on the 24th of March is out and I. Had 7.5 overall score. Not so impressed but need assistance;

Details are;
Writing - 6.5,
Listening - 9.0,
speaking - 7.0 and
reading - 7.0

I need help on the way forward after this result. I do not have a family member who has permanent residency permit in Canada. Neither do I have a second language nor have I schooled in Canada.

I have previously applied and I submitted my documents but my application was rejected because my score was low. I applied through an agent.

Please what can I do if I do not want to go through an agent again? What's the next step after this IELTS result of 7.5. Thanks in anticipation.

Hello house keep up the good work. Pls I need to ask a few questions, I can see people here saying to score more mark in the education section one shld go register on noun uni for a PhD one yr. So what I wanna ask is, if I register at noun now , can I start my application process already . And I shld go ahead to choose that option of two or more certificate. Also does this mean I be to send my bsc for evaluation . While I am still awaiting noun PhD cert.

You're mistaken. Its diploma. You need a masters first before PhD. What they talk about in Noun's case is a year diploma.

Bros, you cannot claim what you do not have..You can't use "in view" for your application

In my opinion, I think you should ask for a remark in your writing
Beside, what your situation like? ( age, degree and martial status)

You have not answered the questions I asked in the previous page for clarification.

Meanwhile your result is not bad just that a 7.0 in writing would boost your CRS score. Try and estimate your score too yourself using the crs tool.

By the way, from your questions, it's obvious page 0 needs you badly. Try visit it.

Your result is not poor but u need at least a 7 in writing. I think you should raise an EOR i.e a remark of ur result u should hopefully get a raise in ur writing. It would cost you additional 15k if u wrote with BC and 45k with MOD. To know more about this Canadian express entry process and requirements, I would implore you go through the various links on page 0 of this thread.

Hello guys.

Av been a silent observer and learnt so much from this thread. Kudos 2 everyone for their input amd ensuring the thread is active and alive.

Pls i want to make enquiry about smthn. With regards to work experiece and noc, so I have about 6years experience in the noc i want to use (law). But the past 1 year av bn doing somthn completely different from my noc (travels). Then a month ago i registerd a company in line with my noc (law firm). So in completing my profile, i filled just the 6 years and now self employed under my own company, but there's now that 1 year gap in btwn. What do you suggest I do to make up for this?

To the best of my knowledge, if you're only claiming points for the initial 6 years in Law (which is enough), then the year you spent in the travel business as well as this new law firm venture can come under your personal history (POST ITA I believe). I don't believe it's possible to have a time gap in your application;even if you were not working "unemployed" would be the correct answer.
Hope someone else will correct this if I'm wrong.

Help a soul.... Can you share some of the links you used on YouTube....

Thanks.

Guitarlife:

The bolded is not always correct though, I made an 8.5 in listening in my first attempt and honestly I had practiced so much I never got beyond 35 in my practice tests.

What I did was most test I practised on youtube I increased the speed to 1.25 so I trained my brain to follow fast conversaTIONS. The actual test felt really slow like the conversation was delayed because I was already used to fast discussion.

If you have ielts and eca for your bachelors already, you can enter the pool. Whenever you get your noun pgd, then evaluate and add to boost your crs. Entering the pool as early as possible is usually advantageous because of the tie breaker aspect of draws.

Hopefully you get the gist of what I'm saying, if you don't, it means you may have to spend some more time on page zero.

Thank you glitteringstar. This will go a long way. But again if I were to fill the form, what do I fill for location and name of office where application was sent to? Secondly, I was told by someone else to just send a letter of explanation saying that it was an error on my part and I never wished to send my application to a third party. And the form may not be filled. What do you think about this?

I believe you are good to go with the second option (LOE). Just try to follow your heart. I wish you the best. smiley
