There are a lot things that can serve as home tie. Anything that will make you want to come home at the end of your study.

It could be your parent, siblings, a large sum of money in Nigeria, a business, your parents assets, or a job prospect in Nigeria.

The onus is on you to prove its a tie.

Best.
I am a lady and a recent graduate just rounding off nysc. I dont have a large sum of money in Nigeria or a business or a job prospect and my parents have not linked any of their asset to my name.

Please what other alternative do i have? Or can a visa be denied if i dont necessarily show any of the above?

Hi. Mr.V

Dont take unnecessary risk. Simply go to your school, request for your official transcript and let them send it through courier to the school youre applying to.

You will pay for the courier service and the transcript request.good

Good day I applied to a university with an unofficial transcript which I scanned. I have requested for an official transcript from my school but I want to send it myself via fedex to avoid delay. How feasible will this be.

Thank you

Why do you want to take the English test, most universities in Canada offer a waiver to applicants from Nigeria.

Confirm the requirements of the school before you take the test and i dont think they use ielts. Most schools only accept TOEFL.

Emphasis on "Most"

Hello, ensure you submit your NYSC SOA to show that you have not been idle after your undergraduate studies. Inasmuch you bear the same name with your parents, you can ride safely on the wings of their assets. I believe a well written SOP detailing your career goals in Nigeria and as well your siblings and family certificate. Any family business? if there is, you can link up how you intend to use your course of study to advance the company

Ma,

Your parent, sibling, and parent's asset are good enough home ties to get your visa. The asset does not necessarily have to be linked to you. Just show proof it exist and it belongs to your family. You can attach the Certificate of Occupancy, survey plan and valuation of the land.

As long as you show enough fund to cover your tuition and living expenses, you should be fine.

Also, the job is not a necessary requirement as youre just completing your mandatory NYSC. I just suggested it as a good home tie.

Best.

I have been a silent reader. I need your help the seniors in the group.
I am applying for a study permit for myself and visitors visa for my husband and kids as well.
On one of the forms, specifically on the IMM 5832 E 1 for - on page 1 (Open study permit - for accompanying children aged 6-
18 years old - no separate application form is required)

Does it mean that I do not need to fill a study permit form for my 1st son who is a minor and just clocked 6 years?

Please i look forward to your response.
Thanks

Please gurus in the house I need your assistance.
I am about to apply for my trv ; my uncle and my wife are my sponsors. My uncle has already transferred a semester tuition fee to my account which is the only assistance he promised to give. Please how can I show proof of relationship? Thanks
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Phocusjosh(m): 9:49pm On Apr 07, 2018
Biometric request is meant to be gotten immediately after applying successfully online, some get it days after application. Biometric is used by Canadian visa officers to confirm your identity, resolve problems or errors that may happen if your name, date of birth and/or place of birth are similar to those of someone else, and confirm your identity the next time you apply, so it is easier for you to re-enter Canada.

If you have received a Biometric Instruction Letter (e-apps) from the Government of Canada, you will be required to submit your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) at the Canada Visa Application Centre. Visit in person the nearest Visa Application Centre (Lagos or Abuja). Bring the necessary documents; Your International Passport (2 photocopies), 450 naira, and the Biometric Instruction letter.

This the address of VFS in Lagos; Canada Visa Application Centre, Lagos, Manor Hall, Plot 110, Admiral Ayinla Way,Opposite Treasure Garden Estate,Third Roundabout, Lekki Phase I – Lagos while Abuja is situated at Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja, Silverbird Entertainment Centre, Plot 1161, Memorial Drive,2nd Floor, Central Business District, Abuja.

I hope this is helpful.

It is a great school. I was accepted there on half scholarship and they said that is the best they can do. It is not in Toronto, it’s in Kingston.

Yes, it is possible but make sure that the envelope is sealed and stamped by your school.

So from the screenshot I attached, it’s obvious that there are two forms. The one without the siblings info is what is available now. However they probably know some people are still using the pld form. Now the question is, since I also have the old form, should I use that instead?
annaliese88,

You don't need to worry about this, the family form has been changed to IMM5707E no longer the usual IMM5654E. So you're expected to fill the IMM5707E for paper route which doesn't require you to input your siblings details. Online applicants still makes use of the old IMM5654E, with time it will be updated on the online portal.

All the best!
