No he was just highly rated then. He wasn't seen as World Class just yet hence why only liverpool moved for him. Arsenal weren't willing to pay 23m for him at that time. He only made the ballon d orr top 10 in his second season at Liverpool.

Suarez made the FIFA ballon d or in his half season with Liverpool. Fact

His performance at Ajax got him into the top 6 players in the world. Fact

Bros I read all what you wrote and is difficult to pin point how Umar is better, how can you say Umar is faster than Awoniyi? big lie, Awoniyi is a beast

I am not judging quality by how many matches played, They are both young, umar is alittle bit older, when I said Awoniyi played has played more matches(61 matches in European football) it means he has more exposure and can be trusted in GWG.

Umar has been in Europe since 2013, played for spezia, lavagnese,Roma, bologna, you Torino and now Nac breda and can only boast of 18( 5 coning this season at Nac)matches at 21 years that's no progression.

And who told you young players don't succed in Seria A

1. Frank kessie - 21years ( a.c. Milan)....one of the best midfilders in Seria A
2. donnarumma -19 years( a.c. milan)
..been first choice keeper since 3 or 2 years now
3. Joel obi - at 21 was playing for inter already
4.Cengiz under - 20years( roma) arguably Roma best player this season

I don't see were Umar holds advantage over Awoniyi
I personally think a lot of you guys don't like umar bcoz of the olympics performance, he had a good competition but it seems the myopic lots expected him to give what he didn't have yet, but one thing was sure while ajayi and awoniyi were racking up appearances in thier clubs, umar came from the Roma bench and was chosen has the first team striker for rio, that should show you he's special so I don't know how awoniyi is better.
Quick question how many matches had iheanacho played for man city before he was regarded as one of the best young strikers in Europe? It took a season with alot of goals from the bench.
Imo umar is faster than awoniyi!!!
Then I said the seria a is a difficult league with a lot experienced players and there are lots of examples of young players who struggled at a young age in the league and there are also those who made it at a young age like you listed.

You guys are talking as if Omeruo hasn't been given more than a few chances to show what he can do. Folks, this is not the Omeruo of 2013 any more. It's about that we realize that all our players are average except for perhaps: VicMo, Mikel, and Ndidi.

O pari

Kog45:
I will never picked him ahead of Omeruo, him and Ekong lacks the experience as CB and their pairings always backfire, so better to pair Ekong and Omeruo or Awaziem and Balogun in case Balogun and Ekong pairing is not available for selection.

Liverpool and Copa America. Copa America was in 2011. They only put "Ajax" there because he spent half a season there. Is the ballon d orr not based on the calendar year?? They give the award out on January of the next year. The 2011 award was given out on January 9th 2012. So how can they take into consideration Suarez's performance of 2010?? Suarez made the 6th place mainly based on his Copa America performances...not the world cup.

Sir my comment was based on performance of Ekong and Awaziem partnership and made it cleared that better to have Ekong/Omeruo or Balogun/Awaziem if any of Ekong or Balogun is not available for selection, meaning in the absence of Balogun we go for Ekong/Omeruo and in the absence of Ekong we go for Balogun/Awaziem cos Ekong and Awaziem partnership lacks required experience

And who told you that Ekong/Omeruo's partnership would've performed any better than Ekong/Awaziem? And who told you that the coaches haven't tried all those possible scenarios/partnerships in training to see which ones work best?

Please, we need to give these coaches a little bit of credit because most of them understand the game and understand the team better than a vast majority of us.

Do you mean the Suarez that was the 6th best player in the world when he was at Ajax was an interesting upcoming player?

Do you mean the Suarez of Ajax who was awarded the world best top leagues goal scorer in 2010 was upcoming player?

Suarez was already the best striker in World before he came to Liverpool. Fact

Ronaldo was nobody in the Portuguese league. Two different case.

Besides, you claimed Suarez could not perform the same thing in Barcelona after he left Liverpool but facts on ground proved otherwise.. GBAM

Sturridge blossomed before he went to Liverpool. Fact

He already scored double digits goals with Chelsea before he was sent on loan where he also blossomed. Facts

YOu talk about goals and performance in the Eredivise as if that is the panacea of being world class.
Can you name the last 3 top scorers in the Eredivise? Are they world class? (That is if you can name them without Google)
Can you name Ajax captain this season? Is he world class? How about last season? The season before?

Finally, Suarez came in 6th in the Fifa ballon dor in 2011 on the back of his performance for Liverpool and the Copa America title which he won as the player of the tournament. The accolade had absolutely nothing to do with Eredivisie or Ajax. Next time, do your due diligence before rushing to post.

I still back Efe Ambrose to shine if given the opportunity.

To be crowned best CB in the Scottish premiership doesn't mean you are world class but it's q clear indicator of quality.

All our CB defenders are far from outstanding in thier leagues and or individual clubs.

This is the reality.

Why shouldn't Efe Ambrose be given a chance.

Firstly, you have no right to call anyone myopic, you could not even make a clear point on your argument with a lengthy write up, Umar selection in the Olympic don't prove his the best, every coach can make there choice with alot of factors which are not footballing coming into place.

secondly I never said Umar did bad in the Olympic, the whole team had a good outing with a bronze medal to prove. bringing iheanacho who is way ahead of him is what I don't understand, you said it took a season with goals from the bench before he was regarded as one of the best young stars, abeg they glue Umar ass ads to the bench in Roma? why can't he also go in score just like iheanacho.

Lastly you said Umar is faster than Awoniyi, I will leave that for your conscience to judge you

Played more as a CB.

Everything most not be argument, Awaziem is not a sure starter in Nantes, the last match he played for Nantes was over a month ago, he played left back against Marseille and played Right back against Toulouse.

though is versatility is an advantage but he look very much raw and unfinished product

the FIFA best player is judged from November to November, Suarez moved to Liverpool in January 2011, what business does his Ajax days have to do with his 6th place finish? That position was down to what he did for Liverpool in 2011 season and first part of the 2012 season, go and check the number of goals he scored then

first of all, if not for Umar we would have defeated Germany in the semifinal as simple as that and the number of chances he missed in the losers final was just baffling. if you are the striker in your team and your team scores five goals in a match without you having a hand in any then you are poor. he had a poor tournament as simple as that.

Umar is faster than Awoniyi. Awoniyi is not fast at all, it was exposed during the U20 when he had to play from the wings and during the Olympics qualifiers when he and Ajayi had to alternate between playing as a winger and a striker and his lack of pace was exposed.
