No matter who you be, the rules doesn't favour any past glory. It is based on your goals in a season.

This award is not for the best player in the world. It is for the best goal scorer in world/Europe. GBAM
So the best goal scorer in an inferior league automatically becomes the best in the world without proving themselves against the best teams?? So then Tresor Mputu was once the best striker in the world. Janko too.

Did he replicate the same performance in the next season and a half?? Under which coach did he score over 20 goals in a much tougher league?
Again - based on the IFFHS stats you brought - do you agree Hunterlaar was the best striker in the world at 2006?? Remember Hunterlaar moved from Ajax to Madrid while Suarez moved to Liverpool.

The fact still remains that Suarez made name for himself before he met Brender. EOD

ACCORDING TO FIFA RULES. The award is for the best goal scorer in the world.

If you fullil the criteria and you are awarded the medal, you are the best striker in the world.

Pray tell me, what is the award for?

Suarez scored 35 goals in the top 8 leagues in the Europe. Does that look inferior?

Rules
Only the leading five countries – Spain, Italy, Germany, France and England – in the UEFA rankings have two as their multiplier. This is to emphasise the difference in (international) performance level between clubs from those countries and those of other nations.

A player cannot play first in a summer league (e.g. Norway) and then in a winter league (e.g. Spain) and combine the points totals for each season

http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/news/newsid=1639415.html

The first pic is of the 09/10 standings and the second is of 10/11.

Ok. You used UEFA rating but I used FIFA rating.

According to FIFA rating, top 8 are in the same level. grin

And that was why FIFA gave it to Luiz Suarez. GBAM. grin

Even according to this UEFA rating, Suarez was in the top 5 best in Europe according to UEFA rating. grin

Thank you very much. grin

“If it was not for Brendan, then I know I would not be the same player that you see at Barcelona today."... Luiz Suarez on Brendan Rodgers.

"Playing in England where all the centre-backs are tall and strong, the long punt up the pitch is no good to me, but a quick ball to release me either side of them works well. Mostly, I need the ball on the floor and Brendan knew that and he also worked with me on the movements I could make to isolate defenders.

He was confident that if I could take them on one-on-one, I would be likely to beat them. He was keen to play to my strengths and my style suited his."... Luiz Suarez on Brendan Rodgers.

“He was very clever and told me that Liverpool would play possession football, as it would suit me."He helped me with my runs, arriving in the area at the right time and coming in from wide – rather than just waiting in the middle – which benefited my confidence.

“We worked hard on finding ways I could isolate players and then try to beat them, man on man. That was the only way I could succeed in England. […] If you punt a long ball up towards me and one of these [Premier League] defenders, I am not going to win it.“But the way Liverpool played, with the ball on the floor, and being released very fast to my feet, gave me a chance against the big guys. […] I wasn’t proven and I had to adapt to the Premier League, which Brendan knew."He knows all about English football and he educated me to become successful.”... Luiz Suarez on Brendan Rodgers

Does it change the fact that he was the 6th best player in the world and the highest goalscorer in the world (based on FIFA rating) before he met Brender Rodgers? Capital NO

Your point clearly stated Brendan Rodgers did not help Suarez, which Suarez clearly disapproves.

Of course, he did helped him but he was already a super star before he met Brender Rodgers. That's all.

Suarez believed without Brendan Rodgers, he would not have made the kind of impact he made in the EPL. He clearly states Brendan Rodgers educated him. Unless you want to argue with Suarez too.

That's Suarez opinion but facts on ground proved that he was already a super star before he met Brender Rodgers. Fact.

The bolded is for those who think u must be born in England to have the talent. My boys are making me proud and I pray it continues. Post world cup gonna be sweet with stiff competitions for places.

This guy could add some competition to Gwg, his partnership with Iheanacho during there under17 days could be an advantage to him

Why are some people comparing the dou of Awoniyi and Umar? Why bring down one kid to promote the other kid forgetting they are all ours and we ought to be happy they are coming up nicely? U guys do some stupid arguments here sometimes.

I want Sadiq to spend one more year in the Eredivisie but with a better team like Ajax, same with Awoniyi with a team like Anderletch. The future looks great.

how does comparison relate to bringing one down, comparing them shows they are doing something right.

Actually Eredivise gets a 1.5. That alone should show you that the Eredivise wasn't a top league at that time. Suarez wasn't yet World class at Ajax. His first season and a half at Liverpool showed it. He only scored 23 and 31 the next season when surprise surprise - who was coach again?

He was not world class, but was on the path to that, Brendan scouted him and I doubt he made him worldclass
