kolaish: OR maybe the competition in the flour business is more and DF is not the market leader unlike in the Sugar and Cement business where you have few players and the Dangote companies are the market leaders. |

Mpeace: Did you realized the market added momentum towards closing yesterday.I am not saying you will not get it at 12 but trying to let you know the bull we are talking about is here again.Take position in any stock of your choice NOW. |

safepaulooo: DF is in no way better than DS and salt in my opinion. Look at DF Q on Q and you begin to see what might likely going to happen in the next 2 to 3 quarters. Growth in the 3 companies will be challenging from next quarter going forward but it will be more difficult with DF. Disclosure; I am in DS and DF. |

We are at that time of the year when value investing decisions are most accurately made. Fundamental analysis proponents this will interest you. Will be worth the while, to therefore cherry pick stocks with great value but seriously undervalued now. Last year about this time, there were a handful of them ala Fidelity @ N0.90, UBA @ N4.50, Dangflour @N4.50, FBN @ N3.50, Zenith @N15.00 etc. For the benefit of NSEMPA members please. Disclosure: Yours truly have them all and cant be tempted to sell just yet as their dividend yield have become unbeatable. FA gurus we could uncover yet great value stocks again. Your honest opinions and supporting arguments pls. CC: wanaj0, pluto9, currentprice, emmanuelewumi, agbalowomeri, and the TA gurus fxuser, BullBearMkt, etc. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by safepaulooo(m): 9:43am On Apr 10, 2018 |
pluto09: In my opinion, the MM are playing a game to shake-off weak hands from their positions in the goldmine. Flour even going by consumption by the growing Nigerian population enjoys more patronage of its products and the flour market is still very much undersaturated despite the many players in it. |

safepaulooo: Never ever fall in love with any stock. That might cloud your judgement and make you not to notice glaring "red" flags. Just saying though.... 3 Likes |

GTB... Should we expect that cross deal at N41.50?? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 9:56am On Apr 10, 2018 |
safepaulooo: I don't worry myself about the day to day fluctuation in price of stocks I hold hence I care less with what those MM do. My focus is on the company and what might happen to it. One of the ways to be successful in this business is to be able to see things either positive or negative before the crowd, that is being proactive. 2 Likes |

wanaj0:Sir, You really don't seem to be a big fan of Alhaji. Even his refinery doesn't seem to impress you. What I think is, with or without shortcomings, the guy's still a good deal overall. From employment generation to driving import substitution, I think he's just alright. 2 Likes |

currentprice: Not sure how you arrive at that conclusion. when it comes to analysing a company. Emotions are set aside. You deal with available facts and make judgement call based on the information available to you. For Dangote Cement, there are few players with HIGH Barrier of entry. Dangote Cement is the market leader so IF I want to buy a cement company, I will buy Dangote Cement. It can control both the price and also the volume. See the use of cement for construction of roads for example. Moreover, there is really no substitute for cement. Hence, I can see a 'future' for Dangote Cement. Dangote Sugar is similar. Few players, relatively high barrier of entry. So there is a seeming monopoly. Dangote Sugar is market leader so can determine what goes on in the sector. Not much alternative/Substitute to Sugar. Dangote Flour is different. It is not the market leader. The barrier of entry is low with many flour milling company. Dangote cannot dictate the price. It is not compulsory to eat flour. At a certain price level, people will switch to alternatives. So don't see DF sustaining the current revenue and EPS growth rate. Not going to happen. For Tony and his companies, I watch with eyes wide happen. United Capital is significant in my holding because I 'trust' the GMD. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by wanaj0: 11:08am On Apr 10, 2018 |
awesomeJ: Not sure where you got that impression from. I only stated that during the forex crisis, Dangote was getting forex at subsidised rate from government. I also stated that I don't see him selling products in Naira. I am impressed by the refinery and petrochemical complex! He is bold and believe in Nigeria. There is always the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Fact is that the man thrives where there is monopoly and government support. He stays away from highly competitive sectors especially where the barrier of entry is low! He has failed in sectors where there is no government protection and is an all comers affair. Those are TRUTHS. BUY the TRUTH and SELL it not 1 Like |
