ugmmadueke: Hi brother, Ummmm......well see.....I'm trying to figure out how to respond to this. I appreciate your courage to mention me. Cause I'm quite sure you read my comment before posting yours. I wonder how you dug this old thread up? Anyway, I also saw your 2 comments over in the Romance section....where at least you put it all out there and stated your goal. But I don't quite understand why you wrote what posted here to me? 1 Like |

Hi I’m planning to marry a Yoruba man currently in the USA. He treats me well and tries to be honest about things. He’s been pursuing me for the past few years and has made it clear he wants to be married. We get along great and lots of humor and warmth. Things are not perfect but we always work through them maturely. Sometimes I think he’s too romantic. I know he needs his green card and I’ve assumed his visa is already expired. He’s met my family and I’ve only met his sister and all the relatives he has in this city but not his mother in Nigeria. He’s Muslim so he said he wants to have a Muslim ceremony in addition to going to the courthouse, having a ceremony for my family out here as well as the ceremony in Nigeria. He says his mother will be visiting the US this year and we can video chat her in a couple days. I’ve heard her voice on the phone already and I’ve seen her Facebook page so I know what she looks like. He’s been married 2 years and divorced already since being out here. He says his wife was abusive towards him and that he only married her because I stop talking to him when we first met because I was afraid of marrying an immigrant. He flips cars but I suspect he may be scamming on the side since sales appear to be slow. He told me he isn’t and that he has other business on the side and that he does deliveries too! But recently I’ve seen some clue of this at his home. I told him already that I wouldn’t help him if he is scamming and gets caught. I don’t mind marrying him so he can get a good job out here instead of small jobs or using someone else’s identity to work. I have noticed that he can be kind of controlling as in showing up to my apartment unannounced once . He said he wouldn’t do it again but I can tell that he panics when he doesn’t see me every day. Always try to reassure me that he’ll never leave me and that he won’t cheat on me that he is serious. Now that I suspect he is scamming I don’t feel comfortable with proceeding but I am afraid of what will happen if I break things off. I won’t waste too much time taking action I just figured I’d write about it. I feel kind of disappointed in myself but it was a calculated risk. I feel kind of disappointed in myself believing that he was making it on his own without having to scam and I was proud of him for that but if he got caught that will be the end of our relationship anyway. If he was lying about scamming then he could’ve been faking the whole relationship and may change after we get married. I thought I had chosen a good one just based on the way we get along & hownhe treats me. And I understand if he felt the need to scam in order to survive out here but now the reality of the situation is hitting me and I don’t know whether I should still trust him or not. Now I am seeing certain things in a new light like the way he insists that he can’t pull out during sex. The way he likes to go out a lot to clubs . The fact that he was looking for marriage ever since he came to the US. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Poet Heywhy speaks on the past! When we travel into our past, we tend to swim in rivers of memories while stirring waves of emotions. But, the important question is, do we wish to live in the past? Does our past interest us? HeyWhy speaks on Africa's past! What happened during the days of our father's? What was the schedule? This is poetry cum revelation, directly from the mouth of an African. You know, no one tells our story than we do!.. Enjoy http://www.whykeanthology.com/2018/04/time-past.html Proudly Whyke. |

Hello house, please I have some questions as regards obtaining a visiting visa to America, my bestfriend who is a PR is getting married to an American citizen, I have been denied study visas to Canada and subsequently America, my friend wants me to come over to his wedding and the wife is sending me an invitation, am a bit tensed as I have been denied visas to both America,UK and Canada on grounds that they were not sure I would come back should they grant me a visa, now to the reason am here to seek your opinions, I am the personal assistant to an area tax controller and director of taxes, I am his personal staff and he pays me around 60k, but outside that part time job, I am a blogger and own a blog which fetches me close to 1.6million a year, I have a company registered under my name by my dad, but it’s been inactive, I have been to Dubai five times or more, Southafrica once, so considering the fact that my boss is a high ranking government official and wants to draft letter stating he employed me and his paying me directly, does it count for anything? I am not willing to give any false info as I have never done once before, I am open to suggestions. |

odehbrainard: Why do you think you keep getting denied? What do you think may be the problem? |
Re: American Women That Marry Nigerian Men by odehbrainard: 7:47pm On Apr 24, 2018 |
Mobilia: I really can’t place a finger at why am being denied, the last study visa I applied for, I didn’t answer some of the questions confidently and was scared of the VO’s harshness, I faltered in some key questions cause he interviewed me over the normal 5mins, he kept on looking at my face and finally made the decision to deny me. |
Re: American Women That Marry Nigerian Men by Nobody: 2:23am On Apr 25, 2018 |
odehbrainard: Ok... At least you were honest....yeah it was probably because of your lack of confidence and extreme anxiety...which is normal in any scenario where one doesn't know what to expect. However, the interviewer could tell. He could tell that you weren't confident on what you were saying. You have to truly believe in "what" you are saying as well as "how" you say it. I know nothing about going through a visa process, but I do know that if you are passionate and honest about something, (for example a job interview), then it will shine through you. The interviewer probably was trying to determine what would make you any different than the tons of people he probably interviews daily...whether you were being honest...sincere....passionate (just my personal thoughts). I think on the U.S. student general visa enquiries thread, there's a female Nairalander (who's based in the U.S and who is now a naturalized citizen) who gives some advice on how to go through the interview process successfully.... That might help you... |
