Re: Help With Sludge... by Inception(m): 4:55pm On Apr 10, 2018 |
OgaKazeem: How bad is the sludge? has it been physically inspected? truth be told, getting rid of sludge in an engine requires complete teardown of top, block and bottom ends of engine. All oil passageways must be cleaned, and engine rebuilt with original OEM parts. Now this is expensive. My advice , take the blue pill( in Morpheus's voice) and remain in the matrix bruv ( i mean follow the Gazzuzz route ) |

Re: Help With Sludge... by Inception(m): 5:15pm On Apr 10, 2018 |
GAZZUZZ:I think the non-invasive method may cause more harm than good in this case( using diesel or atf in place of engine oil and running the engine for 5 -10 mins) it may end up dislodging sludge in some areas which might end up blocking smaller oil passageways ( similar to what stroke can do to a person) truth be told, that engine needs either full invasive method or outright replacement as you earlier proposed. |

Re: Help With Sludge... by AutoElectNG: 5:19pm On Apr 10, 2018 |
Inception: If my vehicle has sludge, I would not run the engine on just ATF, it would be mix of 3 parts engine oil, one part ATF at best and 2 parts engine oil, 2 parts ATF at worst. But I would also be prepared for the worst |
Re: Help With Sludge... by sooperrescue(m): 5:37pm On Apr 10, 2018 |
Use engine flush. It will remove the sludge and then use 5w30 SJ engine oil. Look for it and if you cant get it, upgrade to API SN 5w30. Gazzuzz will still chop for the money as he will sell you the oil. If he is still doing shakara, get in touch with me and I will buy it from him and add my commission. I sell good engine flush too. One from Holts UK. It looks like engine oil but very good and the other is from the US, Jensen, big and very powerful. They all work for 5 mins and you are good to go 1 Like |

Inception: nah latter I see this one. OgaKazeem: do shorter oil changes, with mobil 1 5w30, 2,000 miles max, it will de-sludge engine very rapidly. |

AutoElectNG: tnx bro... m on it gone tru it bro... i realise majority suggested going slow... by switching to synthetic oil like Gazzuzz suggested and doing a frequent oil change... i think dts d option i will take. in line with this guys hope there wnt be any side effects switching from 20w50 (non synthetic oil) to 5w-30(synthetic oil)? |
Re: Help With Sludge... by GAZZUZZ(m): 6:47pm On Apr 10, 2018 |
OgaKazeem: your engine will burn 5w30 engine oil (for sure) the aim of using the oil, is essentially for its cleaning agents. You will still have to go back to 20w50. Meanwhile you are yet to solve the cause of the sludge, because it will come back if it is not fixed. |

GAZZUZZ: based n enquiry from the owner... use of low quality engine oil and long overdue periods of engine service r d onli things. apart from that, nothing else stands out. owner claims vehicle has been in perfect condition until recently. boss are there any other causes of sludge? |
