Alikote:Sure sir. But if the CBN still maintains a tightening stance, they will issues OMO bills to make up. Remember Q4' 2015 when rates were super low, T-bills volume was huge, but OMOs were pretty scarce. I think MPR was set at 11 or 12% then. This CBN I'm seeing doesn't want single digits for T-bills yet, but I'm sure the DMO does. They want the least possible debt service cost. I am only being optimistic o. You know optimism sometimes makes you have a biased view, so maybe I do. |

Good evening investors, My friend just bought treasury bill worth 6.5M for 93 days as indicated in the mail from the bank. He got debit of 6,317,821.92 from his Diamond Bank account. Please, how many % was he given? How much does he receive upon maturity? I n my friend don’t know much about it as he was guided by someone, so i need a clarification because i am interested. Thanks and God bless. |

stanleyuzoh022: If what you stated above is true, then go back to the mail from the bank and the rate (%) must be in it. 2. Hr will receive N6.5m at maturity. |

eniorisha:Are you certain, the bills will mature on Friday 13th? Cos the next date for NTB maturity is Thursday 19th. If however what you said is true, perhaps you were sold OMO bills rather than NT bills. In that case, the earliest time you can reinvest is that same Friday 13th in the secondary market. But it's very unlikely for you to get 364 days. Given that bills from the last auction will have run for 8 days by that time, the longest tenor that'll be available to you should be 356days. However, you may want to wait till Monday 16th, as it has been said here that FBN tends to offer juicy rates on Monday mornings. If you choose to wait for the next primary market auction then submit your bid for the 18th April auction by Monday 16th, or if possible by Friday 13th when your funds reach you. 1 Like |

stanleyuzoh022:Let me first ask, how come when a friend invests, it's not that friend that comes to ask questions about the investment, but rather the friend's friend. It makes me think sometimes that perhaps the friend's friend is the friend himself. Any ways, using r= 100I/PT. r=(100*182178.08*365)/(6500000*93) r=11% Friend's bills were discounted at 11%. True yield is 11.32% 4 Likes |
