Congrats to all those who received ITA today.
I just entered the pool today (471), looking forward to next draw.

I want to encourage anyone who hasn't written ielts before and may be getting scared and feeling they might have to do it severally several times. Pls just relax and practise as much as you can, and you would do okay.
The BC official where I wrote asked if it was my first time writing, I said yes.. And he was like "and do you think it will be your last" (with some attitude).. And that was just before my speaking. I said a resounding yes and thankfully had good scores.

I am silent reader, but I just wanted to drop this.

Got d same msg too.

I wrote a short letter of explanation, attached my IJMB result and faxed it to WES. My status changed to awaiting verification although it also shows awaiting receipt of IJMB result directly from d issuing school. I'm waiting to see wat d status will show after Unilorin verifies.

If it's IJMB, you might want to leave out d result, try only d letter and see wat happens next.

Thanks for your response, I actually start from 100 Level, but for Engineering graduates Unilorin usually send transcript from 200 Level even my student copy start from 200 Level. I am confuse at the moment. I hope to see someone with similar challenge.

Common IELTS listening spelling error. It's "except" NOT "expect".

I'm sure you have scaled through IELTS hurdle already.

Good morning,

Please I have a question about the WES application.

When I was trying to fill the form for IRCC (immigration refugees and citizenship), it asked me address for delivery? Is it my address or which one do I include.

In general how does the verification process work in terms of WES and Canadian Immigration. Thanks

My venue for the Speaking exam was also Colonades so I can relate.
-Be calm, this is maybe the most important thing
-Your invigilator will most likely be Nigerian and will probably have a fake British accent and talk with a sing-song voice, but do not let that throw you off. You do NOT need to fake an accent
-Pay attention to your pronunciations, especially word endings e.g. “that” should not be pronounced as “tha”
-If your exam is so close, you probably know the format already, 1st(introduction) 2nd(1-2min speech) and 3rd(Related or General follow up questions to section 2)
-It’s normal to be nervous just before you start, ease into it in your section one, the introduction, the questions are quite generic “Tell me about yourself and where you grew up” (Personally, I went in to the exam with a few ideas on what to talk about, my parents, siblings, the neighborhood I Grew up in..etc. that way my response was structured and coherent)
-You don’t need to use big vocabulary, use words you’re comfortable with it, the examiner can easily tell you don’t know the true meaning of a word
-I don’t think you lose marks for stuttering, they understand you may be nervous, don’t let it bother you, just be sure to correct any words you pronounced incorrectly or wasn’t audible
-I didn’t speak up to 2 mins in my section 2, I talked for about 1:30s, I didn’t think I had to, I felt I addressed the subject matter adequately. I am not sure it affected my score. I got 7.5

All the best
Thanks for the clarification

Good morning house:

I need your advise, should i tell WES i no longer want to by Bachelor degree to be assessed? That they should proceed with my MSc. My assessment has been put on hold since my BA transcript is not available.

Thanks

Good Morning Duplex grin... You should have evaluated only your highest degree (MSc) in the first place... Contact them using the 'Contact us form' and tell them to remove the BSc.

Pls I need your help e-house, I want to request for ref letter from work but they are asking for the address is the immigration address so they can properly address it.. I have seen a sample of the ref letter from page 0 but it had Nova scotia as the state/province ie

IRCC (in full),
Intake office,
Sydney,
Nova Scotia

So am wondering if that's the address or I should just not put any province ie IRCC Canada...

Pls your urgent response will be appreciated

Hello house, you all are doing a great Job. I have a few questions.
1. Can a retired Poilce officer apply for Express Entry
2. If yes, what are the kind of Jobs available for him when he gets to Canada based on his so many years of experince?
Your response will be appreciated, Thanks

you can use that address too or make it generic...the most important thing is for the letter to meet the requirements in terms of content such as working hours per week, annual income and any benefits from your employer, duration of employment etc ...any omitted details by me should obviously be in that sample letter in page 0

I think its gonna be hard for him to get enough points because I assume he should be above 60

That address is fine. It's what I used too. I don't think the address itself is a big deal, focus more on ensuring the contents meet the requirements.

Hello guys,
I have to write Ielts for 21st April and i was assigned the speaking test date Monday 16th by BC. Problem is I am unavailable that day as I am out of the country to be back in Lagos, Nigeria on Weds 18th. I thought the tests is taken on the same day

What should I do? Would I go ahead to write the LRW on 21st?

Or just forfeit the test all together. MOD IDP has a test date for 12th May.

Direct Entry people that have crossed this hurdle your help is needed.

I am watching this closely too for when it's time to evaluate my BEng (needed for another matter)
MSc got me covered for EE

*Updated* -

For Cambridge A/AS Levels (Certifying Statement)/ transcript to WES
https://certstat.cambridgeinternational.org/

Would cost £43.77 for normal unregistered mail

BC don't reschedule for speaking..when you first registered for the exam, you must have seen an email where they state that speaking test is done within 7 days of the written test. You can go ahead to write LRW on the 21st for practice sake but I'll recommend booking a test with IDP. I'm writing on the 12 May as well

Can I email them now or wait until speaking test day (Monday) and request for the test to be taken on the same day as LRW?

Not to burst anyone's bubble but for the said person to have statutorily retired, he must've either;
1. Been in service for a period not exceeding 35 years
2. Attained the official retirement age of 65 or thereabout
3. Been terminally ill and forced into retirement

Either of these would be a major militating factor to the person's eligibility in the first place. Sorry, there's likely to be no hope (through express entry).
