Yes I have formatted it and It works well after then. But d problem started again when I inserted a flash drive to d extent that some buttons were malfunctioning but it stopped when I remove the flash. That made me assumed that the cause is the virus.

After formatting, did you drive the system with a driver?

lol

shocked whoa!! so... how do I back up my files (using an external storage device) ?
If you can still use your current operating system, then just use an external storage device ( like an external hard drive or a flash drive depending on the size of your files) to backup the files.

If you can no longer use your OS, then you'll take out the hard drive from your laptop, put it in an external hard drive casing(comes with a USB cable). Plug into another working laptop that has another external storage connected to it. copy your files away to that storage.

*hope this is clear*

pls, since you know the fault of my system... how much do you think it'll cost to repair it.

last time.... i had a problem withbmy hard drive and it cost me about 11 thousand naira to repair it.

you may think it's a lie... but when guess what? when i would tell people how much it'd cost me to repair it, they'd be like... "dem don gba you"

i don't want that kind of ripoff again... so pls, how much would it cost?

Lol grin

Well, here's the truth :
Damaged or faulty Hard drives cannot be repaired!!
Best you can do is to recover data from the drive.

Depending on the size of your hard disk, if you had a
replacement for NGN 11,000 then it would have been well worth it. But repair? I naaah.

The fact that you used the word "repair" in your request totally shows you still didn't know what transpired!!

Anyway, your HDD wasn't REPAIRED.

If you rip someone off, they'll find out someday, somehow. I guess you've found out a long time ago. Well, you just confirmed it!!

.... and no, I'm not "repairing" (in lasisis voice). grin

I'll run the whole show for NGN 5000.
...no, we're not buying anything. Just paying for brain and time... That's all.

Hello.
Look on your keyboard, there's might be a function key with the sound Icon on it? Toggle this key by pressing it or fn+the key...

... If it worked, I want to know how hard you spanked yourself grin

It could be drivers too. What's the model of your laptop?

I have an HP Pavilion dv4 1100ea notebook system. It comes with a factory installed OS of Windows Vista but I installed Windows 10 Home as a clean installation cheesy
It has a 500GB HDD(upgraded from 320) and 4GB RAM. The GPU is Nvidia GeForce 9200M GS. And the CPU is Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 running at 2.0Ghz
It works fine except for a slight glitch. It suddenly turns off after about 5 minutes when playing a game
Since I upgraded the hard drive, I only have PPSSPP installed on it with only 4 games. Two God of War games, PES 2016 and Tekken which are not visually intensive
Thinking it was an overheating problem, I opened it up and cleaned the whole system. The fan was clogged up and I cleaned it. I coupled it back. But the issue persists. And it's not an overheating issue. I don't have a temperature monitoring app but I'm pretty sure that the temperature is not more than 50C.
I also re-attached the CPU when cleaning it and I had to remove the heat sink but I didn't apply thermal paste cos I don't even know where to get it. Could that be the issue?
And it never does this when watching movies(I watched movies for over 10 hours yesterday with the charger plugged in). Or could it be a problem of it being plugged in for too long.
Please, help me cos it's annoying when Kratos is about killing a beast and it just goes off

Hello,

I had a notebook that crashed late last year and wouldn't come on. I gave it out recently, although I retrieved the hard drive for keeps. Today, I tried loading up the hard disk on one of my computers with a USB cable, but the computer could not detect it.
Fortunately, after doing some research on the internet, I discovered an application, Minitool Partition Wizard, which detected the drive but as a "Bad Disk." I have tried the inbuilt partition recovery option of the software, but I couldn't recover or access the files.
Is there a way to fix the drive or at least recover the files saved inside?

Thanks.

If you are comfortable with CLI then try TestDisk

Hello.
Weldone oga... Weldone oo grin

If this happened the very first time you installed the game, then that game isn't for that system... The system might meet minimum requirements but not good enough...

Try playing solitaire(sorry, you're on win 10) it will not go off!

Meet any engineer to help with paste, let's see if it goes off in such a short time.

*cheers*

grin did you say God of war isn't graphics intensive grin

I play God Of War on my phone with that PPSSPP emulator on 2GB RAM and it doesn't even lag at all. And before I even play it on the PC, I end all unnecessary tasks with task manager just to make it run normally.

And at times, the freaking laptop powers on, on its own. I don't know which ghost is haunting me. And anytime it happens that way, it beeps erratically. Until I open the lid, close it and open it again angry
By the way, I don't have any engineer that can give me thermal paste
And I definitely can't go back to solitaire and minesweeper angry

Hello

Lool...

It's still the same windows 7!

What happened was that, the theme changed.

The best way to get rid of this error is to have a clean Re-install of your operating system.

Don't forget to backup your files.

Hello.

Let's break it down

(1) Your PC went into automatic repair.

(2) You attempted a format, which didn't work.

(3) You encased it - in an external casing, connected it to a another computer, the computer didn't recognise it.

Question.

a. Did you get the laptop as a brand new?

b. Does it have a recovery partition?

c. Does the laptop still show automatic repair, as we speak?

You can call /WhatsApp me on 08128714767

Hello.

Macbooks are one of the top rated laptops we have around ( grin Linux people, I'm not debating the OS ooo, just talking of the hard ware), So detecting issues at times can be pretty straightforward and at other times a little complicating.

What was the glitch you detected before you attempted a recovery?
