phase1: Your story happened in your mind. STEAL ?? Do not be ridiculous. There will be a contest. What your folk need to do is learn how to build bridges not all this noise. Who in this Nigeria do you have good relations with?? The Fulani as long as you recognize YOUR PLACE as ttheir boys as has always been the case 1960 1965 1979 1983 The way to an EBoe presidency involve a great deal of humility which Eboes can never muster. Bitter truth. You are filled with empty hubris and other Nigerians see through it all 2 Likes |

0monnak0da: Stop playing the 'other nigerians' card to buy comradeship from people who have rejected you. Recent political trends show that you yorubas are the most distrusted people down south. The rest of south see you as doubly-faced januses who must not be taken serious. You should know that by now except you want to bury your little head in the sand as usual. The rest of the southern region have always voted as one except you yorubas. The next southern president CAN NEVER BE yoruba, they will not reward your judas-like behaviour with the presidency. The rest of the south won't allow you to eat your cake and still have it and I know you know that. Bore me with more tales. 1 Like |

0monnak0da:Ekwueme and many others Nigerians contested during the PDP primary and not the general election, stop sugar coating lies. The SE caucus led by Senator Jim Nwobodo voted for Obasanjo against Ekwueme during the Jos PDP convention. Only Obasanjo and Olu Falae were the major contestant during the general elections. And why was that? Because the whole nation at time came to a consensus to give Abiola's mandate to someone from the SW. And do not forget that had the SE at that time kicked against it, and supported the north to retain power, do you think you would had an Obasanjo as president? Big No! But they back down and supported you and today you have the mouth to speak. You talk about burning bridges, which section in Nigeria has built more bridges than the Igbos. The only time that the Yoruba's built a political bridge outside their region was during the last election where Buhari won. It's on record that since independence till now, we've voted other regions into power including your own Obasanjo. So when it comes to building bridges don't go there. Now despite all our input to national cohesion you are coming to judge the Igbo nations patriotism to IPOB's push for Biafra. Are you people well at all? So we should now judge the whole north's patriotism because of Boko-Haram/ herdsmen activities and the Yoruba's on OPC/Badoo boys activities. All you guys see is Biafra, but you've not ask yourselves questions why after about 50 years since the end of the war a certain section is still crying against marginalization. The SE region is the only section of Nigeria that is yet to produce the president and still the section of the country with 5 states, the only ones with fewer senate and house of rep members, as well as many other political inequalities against them and you think they won't be agitations. Do the right thing and these cries will die a natural death. If the SE had swallowed their pride and enemity with you for a just cause in voting a South westerner in power in 1999 and 2003 don't you think history beckons you do the same to them? Now that the table has turned to prove yourselves by voting an Igbo come 2023, you are trying to play smart and bring up Yoruba presidency. You guys should keep up the good work. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

phase1: South There is nothing like South politically .Only a child would say that> Go and find out if you do not know. The voting history of every group in the south. Ijaw never vioted for Awolowo rather ther preferred Fulani and you did the same . Now you are saying south?? In fact we voted Jonathan in 2011 so they owe us not the other way round You might think this is blufff but the reality is Yoruba reconciled themselves a long time ago to opposition politics. FROM DAY ONE. Why is it that in 2015 the SW states left PDP ?? That is something you folk will never do because you are so desperate to be in the centre . Still in spite of forming every single central government in Nigeria since independence except this one. You are still complaining that Yoruba sabotage seaport in the East. We must be very powerful to do this from opposition. Our father Awolowo taught us well. STAND ON PRINCIPLE. You on the other hand are very cheap selling yourselves for a pittance yet you complain of neglect. Whether we are president or not it makes no difference to us but do not forget history. 1960 1965 1979 1983 if you are too young ask your elders By the way how are the Yoruba classes in Lagos going? 2 Likes |

phase1:The east have already reciprocated a good gesture to the west by voting Obasanjo. History has taken note of that and if the Yoruba's want to play smart come 2023 the repercussions will be too great to handle. 1 Like |

Chiwude: U are very smart bro. When I see all these people talking about Igbo people not aligning or building bridges I wonder. Since the 70's when we voted Hausa and Yoruba candidates we were doing what? Burning bridges? The Yoruba people like your fellow dueller have never voted for a candidate from another tribe when a fellow Yoruba man is also on the ballot and 2015 was the first time when the south west aligned with the north yet they keep claiming that we dont build bridges like though Nigeria's history started in 2015. 1 Like 1 Share |

Maduawuchukwu: We will never allow you rewrite history?? Since 1970s? voted Yoruba candidates? There was ONLY ONE ELECTION in the 70s you DID NOT vote a Yoruba Candidate There were two elections in the 80s YOU DID NOT vote a Yoruba candidate There was an election in 1960 and 1965 you either voted for your fellow Ibo or your Fulani master or your Ibo candidate went into coalition with Fulani against Yoruba in opposition. That has been our experience of each other. How come then despite all your subservience when the North felt that power had to come south they did not favour you who had always been their boys? Because that is how they see you. you are their boys. As far as South is concerned there has NEVER been political friendship bewteen the SW and SE . The difference i we do not take it personal. We have game spirit. We have never attacked or killed your people in our land. After the war you got your properties back but politically we cannot work with you because you politicians cannot work with ours. Let us try and accept that without bitterness or blame games . So you need to figure out how to convince Your Fulani friends to support Ibo Presidency because Yoruba willl not support it unless there are only Ibo candidates 2 Likes |

0monnak0da:I see names like Afam who is not objective and is politically naive as well as the unrepentant Igala mad Chino who is a tribalist to the core. So these are the Igbos you are bringing up, Tanoid and Peter Obi paid goons who were fighting for their masters. Did you see the likes of Berem, Obiageli, Abagworo, Ezeagu, Bigfrancis, Pazienza or even me there? We weren't there because we are not paid tribalist who could not see beyond their nose. How can we forgot fast that we are marginalized also to go join some fools to celebrate another group crying against marginalization. Please stop opening this type of thread because it's filled with tribalist. During and after the 2015 election, I have been neutral and never joined other naive fools in their macabre dance of shame. You could as well search on nairaland to check up my stance then. |

0monnak0da: You wish that there is nothing like South minus yoruba politically. Well, historical records show that the rest of the south (SE/SS) have always voted as one and a yoruba candidate can never divide them. They know better. yorubas are 'pseudo-southerners, so you expected to believe there is nothing like the better south. You've come to terms with the fact that you are the prodigal Judas of the south and wish it to be politically destroyed lest your earn you recompense. It doesn't work that way buddy. |

Chiwude:You deliberately miss the point. In 1999 You did not swallow pride , you did not back down, You contested and LOST in the PDP in the person of Ekwueme was he making jest . YOU LOST in 2003 Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu CONTESTED and LOST the General Elections if he had won would he have conceded to Yoruba If Alex Ekwueme had won the PDP ticket would he have surrrendered it? There was nothing any more special about the Ibo position than that of the Efik or Urhobo or Kanuri So you now engineer a situatiion where there are Ibo candidates in PDP and APC and see whether Yoruba will start Radio Oduduwa or demand Oduduwa republic? We will not if that happens we will still choose one candidate. But that wil not happen by bluster or bullying. You conveniently forget that there was an election in 1993 . If you want a consensus candidate go and win an election and have it annulled for no reason. Abiola won his election fair and square Obasanjo was not our own. He was not our choice. You voted him out of spite and as far as we are conerned e have not had a president. TO claim you voted a Yoruba President you MUST vote one of OUR choosing BEFORE we vote for you unless you can convine APC and PDP to give you the tickets. Good luck with that 2 Likes |

phase1: You must be a child to write that nonsense Rivers state and Cross River State voted in Melford okilo and Clement Isong in 1979 from NPN while Bendel State voted in Ambrose Alli of UPN Awo's party . Those Three states were what is now the so called SS Bendel state was part of the Western Region and later broke away as MidWest. politically they were never aligned with the East. Find out about the likes of Enahoro. Do not forget that Delta and Edo State are West of the Niger and were part of the Western Region So of the 9 states in the South in 1979 UPN had 5 NPP(Zik) had 2 and 2 went with NPN(shagari) The so called SS then is Rivers/Bayelsa Delta/Edo Cross River/Akwa Ibom. Their voting hstory is well know do not tell childish lies. 2 Likes |

0monnak0da:You are saying that we contested and lost. How did we contest and lost? The candidates that we supported won, because we didn't play the vote our son or party card. The SE caucus voted against our son in the primaries and voted massively for Obj in 1999. In 2003 when Ojukwu contested, he didn't win any state in the SE, although he got up to 1 million votes and came 3rd but our preferred candidate was Obasanjo and he won. In 2007 the likes of Rochas and NOI contested the PDP primaries and came 2nd and 3rd, yet we voted and supported Umaru Yaradua to emerge victorious against a viable option that had a SEasterner as a Buhari running mate then. GEJ contested in 2011 and he got our votes, the same happened in 2015 were we lost. Now compare it with yours: In 1979 elections we split our votes, majority going for Shagari and the rest for Zik. But for you, you threw your votes behind Awolowo's UPN. In 1993, you rallied behind your brother while we supported Tofa, although your brother won but it was annulled. In 1999, you stood behind Falae your brother and he lost to Obj the northern and eastern supported candidate, still your brother again. In 2003, there was a reconciliation between ACN and Obasanjo your brother who sought your help against Buhari and he strolled to victory again. In 2007, you supported ACN candidate Atiku against PDP's Yar'adua. In 2011, you split your votes between GEJ and Tinubu backed Buhari. In 2015, you fully supported and voted for APC Buhari against GEJ. Now you see that unlike the Igbos you have always supported candidates with close affinity to you by tribe or by party. |
Re: SW Will Be Foolish 2023 by 0monnak0da: 7:18pm On Apr 12, 2018 |
Chiwude: Your preferred choice was Obasanjo good for you. Did you sign an agreement with him? Hopefully he will write a public letter soon in support of your clamour. For us we have no business with Ibo presidency not because of hate. It simply is not in our interest. We voted Jonathan in 2011 nd in 4 years we realized we have nothing to gain from another 4 years. During that time the Ibos were strong in hs government and revealed a shocking antipathy toward Yoruba so we have confirmed that we have nothing to gain from Ibos politically. That could change in future if bith sides chnge their attitude but for now it is not happening. The other thing is Yoruba are very focused on a Yoruba integration and regional economic agenda with Lagos as the engine. We will build our region around Lagos If we get that and never get presidency again we are fine. Presidency is nice but secondary. 1 Like |

0monnak0da:Well, I understand your point. No acrimony towards your view whatsoever. Obj was our choice and we voted him against your preferred Olu Falae. And with that we helped put a Yoruba man in the list of duly elected former presidents in our annals. Maybe your leaders can do the same by voting Rochas to spite the SE. All join! Well, it's my hope that you achieve your regional intergration. While we achieve ours too. 1 Like 1 Share |

Chiwude: We are not spiteful. If you sit down and ccarefully analyse how we vote it is aways self interst even if it means losing whereas your approach is to be on the winning side always only this time you miscalculated. We believe genuinely in Regional government. We do not believe the FG can impact our lives significantly and that is why your past leaders have always been in government with the Fulani. You helped Obasanjo like many other Nigerian groups which have not become President , Edo , Jukun, Ebira, Urhobo Efik etc. Aim to put us in a similar position where we have no choice but to vote an Ibo when both APC and PDP field Ibo candidates. Persuade your Fulani friends because the Yoruba will not engineer that for you Obasanjo's emergence was not in the Yoruba interest, the interest of restructuring nor resource control Go and look at this thread like I suggested. https://www.nairaland.com/745731/yoruba-marginalization-elders-met-jonathan 1 Like |

Chiwude:If there are only Ibo candidates we would have no choice but to vote one of them just like was the case when you voted OBJ , your only choice was another Yoruba but first you will have to win the party mandate just lik OBJ did against Ekwueme. That is the logic. At the party level Yoruba willl contest and if you are honest with yourself it would be ridiculous to ask Yoruba not to contest in APC . I do not need to rehash the history of APC here ,we are already familiar with it. Definitely in 2023 APC will present a Yoruba though I personally will not vote for such a person I suspect the SW would so really 2023 is not looking good If I was an Eboe I would be more concerned with restructuring and resource control Inugo |

phase1: distrusted must have new a new meaning in the dictionary... didn't Yorubas voted massively for Jonathan in 2011...he won virtually all Yoruba states(except osun) and in 2015, Jonathan still got more than 45 percent of the votes...in my state of Osun,Jonathan got over 289000 in 2015 votes despite the massive propaganda of our governor.. is ur distrusted definition also extended to the Yorubas who still believed and voted for Jonathan in 2015 or they are also to be blamed collectively? maybe you need to check the dictionary because it really appears you are such an ignorant fellow 1 Like |

Yorubas votes are so inconsequential yet you called then betrayals because their votes were significant in electing this current useless president.... and we see how igbos wailed on Nairaland how the Yorubas helped Installing Buhari... better learn to be civil, and gracious .....for what is worth,a lot of Yorubas would gladly cast their votes for an Igbo candidate without a blink.... 1 Like |
