Dear All, Great job you all are doing here. Very big thumbs up. I always make sure i catch up on you guys daily like a "to do". Just wanna chip in something. For those that wants to boost CRS points on educational level. The M.Sc in NOUN is actually 3 semesters but you can finish in 2 semesters depending on your pace. M.sc also earns you more points than 2 or more certificates. My two cents 7 Likes |

Hi guys, Congrats to all who received ITA esp the 11/04. And to all, in whatever stage you are now, your next step is imminent. Be positive, it will come before you know it. And from my experience, don't allow worries to come to you. It might obstruct other things that will come your way to the extent that when the much expected eventually comes, you will notice you did yourself a disservice as it wasn't worth the headache. I live and study in Canada. Got married in 2017 and applied for my wife to join me on SOWP but was denied twice. Her first denial was because of relationship proof. Although we included our marriage certificate and court registration, the officer indicated in the GCMS note that we didn't provide sufficient evidence for marriage (no relationship pictures and evidence of dating before marriage). On the contrary, my wife had all these documents included in her application but the VFS agent removed the pictures. Painful!! For her second application, we added pictures dating back to 6 yrs, call logs, chats, and email conversations. Yet, it came back with a refusal. Now, travel history, purpose of visit, and current employment situation etc. The denial was completely a tough one; difficult to bear. My IELTS result was 7.5 7.5 8 7 (that was before I got married). But it didn't suffice. Tried another one after marriage thinking I was close but it went worse 7 6.5 5.5 7. Immediately registered again and it was a disaster: 6.5 7 8.5 7.5. I knew my weakest point was listening and that is even where I needed an 8. So I gave up coupled with busy school schedule. However, after the last denial, I resolved to give IELTS and my research work fair amount of time. Summary, April 06 result favored us: 8 7.5 8.5 8. So I went back to my EE profile that was 402, tried adding my wife but couldn't. Without patience to read up on how to go by it, my office colleague advised I can withdraw my previous and create a new one. Fine! I did that. I was already on 447 (CRS tool). But when I finished filling up the profile, I got an email that I am no longer in the pool as I am not qualified. Chei!!!! What have I done to Canada? Little did I know I selected the wrong degree. So the account became ineligible. My colleague seeing my condition, had to create the account himself (at my watch just to ensure accuracy). When he finished, I was on 447. Thank God But ever since then, I never slept. I kept analyzing CIC probably CRS cut off. Reading ministerial instructions. Trying to figure out what prevented a Monday draw as it was 2 weeks ago the previous was done. Thoughts thoughts thoughts..........just thought. All proved to be useless. Yesterday, just gisting with my colleague still on the possible draw, and trying to show him the last ministerial instruction. Boom!!!! I noticed the draw already happened. But I never got an email!!! Another obituary. Nothing worked anymore. I checked my CIC account, email (God knows how many), read online the possible cause of ITA delay. Well, the email came when I didn't expect. I was excited but already tired. Morals: Try and relax the anxiety you can cause yourself during the wait time. It can be overwhelming but just try and manage it well. I have learnt my lessons. For those who intend to take the IELTS test, well many are easy going with the such standardized tests, a lot will fall for it. All you need to do is to master the test structure. It does not necessarily test your English ability. It basically test your "IELTS test taking skills". So learn it before going to the test. It worked for me; I am sure it will work for you too. Now, the next phase.......Just hoping I can remain calm. Please are there persons (other persons recommendation will also be appreciated) who had one of the spouse in Canada and the other in Nigeria that got PR approved? I just need to know what my wife and I need to know especially marriage proof since we are just 7 months old in the journey. Cheers guys 37 Likes |

bizguru000:So when you apply for a remark, you get a bank draft of #15k for British council. If you are upgraded, the money goes back to the account the draft was debited from. In my case, I used my account for the draft on behalf of my spouse and the refund was sent to the same account I used. |

I appreciate your response sis. @Happytbaby thank you too for your response. Another post ITA question again, how does one deal with a gift deed (the documentation) where the one giving the gift is not based in Nigeria? Can the person just sign, scan back and send to me while i sign in Nigeria and notarize in the courts here? Would the court notarize a document which is not in the original copy? Help anyone! |

Rijo02: I was also denied twice for not satisfying that I'll return after my authorised period of stay. I'm in the EE process now. I'm the PA residing in Nigeria, application has been submitted and is still being processed. Spouse did medicals in Canada while I did mine here in Nigeria and we've passed medicals. Spouse got Canadian PCC and Nigerian PCC. Your government issued marriage certificate is enough proof of marriage. When PPR comes, you should reach your visa office on how to proceed as most of the EE people who have received PPR with a spouse in Canada didn't update as to how they got it done. Please stop listening to those your fellow international students, thier ignorance is something else. ( That was how spouse told me a particular province will grant PR status after residing there for 6 months) 5 Likes |
