American, British and French forces launched airstrikes on two chemical weapons facilities and a military command post in Syria on Friday night in retaliation for a chemical attack that left up 75 civilians dead last week.

Donald Trump addressed the U.S. while British Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel Macron both gave speeches justifying the use of force.

Trump delivered a national address just after 9 pm EDT as missiles rained down on three sites in Syria.

He said he ordered the precision strikes in direct retaliation to Bashar al-Assad's 'evil and despicable' poison gas attack on the rebel-held town of Douma.

Donald Trump hailed a 'perfectly executed strike' after he authorized a series of missile attacks against Syria in response to the Assad regime's chemical attack against its own people.

The president is pictured addressing the nation on Friday evening from the Diplomatic Room of the White House, announcing retaliatory airstrikes on Syria.

He said he ordered the precision strikes in direct retaliation to Bashar al-Assad's 'evil and despicable' poison gas attack on the rebel-held town of Douma.

British Prime Minister Theresa May described the coalition air assault as a 'limited and targeted strike that does not further escalate tensions in the region'

Cowards.

No enlightened person can fall for this scam. Only fools.

Why were these strikes carried out BEFORE the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) inspectors can garner evidence about the alleged chemical attacks?

Its clearly to cover up their tracks & destroy evidence.

The West has accused Assad of gassing his people (again) without evidence. The last time this happened, the chemical weapons manufactured in the US was found on rebels bankrolled by Saudi Arabia through the CIA to fight Assad. The apprehended rebels claimed they were handed a package & didn't know it contained chemical weapons (yet they used it 2 kill hundreds grin). The US role in this chemical attack was on the spotlight. In a flash, this revelation was buried. (google more on this fact)

This time, Syria & Russia provided evidence that the chemical attacks were carried out by rebels (backed by the US) in a bid to blackmail Assad. OPCW was invited to carry out proper investigations about the true origin of the chemical weapons only for the West to carry out these attacks hastily.

What are they hiding?

Where did all these originate from? Lets go back a bit...

Last week Trump hinted at pulling US forces of out Syria finally. Who stood to lose from this? Syria's Middle Eastern enemy - Israel.

Mere days after Trump's words, Israel bombed a Syrian airbase on the laughable excuse that Iran (their archenemy) was using the airbase for operations. 5 out of the 8 missiles fired were downed by Syrian air defence.

This didn't elicit any major response from Trump so what happened next? A chemical attack on civilians in the last city held by rebels (backed by the US & co). Next thing we know, Trump will remain in Syria to fight.

What does this tell us? Israel stands to lose alot if US troops pull out of Syria & probably carried out this attack on innocent Syrians in a bid to keep their diabolical desire for warfare ongoing. Absence of US troops in the region would lead to lran (whose influence has risen greatly in the region) to finally have the upper hand and most likely help reclaim Golan Heights from Israel.

Israel would be alone in this fight so it makes perfect sense why they would mastermind a dastardly attack of this calibre to keep their most powerful ally around them.

Ask yourselves...

Why would Assad be stupid enough to gas his people which makes absolutely no sense because he has already won the war.

This is wrong, they are saying Al-Assad gassed 75 of his citizens without concrete evidence to link him to the act. My question now is, who is going to hold the US accountable for the casualties of the airstrike Trump just ordered? cos the number is definitely going to be more than 75.

which ever country the US steps into, they leave it worse than it was. look at Libya. even France is pulling weight, where is Putin when u need him. that seems to be the only person that put these guys in check.

After Libya and Iraq, I hardly believe what US says.

It's also possible that one of the rebel groups is responsible for the chemical attack knowing fully well that blame will be on the government. Syrian government had upper hand in the fight and may not have resorted to a method that is likely going to undermine its superiority.

The US prides itself in being the world's "watchdog". Israel capitalized on that. They know the US must interfere after such attack whether the evidence is sufficient or not.

Plus they gain Israel's unflinching support in the region. Israel is their only willing ally there. Saudi is only aligned with them for the money. If they pull out and abandon Israel, they'll be done for in a few years.

That's their gain.

US and Isreal are the greatest terrorist in Middle east, they need to destabilize Syria so Isreal can have control over there, never again are we going to support US sheepishly without asking some critical questions.

1. Why will Assad want to kill his own people with chemical weapon when he knows the consequences?

2. Why did US attack Syria before the OPCW investigation began ?

3. What prove do they have that the attack was carried by Assad and not US sponsored rebels?

US/Isreal/Saudi Arabia are behind that chemical attack, they are looking for ways to strike, thank God Syria was able to intercept majority of the air strike.

Russia: Syria air defence intercepted 71 missiles

Reports say US Tomahawk missiles used to target Syria, as UK and France deploy Tornado, Mirage and Rafale jets.

A senior Russian military official has said that Syrian air defence had intercepted at least 71 cruise missiles fired by US, UK and French forces.

At a news conference in Moscow on Saturday, Lieutenant General Sergey Rudskoy said at least 103 cruise missiles, including Tomahawks, were fired into a number of targets in Syria.

"Russia has fully restored the air defence system of Syria, and it continues to improve it over the last six months," Rudskoy said.

The Russian defence ministry was quoted as saying that Syria deployed Russian-made surface-to-air missiles, including S-125, S-200, 2K12 Kub and Buk to repel the attacks.

Among those targeted by the US-led operation was the Al-Dumayr military airport outside of Damascus. Russia said all 12 missiles directed at the airport were intercepted.

Yep.

All these are efforts to frustrate Russia's world cup host in June since they were unable to wrest the hosting rights from Putin after masterminding the removal of Blatter & Platini.

Suddenly, Russia has interfered with US elections (a shame if it were to be true), Russia has poisoned a former double spy & now Russia is assisting Assad to gas his own people in a war he has won hands down since November 2016.

They underestimate Putin still. He's probably still calm because they are yet to touch him directly.

Once that happens, I can assure you that the strongman of Kremlin will turn US soil to nuclear glass.

Useless & lame excuse.

So a dictator would just wake up & gas people who pose absolutely no threat to him when there are armed rebels everywhere to be killed?

Assad uses conventional weapons on his bitter enemies & rebels successfully, why would he want to upgrade to chemical weapons when he could easily bomb these innocent people with the same conventional weapons?

Use your brain na.

Who certified Iran the "largest sponsor of terror"? CNN?
grin

Finally, why are islamic countries like Indonesia not killing people for the fun of it?

Lol.

You are the ignorant one here sir.

This issue affects you in EVERY way whether you like it or not.

Till today, Nigeria is feeling the after-effects of this crisis which led to an increase in global oil prices shortly before Goodluck Jonathan left. This led to a weakened naira, inflation and consequently, recession.

Global oil prices were deliberately raised in a bid to deter Europe from buying Russian oil. Note that Russia is Europe's largest gas supplier.
The US plan was to supply Europe with cheap Saudi/UAE oil cutting off Russia's major source of income & influence hence the pipeline that started the Syria War.

So my brother, if you think this doesn't affect you, you're dreaming.

You actually need to pay closer attention to this & ignore those your Buhari, Tinubu, IBB & co because they are powerless.

When they tell you, we're modern day slaves to the whiteman you think say na play. They practically control us because we allow them.
