I was so happy today that conte benched him...
it's like him playing for Chelsea Fc has gotten to his head....whenever He is in the super eagles he plays with his shoulder high wanna take all the dead balls and keep dribbling even when not necessary and often don't pass the ball.....

he is seriously wasting our free kicks.... I will be so happy if kalu Samuel can be invited to at least compete with him in that wing role.....
he deserves to sit on the bench sometimes...

And your username is humility. How ironic grin grin grin

There are overlaps in culture. Osayi is an Edo name as well... Also Edo people (and delta) are fond of giving English names like, Bright, Friday, Amen .. as first names.. If i am to take a guess, I would say Edo based on the name structure.

Edo culture influence influence some part of Igbo land, like Anambra and enugu, names like Olisa, osifor, ovie and even more. so he could be Igbo

Yep, plays very similar to victor Moses..

Chai boys are coming through. Why can't we organise an U23 team to assemble these boys while we gradually but steadily and carefully promote them to the Super Eagles?

Awaziem took a direct free kick today that needed a great save from the keeper. It is interesting to see that Ranieri trusts Awaziem enough to take free kicks. He must be taking good free kicks in training.

In the Super Eagles, Victor Moses seems to have been given the role automatically.

Is it a distance freekick?

Nigeria
Schalke 04 Favourite To Sign Long Term Target Leon Balogun For Free In The Summer

Mainz 05 and Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Leon Balogun is closing in on a summer move with his contract set to expire in the coming days and no talks about an extension.

Balogun is in the final year of his three years deal with Mainz 05 and his form especially for the senior national team of Nigeria has provoked interest in his services from some clubs in Europe.

However Schalke 04 are the favourite to clinch his signature on a free transfer after a failed move to sign him last season, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Schalke 04 are pushing for a spot in next season UEFA Champions League and they view the 29 year old Balogun, who will represent Nigeria at the World Cup later in the year as a bargain signing as he will come for free.

Talks will reportedly get underway after the end of the current German Bundesliga season where Balogun has played just 13 games, with many suggesting his contractual situation led to the decision to play him less.

At 29 years of age, Balogun has somewhat passed the half way mark of his career. It would be nice for him to play with a well known European team like Shalke well into his thirties.

I dont want to turn this thread into Edo vs Igbo but Edo culture didnt influence Anambra/Omanbala and definitely not Enugu. What you have is Anioma people who moved to Anambra during the brutal agha iduu n'oba. How can you prove Olisaebuluwa is derived from Osanobua. Some of these words are shared among these ethnic groups. And dont make the mistake of thinking Ovie and Osifo are Igbo names because they are not. Those Anioma's that bear those names are Bini migrants. While you are on your Edonization project remember the Igbo language or it variant is spoken through out Anioma. Some of the claims Edo people make are very offensive and annoying. Let me stop here before I get angry

That is the case with most French African countries. They don't take initiative. France and Belgium usually scoop the talent up. Looking back at the past decade, it's truly depressing thinking about the success countries like Cameroon, Mali, Senegal, Congo, Mali, other could've experienced if they put the resources together to retain their talent. The French are visionaries grin grin grin grin

To start with I'm not Edo but rather igbo, from history we all know Benin kingdom was one of most influential kingdom in West Africa, and they went on to influence cities close to them

They influence onitsha area politically, culturally and also with the name, the kingship system is really influence by the benin, Obi attire is identical with the Benins.

Names like Osadebe, Odiah, osita, morka, ogude are all heavily influence by benin no wonder Nnamdi azikiwe claim he believe his ancestors are from Benin. this is not a history section but always open your mind and stop been defensive.

O ok didn't know that. Schalke is not a bad option but we should beware of these German clubs not named Bayern or Dortmund, they fall of pretty fast. In 2016 we though Victor Osimhen was headed to a champions league side but we know better today.

Omanbala is the last person you want to drag Igbo history with, forget what you think you know, he will FLOOR you

Meanwhile, I want to correct an erroneous claim in your post. Historically, the Igbo ethnic group does not run a monarchy system of government.

The only thing that brought about Obi and all the other titles was colonialism. When the whites came, they found the Igbo system of government difficult to control because there was no central government, unlike what obtained in Yoruba land (Oba) and thr North (Emirs and Sultan) so, they installed a monarch, with whom they could relate with the people.

So, that claim that Benin influenced monarchy in Igbo land is ludicrous, especially considering that even till this day, most Igbos couldn't give two shiits about any Obi of anywhere.

Let me now leave you to Omanbala....you dey even use Azikiwe as example grin. Make correct Igbo people no catch you dey use Azikiwe as example when talking about Igbo men, that is like using Rochas as example today.

U might be right but just know that as Okoro is a common name in igbo land, some people in Edo also bear Okoro e.g osas and Stanley Okoro. Same thing with that "osayi" it's common in Edo but Ebonyians and Ananbarians (mainly okija) bear it also.

Did u know that until yesterday, I didn't know Ajala is also a yoruba name. I had always thought only igbos bear the name because I came from a place where our main god is Ajala just as Kalu is the main god of Ohafia, abiriba, Item and Arochukwu people.

Actually, Ubina Ukpabi is the main god of Aro people.

First of you should be grossly ashamed of yourself if indeed you are Igbo because you dont know a danm thing about Igbo history neither the one of the Bini people. I dont want to delve into who Bini influenced because it will turn to a mockery in this thread. Let me just say that the exaggeration of Bini Kingdom is not just shocking but pathetic and miserable.

Since you want to go there with me lets get it on...The influence Bini has on Onitsha is not up to 1% of Onicha culture...Other than the monarchy system Onicha probably borrowed from them and few titles like Iyasele, Osodi and very minor others what else? Onicha culture is 99% Omanbala influenced starting from ancient practices like masqurades, chants, title systems like Nze na Ozo, Nze na Ozo noble dance like ufie, egwu ota the Obi dances during Ofala, ancient shrines like Ogwugwu Omena the one Afam Ogbotobo sings about. Igba Odu /Ivory title an Omanbala cultural item. You are shamelessly ignorant and unintelligent ,my nigga. I hate talking to inferiors!

And what attire are you talking about ? Your Bini people just started wearing Nze na Ozo red hat introduced by Aguleri chiefs in the 18th century. You nobi only Igbo ,you be Eze Nri! Obi of Onicha never dressed anything like Oba of Bini, meanwhile your Oba and his chiefs copied cassocks introduced by the Portuguesse Rev. Farthers when they arrived during exploration. Dont let me tell you who is your true father, akali ogoli! Defensive for what? Your want me to shut up so you can insult my race.

Osita short for Ositadimma means it shall be well with you going forward. Olisadebe means may God preserve. Morka, Modu ,Mordi all has something in common ,muo a guiding spirit. Anioma people have a beautiful and strong culture and there are some names indigenous to them ,Ogude is one. Odiah is a typical Igbo name. Look, you cant just jump in here making unfounded claims with your neo-edonization and think you wont be kicked into gutter. Igbo man my left yansh! We see everything you are doing in your little closed facebook page. Bini wey no reach 20,000 in 17th century. Biafran war has dealt a disaster to the Igbo race! If not you will be cleaned out by little groups from Anioma!
