So they're still importing rice? shocked
Lai and co can lie! If they cannot source enough local rice to cater for just IDPs in d NE, how do they claim that import of rice has been reduced by over 90% for a population of over 180 million?

Exactly why does customs keep impounding foreign rice when they clear same rice for the FG? After that one-eyed will say Rice mills in Thailand have been shut down because Nig stopped importation.

Enemies of Nigeria progress, please tell me if you reduce something by 90% how many percent is left or does it mean a total elimination? You people should pretend you can comprehend before you jump at every opportunity to disgrace yourself.

Disgrace? U should tuck your head up ur arse in disgust at a government claiming to be interested in reducing importation and yet facilitates and pays to import same goods by itself. If the situation is as claimed, should a proactive govt not patronise the local market/industry and save cost while catering for helpless persons who are IDPs?

The continued importation should be by d private sector whilst govt regulates. It's just like d dullard u support, he claimed that he'd put a stop to medical tourism yet does not patronise the Nigerian medical system but is the chief spender of public resources for the health of himself n family without accountability. Even his own wife had to cry out that the hospital designed for the presidency lacked common panadol and syringes. How do u juxtapose both? Is it not the height of hypocrisy that Customs, an agency of the FG will impound imported rice or make the process rigorous for businessmen whilst NEMA,another FG agency, imports same rice with the full support of Customs?

Do u not know that a govt that wants it's local industries to grow must be top patroniser of local produce? For the government to import rice it's 2 things: Either it is blatantly lying about the status of local rice production with Mohammed the Liar as chief propagandist or it has no intention of boosting local production probably because it is bereft of ideas or benefits from the import racket.

And the government awards a contract to import rice? Six and dozen...What's the difference whether the govt imports directly or awards a contract and pays someone to do the importation? Is that normal n proper for a govt that supposedly advocates zero reliance on rice importation?

It is clear you hate IDPs so much that you cannot even comprehend a single thing bring said. Answer my questions does 90% equates total elimination of rice importation or are you going to keep acting blind?

Dis govt is simply a DEN OF THIEVES.... NEMA and its officials have all been feeding fat on d misfortunes of Nigerians and to think d mere commissioner is d chairman of their board.. Billions in relief and relief materials have all ended up in most of their private pockets and there is no way anyone would make us believe Osibande wasn't aware... So a govt dat banned d importation of rice and even claims d country now produces more than enof is importing d same rice to feed displaced Ppl?? Who is fooling who?? And some ediots will celebrate d propaganda nd even claim rice is now cheaper than ever... Fools

Procurement is the bane of corruption in Nigeria. That window that the law allows because of exigencies makes it easy for MDAs to circumvent the system.
