Don’t Marry The Partner Your Pastor Recommends – Actress Foluke Daramola

Narrating the story of Apostle Ayo Babalola, Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola, advised singles concerning picking a lifetime partner. The actress narrated how the CAC pastor was misled by Church elders to marry a woman who ended up as a thorn in his flesh.

In an Instagram post, Foluke Daramola advised singles not to rely on a pastor’s recommendation before settling with a partner.

She wrote:

”CHOICE OF WIFE/HUSBAND
THE SAD EXPERIENCE OF GREAT APOSTLE AYO BABALOLA. “His known mistake was his choice of wife. History has it that the woman he truly loved was a single mother, but the elders of CAC considered it an embarrassment for their leader to marry a single mother. Hence, they misled him to marry the spinster who later became the thorn in his flesh. Her name was Dorcas. A Christian name is not the same with a Christian at heart. “There was a time she poured palm oil on the white garment of the man of God on his way to a crusade ground. Another time after returning from the mountain after long days of prayers and fasting, the wife served him a delicious meal to break his fast. He had only taken about two or three morsels when the wife told him “l thought you are a true prophet, because you should have known by revelation that the chicken in the food was stolen”. The man of God gently left the remaining food and returned to the mountain to ask God for forgiveness. “As anointed as he was, he had no adequate mentoring, part reason for his wrong choice of wife which sadly and eventually, directly or indirectly led to his untimely death.” APPLICATION:
If you want to fulfill purpose and live long, you must by all means, at all cost marry YOUR Wife/Husband Not the one a prophet, pastor, priest or parents recommend, but the one God recommends. People can only guide. The ultimate choice must be born out of your personal conviction by the Holy Spirit.

K, I won't take this woman's word serious until d man she calls her husband returns to the mother of his children. I also heard d man consulted so many men of God before marrying her, or she has suddenly forgotten.

Now the initial title of this post is misleading. From her post she emphasized marrying God's choice. But she didn't outrightly condemn pastoral counsel. Yes, some ministers can be overbearing when it comes to choosing partner.

I almost got into a lady's trap. I liked her then before I knew what was happening we were in a relationship. she quickly introduced me to her spiritual father who knew me very well. The Evangelist was so excited for her he wanted us to get married quickly. Hmmm... but my God did rescue me; some secrets were exposed.

Even my own father, a pastor, once suggested I marry a particular girl, the only child of one of his Church members. But I was able to discern that he was moved to suggest that because of his closeness to the girl's mother. In fact, if I had come out to say that girl was my fiancé many of that church members who are close to me would have called me and say, "Daniel, are you really sure about this? Did you pray very well?"
So, know God personally, and be sure to follow his perfect will for your life.

I am a good Christian but not a fan of telling my pastor(s) stuffs about myself.

Some pastors are confusionists. That is how one pastor has been rejecting every girl my friend brings. Till today he is still not married.

Sometimes google destroy a lot of thing, this woman is reading from google material and its affecting her thinking. To think that apostle babalola married the wrong person is too stupid. If you can say this about him, what exactly are you saying about Jesus. Sometimes life of a pastor is a lesson to there follower, the cross they have to bear is like a sample of how we should carry our self. From what you said, you believe as a child of God everything must always be fine. And someone like you will fail a simple test when being tested. I need to hear you view about apostle paul, peter, and the rest. Since they are followers of Christ at least the should live older abi. Have wives and kids, with the best of everything.

I think its always best to marry who your heart chooses. Not just someone purely based on pastor's, parents' or someone else's recommendation. You'll choose someone based on who you think is compatible and most importantly there'll be no grudges with whoever advised you (if) your marriage doesn't work out.

Foluke, why did you drag d revered Apostle into this? Did you confirm d story? If yes or no, you don't have the moral grounds to apply this simply because you made Kayode Salako to dump his wife and his three boys for you using whatever means. Don't forget that your karma is waiting for you in a thousand folds cos you have put asunder what God joined together. Return Kayode Salako to his wife and to his boys and stop subjecting them to physical and emotional trauma.
