Lagos is rapidly changing and moving ahead of Nigeria.

Jakande laid down the dream and the wisdom

Tinubu formulated the masterplan

Fashola revolutionalized and actualized the masterplan

Ambode is taking the revolutionized and actualized masterplan to the next level with his own elements

The pressure is already on the next governor after Ambode to fit into the big shoes of the well accomplished Lagos State governors before him.

Eko o ni baje is not just a slogan, it's a way of life, culture, awareness, sense of pride and duty. This is why leadership in Lagos is so different and better than the rest of Nigeria. The Lagos ethos is just not available outside Lagos

Let them just domesticate the FoI bill.

...decentralize the sea ports and relocate the headquarters of oil coy and lets see if others won't catch up and overtake

Sea ports are decentralized and the Oil companies chose Lagos for their head office, Lagos didn't force them here. By the way the Head Office of Shell is in Port Harcourt, Onne port that handles all oil cargoes is also in Rivers....

Lagos state should just be declared as a separate country from Nigeria!

A Ph.D. student should seek to produce a thesis on "succession planning in sub-national entities- Lagos state of Nigeria example" or something close to that topic.

The amazing transformation this state has seen since 1999 when Nigeria returned to democracy is amazing.

While successive Governors of Lagos state have been providing landmark projects that directly impact people and their economy, governors of some states are commissioning bore holes, tractors, and toilets! The worst are the oil-producing states that receive humongous funds without commensurate output!

One may hate Bola Ahmed Tinubu (or like him), but his succession planning mechanisms and capacity to attract (and retain) cerebral thinkers and doers to governance (deploying Nigerians from ALL PARTS of Nigeria) is legendary!

So, until your meaningless and unrealistic dream is actualized, your leaders are just sidon look leaders collecting taxes and allocations on your behalf with nothing to show?

You people are even worse than your worthless and incompetent leaders and with such ignorant and lame views coming from you and your kind as the leaders of tomorrow, your states are doomed.

And when they do that, your village go just magically transform and begin start and commissioning projects like Lagos state abi?

Why are you people so fixated on Lagos state and issues that don't better your lives and your backward stone age villages where you really need to channel and focus your attention.?

In Lagos state, Fashola's Metro Rail Project is still ongoing and likely to be completed and commissioned by Ambode regardless the differences between both men and I see all the past governors and major public officials and trad-rulers in attendance during commissioning.

In Rivers state, Amaechi's Metro Rail is dead and won't be completed by Wike, his successor because of Wike's personal insecurity and inferiority complex, silliness, pettiness, poor judgment and lack of sense of duty to his own state and his people.

Regardless how you feel or the animosity against your predecessor, your state, and your people comes first. The Metro Rail was a state investment that must be completed to serve the people even if there are concerns about the project, it was conceived, financed and carried out, the state is still on the hook for loan payments and facilities incurred by the project so where is the sense and wisdom in servicing loans and interest on the same project you killed and vowed never to complete?

Who are the losers? The people of Rivers state.

There are ports in Lagos, Tincan, Calabar, Delta, Onne, PH, and Rivers.

The oil companies can not be forced to relocate their headquarters anywhere. They site their businesses where they deem fit and there's nothing people like you can do about that.

Dangote from Kano sited his HQ in Lagos. Ovia, Elumelu and Co sited their HQs in Lagos. There's absolutely nothing you can do.

You that your 5 blind Governors can't give you an airport that's as good as an ordinary bus stop in Ikeja.

You that in your states, they're now commissioning tricycle ambulances to carry you like pigs. In Lagos, even goats are treated better.

Our trash in Lagos are transported with Mercedes-Benz Actross trucks while they use tricycles as ambulances in your cave.

Ask them what their governors are doing today and what Ambode is doing in Lagos today as we speak.

Ambode is at the Lagos State Tourism Summit while their village governors are somewhere eating isi ewu and drinking pami.

...I assume you are old enough to understand how Yorubas worked against the free trade zone created by governor Duke and how dredging of the ports have been frustrated asked a knowledgeable custom officer
You know Lagos doesn't rely on monthly allocation alone do you know what the ports contribute have you read what the customs bring in for the government
People travel all the way to Lagos to get what could have come through Calabar,PH or akwa ibom
The main reason the Yorubas would allow for the inefficient Nigeria setting is because of this trade off 'bribe' by the north nothing more nothing less

Yorubas went all the way to the Cross River state and stopped Tinapa from working?

You see, the problem with you Igbos is that you blame everyone but yourselves for your misfortunes. Just last weekend, we saw a picture of your brothers selling auto parts in Ladipo market flogging vehicle parts and saying they were casting demons out of the machines.

During the civil war, a little above 400 Yoruba soldiers stopped and defeated more than 5,000 Biafran soldiers at Ore. When I pointed out that fact here, one Igbo boy said that it was because the Biafrans didn't know that there were less than 500 Yoruba soldiers holding the bridge. If not, the Biafrans would have fought and not run away. You blame Yorubas for everything including the cowardice of your fathers.

As ridiculous as it sounds, that's the foolishness embraced tribe-wide. It is unfortunate because some sensible ones among you who try to caution you end up being shouted down by the ignorant majority.

Now to clear your generational ignorance, here's what Liyel Imoke had to say about Tinapa:

"So, part of the problems was that we have a free trade zone built by the state government but regulated by another entity. We have no control of the regulatory environment that could make Tinapa viable. Also, we have a situation in which what we proposed for Tinapa was retail trading but which is not working. This is for two reasons. One, the operating environment offers no helpful incentives.

As the state government we are offering what incentives we can afford, including making the complex rent-free, but it is not enough. Two, the population of Calabar is not sufficient on its own to drive traffic to Tinapa, because Tinapa shouldn’t all be about visitors and tourists. And there is the issue of distance between the city centre and Tinapa. We have movie studios in Tinapa that people in the city centre hesitate to travel 14 kilometres at night to patronize. This distance factor is a vital part of the decision to reroute Tinapa, as it were, via the Convention Centre project."
