2015: Uche Secondus Received N250m From Dasuki For Special Duties - EFCC Reveals by BeeBeeOoh(m): 5:05am On Apr 17, 2018
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, allegedly received N250m from the Office of the National Security Adviser under the leadership of the embattled former NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s report has said.

The report, which was sighted by one of our correspondents, stated that Secondus allegedly received the money during the build-up to the 2015 general elections.

Secondus, who was the Deputy Chairman (South) of the PDP at the time, allegedly collected the money for ‘special duties.’

The report partly read, “Uche Secondus received N200m in cash from the ONSA with voucher 0244. His Special Adviser, one Chukwurah, signed for the money on his behalf on February 2, 2015. Earlier, he had collected N50m which was personally received by him on November 7, 2014.

“The funds were approved by Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.) for unknown reasons but were merely referred to as ‘special duties.’”

The report also accused Secondus and erstwhile Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, as well as the lawmaker representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Senator Bassey Akpan, of receiving vehicles worth about N1.1bn from Babajide Omokore, an oil magnate standing trial before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

According to the report, the vehicles which ranged from Mercedes Benz luxury cars to campaign buses and trucks were bought with the proceeds of fraud.

The report added, “Adamu Mu’azu received vehicles worth N504, 500, 000 including a Benz G63 worth N45m between May and August 2014.

“Secondus received vehicles worth N310m. On June 28, 2013, he received a Benz G63 worth N36m; on April 8, 2014, he received two Toyota Hilux vehicles worth N14m. On July 8, 2014, he received 10 Hiace buses worth N90m while on November 13, 2014, he received 15 Hiace mid-roof buses worth N120m. He also received a N50m Range Rover Biography SUV.”

The report accused Senator Bassey Akpan of receiving vehicles worth N303m from Omokore while he was the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Finance as well as the Chairman of the Inter-ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee whose job was to ensure that government projects were completed using direct labour approach to save some money for the state.

Two of Omokore’s companies – Bay Atlantic Energy and Sahel Energy – were said to have received contracts from the committee headed by Akpan.

The report added, “Senator Bassey Akpan received a BMW X5 BP worth N50m; an Infinity QX56BP worth N45m; a Range Rover worth N40m; three Toyota Hiace buses worth N27m; two Toyota Hiace High-roof buses worth N16m, six Toyota Hilux D cabin vehicles worth N42m as well as other vehicles worth N83m.

“He received the vehicles from Omokore while heading a committee which was giving contracts to the same Omokore.

“He has been invited on several occasions but he has refused to show up. He was supposed to come to the EFCC office on Monday (yesterday) but he refused to come.”

But Secondus has described the claim by the anti-graft agency as a blackmail and a continuation of what he described as media trial.

He said there were plans to blackmail and discredit the main opposition party and its leadership.

He however said the plan would not work.

Secondus, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Ike Abonyi, asked the agency or anyone with proof of the allegations to come to court.

Abonyi said, “Secondus is already in court on this matter and that is all. It is a continuation of media trial and blackmail.

“He has said he did not collect any money and he had challenged anyone with contrary proof to meet him in court and testify against him.

“There’s no need to be talking about a case pending in court in the newspapers. If the government has anything to say, they should file it before the court as demanded.”

Also speaking, Secondus told one of our correspondents that he knew that the government would not stop at anything to tarnish his image.

But he said that the move would fail.

He challenged the government to come out with the vouchers with which he was said to have signed, adding that such signature would also be subjected to forensic analysis.

He said, “I never collected any money from anywhere. I didn’t ask anyone to collect money for me as well and I didn’t sign any voucher to collect any money.

“It is pure blackmail which will never work. I have gone to court and I expect them to challenge me in court and come and testify against me.

“If they are cooking up anything, with the aim of blackmailing me, it will fail. I know that the task of uprooting this non-performing government would be horrendous. But God is always on the side of the people.”

Attempts to speak with Akpan proved abortive as he could not be reached for his reaction to the allegation as his telephone line indicated that it was off when it was called on Monday night. He had yet to reply a text message sent to him as of the time this report was filed.

By the time APC has been sent out of power, the next government will also open the can of worms Buhari and his cabal may probably be covering right now and various acts of corruption being perpetrated in this administration. Magu himself will not be spared when Buhari is sent back to Daura where he belongs.

This is not buharis first time in govt. If he was a thief or had stolen a penny, am sure pdp would have since crucified him and would never have been able to contest in d first place. But they had absolutely nothing against him. Buhari stands tall and walks blamelessly before his accusers. Forget all the shenanigans and unwarranted insults. Yall got nothing on that guy

Robert Clark Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) spoke on politics today on channels TV on sunday and said so many of the PDP members on the looters list sort his legal advise and he told them don't sue for defamation of character because he knows that they might be guilty, that for FG to have the boldness to publish that list they already have the facts failing to have the facts they know the implication. Just like we've seen now the FG has gone ahead to name the voucher number 0244 that Secondus used in collecting the money, dates money was collected, vehicles collected, name of the person that also collected on his behalf.

These media publications by EFCC are making the anti-corruption war look like mere theatrics. With all the evidence (vouchers, details of transfer etc) why not drag these supposed looters to court, make a good case and secure convictions? This whole thing is becoming too dramatic

minus hatred for GEJ by Arewas and Afonjas, it's very clear Buhari's first time in government was not a very nice experience, it was the toughest and hardest for Nigerians, still out of hatred for GEJ we chose a dullard over a good man... We all are paying the price though... No complains

Just because buhari knows nothing to do that's why he's always talking of corruption. He is the most corrupt leader we ever have. That is a simple fact

We know how Nigeria politics is played.if there is as much as a proof that Buhari collected #5 from any one either as a head of state, PTF chairman or in any endeavor,it will be the only headline in Nigeria.
Unfortunately,no one has been able to cast any dirt on him
No one is perfect but for someone in public domain all his life,Buhari try

The Politics Of Fulani Herdsmen

By George Onmonya Daniel

It is funny how suddenly the story of the Fulani herdsmen is changing from one thing to another. Initially the Federal Government of President Muhammadu Buhari told us that the killings going on in Benue was as a result of anti-grazing law. They heaped all the blames on Governor Ortom for passing such law. They suddenly came up with the idea of Cattle Colony. None of Buhari’s men were condemning the massacres but they were all fighting for the Fulani herdsmen even though most of these herdsmen were foreigners. In fact the governor of Benue State had severally cried out to the federal government for help but was ignored. How long did Buhari know that the killers were men trained by Mamman Ghadafi of Libya? Did he know they were militias trained by Ghadafi when he sent police to fight them in Benue? Did the IG know they were Ghadafi’s trained men when after meeting with Buhari on the Benue saga after one of such attacks he blurted out that it was communal clashes before he later apologized?

Too many questions that shows that something is fishy and the Mamman Ghadafi theory is also ridiculous. Now let me explain.

Before now a lot of people in Northern Nigeria, both politicians and commoners have been defending the Fulani herdsmen killings in Plateau, Southern Kaduna, Taraba, Adamawa, Benue, Nassarawa and other places. They told us that it was justified because the farmers were rustling Fulani cattle. But it later turned out that all the people arrested in Zamfara, Kano, Kaduna, Bauchi and other places rustling cattle were the same Fulani men. You can recall the recent video of Hon. House of Representatives member, Hajiya Amina Dukku, who told the world that the Fulanis love their cattle more than even their children in an attempt to justify the killings recently, she categorically stated that that was how GOD made them. She even wondered if it was too much Maggi we eat nowadays that is not making us see clearly.

President Buhari’s Minister of Defense strongly stood behind Fulani herdsmen. For the federal government it was Cattle Colony or nothing. Governors like Yahaya Bello welcomed all Fulani herdsmen to Kogi State to show his support for Buhari. Likewise Governor Ganduje of Kano. What is not missing in all of this but is crystal was that the killings was as a result of cattle rustling and cattle routes or land for grazing. Miyetti Allah and other cattle herders Organizations confidently and severally have been claiming being responsible for the killings, saying that the killings would not stop until they get what they want. One Arewa professor even said Benue was a conquered land or will be conquered. In fact Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State had earlier gone to share money to these Fulani who were killing in Nigeria and he has his own theory, and in this theory, he blamed the Southern Kaduna people for starting the whole crisis. Suddenly these killers are no longer Fulani herdsmen.

Video evidence and other evidence on ground shows that the killers are young Fulani militias who were probably 13, 14 and 15 years old when Mamman Ghadafi was killed. Have you not seen such recent videos on social media? I have seen several with young Fulani men armed with AK 47 planning an attack. After the Buhari’s government tried to flush out cattle rustlers in Zamfara State by sending the Nigerian army to do the job, the cattle rustlers which are 95% Fulanis suddenly took over Kaduna-Abuja highway, kidnapping and robbing people. A lot of them have been arrested by the police, recently the 20 years old boy who confessed he drinks the blood of his victims to avoid their spirit from haunting him.

Suddenly they are now Ghadafi trained soldiers. Ok, let’s assume they are. Who hired them and brought them to Nigeria to fight for them? What are they fighting for? Land for grazing for Fulani herdsmen. It means that the Fulani herdsmen brought them here. They hired terrorists to come kill Nigerians inside Nigeria and President Buhari has not unleashed General Burataility on them as he did with IPOB? What did they even call it? Operation Python Dance?

To add salt to injury, President Buhari appointed a man most people admit has no experience as Nigerian Intelligent Agency boss, sacking professionals or sidelining professionals in the establishment. And this is a man fighting Ghadafi trained militias. The DSS is now a shadow of itself, all they does nowadays is chase shadows.

When you look at all this, it is clear the those who refer to President Buhari as a tribalist and a nepotistic President are absolutely right. I simply see him as incompetent.

Now do you agree with TY Danjuma to protect yourself or you all die, now that Buhari has confirmed the killers are terrorists trained by Ghadafi. What a country!!!

The headline today is HERDSMEN KILL 32 in Nassarawa. Why is the President Buhari protecting Libyan trained militias fighting over grazing land in Nigeria?

“You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
