Nigerian players haven't have the privilege to play for Liverpool for a very long time. The last time a player from Nigeria feature for the Merseyside club was Victor Moses' unsuccessful loan spell from Chelsea in 2014-15 season. That scenario seems to be changing in the next summer as Nigerian youngster has reportedly agreed to Liverpool's terms and conditions ahead of his sensational switch to Anfield. Though there is another twist to the contract offered by the Reds.... Read more https:// thewistle.com/2018/04/04/arsenal-set-to-rival- liverpool-for-wilfred-ndidi/

Mickael2:

Sia1 named Mikel because Musa stepped down and Mikel was the oldest. Thank God you know why Mikel rejected that vice position, not just because of Enyeama's loyalty alone but also because he felt as the oldest he should be getting the armband, same reason was sited for Emenike's retirement.

On a side note though, players contracts are usually not straight, some contracts have terms like 'I must play up to 70% of the available minutes' etc etc. If adding the captain's armband will entice Enyeama then it shouldn't even be an argument, by all means. Besides Pirlo never got to be the captain of Italy, does not make him any less than he is

You are countering your own motion, if Pirlo was fantastic even without been the captains then why not Enyeama, some decision can totally alter the feeling in the squad.

with this argument already is best Rohr invite Aiyenugba and Ejide instead of Enyeama, they are both playing for there respective club and won't even ask or expect the captains band.

We all know Enyeama to be very volatile and outspoken, I wont like this young guys to feel strartle because of his strong personality

And Madam/Sir Mbjane plssss stop dragging this issue. It is enough. It is like you have a beef with Safarigirl or something. I just don't know. But your comments is screaming for something to be done to Safarigirl. Not hard to see through it...

You already admitted that you like Sir Andrew a lot shaa... For his top notch analyses. So I understand. He is one of your favorites here. I understand why his ban hurts. But please... Sir Andrew will be back. I was not even expecting him to get a ban.... I thought we would all just move on. His ban came to me as a surprise but then I understood why he had to be banned.

I wish the mods can have it overturned because he is one of our fine contributors here. Honestly. But it is fine. Sir Andrew444, listen... I saw your alt... Plssss and plsss.. This is from me. Just take your time okay.... I am sure NLSports is the least of your priorities.. But plsss come back whenever you feel like... You are always welcome okay. Please I do enjoy your views too and analyses. Thank you man. Godbless.

Now to the issue one last time...

I came in here and I addressed the issue without favors and even Sir Andrew himself admitted that I said it all... I said the truth. I POINTED OUT THAT HE DIDNT INSULT SAFARIGIRL BUT ONLY USED "madam-Nothing-special-about-EPL" as a slight jab to describe her stance on not rating the EPL/English teams that much. And I said it was no insult but just harmless jab. Safarigirl gave the first blows to his person and ego.... I already said that. But he also could have given same blows and not brought in people who had nothing to do with it like her father and late mother.
Gosh! Even after he found out that her mother was late... He kept at it!
Ofcos he insisted he would still feel comfortable insulting her parents and her whole family but I kept silent. And he did keep to his words... He said a couple more hateful stuffs about them even after hearing the mother is no more. I left the matter because I have said what I needed to say. So can we all drop this issue?

That was unlike him. Sir Andrew is a good guy. I just think he lost it. He crossed the line and broke the rules of engagement on this thread.
Insult a moniker all you want but plsss never bring in their parents or family. That is seriously crossing the line.

I don't encourage insults... But it is inevitable people will lose their cool sometimes (I have even caught Elder Sir Kog45 going kinda rogue on one boxing thread... grin.. Hey Uncle Kog.. I swear I only saw a part... grin lipsrsealed ).
Disagreements can flare up, a few personal attacks out of nowhere can be made and we react (I know coz I have been at the end of such attacks from nowhere. Some people just won't like you no matter what) and a few punches may fly but then we are back again as a family. Coz that is what we do as a family. We fight but we come back... I cannot dictate how anyone uses words here but I can at least point out and appeal to our matured senses to know which lines not to cross.

On this issue I will just add...

A tackle that earns a yellow card is nothing like a bruising tackle or dangerous headbutt that earns a red card or even a career-threatening assault that earn a serious ban/suspension.

It is nauseating. It is 100 shades of wrong to insult people's parents... Period!

Please and please.... No more on this. Mbjane... Please. No more I plead.

You are the one flogging the issue, the Mbjane guy already tried to make peace with her, why not move on and forget what was right or wrong.

Sincerely, if I had powers, na Ikeme I go heal bring back... But I'd love Enyeama to man the post for us. His height no dey gimme confidence though. But if Enyeama no gree, I think I'll go with Aiyenugba. Any of those two will do for me.
If it was AFCON, I no send.

If Enyeama height no give you confidence what about Aiyenugba, his not up to 6ft, i will prefer Rohr calling both Ejide and Aiyenugba up and having a first hand look at them. Is not a fluke that Ejide was ahead of Aiyenugba in the past selection

Onyekuru Hails Everton, Anderlecht For His Recovery From Long-Term Injury
 0 April 17, 2018 12:42 pm

By Ayomide Osipeju:

Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru has shown appreciation to all those who helped in his recovery from a long-term injury, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The 20-year-old injured his knee late into Anderlecht’s 1-0 win over his former club Eupen in a Belgian First Division A fixture in December and Anderlecht confirmed he would undergo surgery and be out for several months.

The Super Eagles forward had to return to his parent club Everton in England for rehabilitation but has resumed full training with Anderlecht, where he is on a season-long loan.

“I want to say thank you to everyone that made my recovery possible. The medical team, staff and doctors @Everton for their rehab and facilities. I also want to thank @rscanderlecht and the amazing supporters for their support and their faith in me during this journey ,” Onyekuru tweeted on Tuesday with a picture of himself attempting an acrobatic kick in Anderlecht’s training gear.

After resuming full training with Anderletch five months after sustaining the knee injury, Onyekuru is expected to soon return to match action.Onyekuru joined Everton from Eupen at the beginning of the season but was immediately loaned out to Anderlecht where he overcame a slow start to hit good form.

The youngster scored nine goals in 19 league appearances and 10 goals in 28 games in all competitions despite playing mostly as a wide forward before he got injured.

Leon Balogun Post Man Of The Match Performance In Bundesliga Game Marred

By Bizzare VAR Decision

Mainz 05 eased their relegation worries with a 2-0 win over fellow relegation candidates Freiburg in a Monday night Bundesliga game which saw a weird decision taken by the referee after reviews by the Video Assistant Referee ( VAR).

Referee Guido Winkman sounded his whistle for the half time break, but had to call the players back from the dressing room for a penalty in favour of Mainz 05 after using the VAR to review a handball incident in the box of Freiburg shortly before both teams went into the dressing room for the half time break.

Mainz midfielder Pablo de Blasis scored the penalty to put the hosts 1-0 before both teams were sent back into the dressing room for the half time break. The decision to award a spot kick to Mainz 05 after both teams have left the pitch for half time sparked a whole lot of debate across various social media platforms.

On the pitch Nigeria international defender Leon Balogun once again proved his worth with another commanding performance at the back for Mainz 05. A performance which earned him the best ratings among defenders of Mainz 05 who played in the game.

This would be a good move if it pulls through though, I pray it doesn't turn out to be another Musa in the EPL

Nigeria
Gent Signs Replacement For Newcastle United Target Moses Simon

Belgium top division side Gent have already concluded plans to make up for the almost certain departure of their Nigerian forward Moses Simon in the summer.

Simon is a target of several English Premier League clubs with Newcastle United largely believed to be the front runners for his signature despite interest from fellow Premier League sides Brighton and Burnley.

Gent are resigned to losing the Nigerian forward in the summer, where he is expected to feature for Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia, but interested teams are likely to conclude any potential transfer for him before the World Cup for fear of his price going up after the World Cup.
Already Gent have cleared the way for his summer exit by signing a forward from fellow Belgium side Royal Antwerp according to a source close to the former AS Trencin teen wonder.

” Simon is sure to leave Gent this summer. A replacement has been signed by Gent already. A forward from Antwerp will join them in the summer, if my memory serves me right . I think he is of Congolese descent”, he concluded

it is not voted for, in the national team, 9 times out of 10, the olderst is made the captain, that is normally the case everywhere. And when you have a player coming back to a team, he can say that if he is made the captain then he can come back, that is not factually a contract but since it is a term that he has put down before he can start working, it is called a contract and Zidane did similar
