Saqa evaluation is important for you to be able to gain admission. Though some schools do not enforce it, but virtually all schools requires it for you to further your degree in RSA. You will also need to send your certified academic transcripts through your school to Saqa for evaluation with a fee. Visit this link www.saqa.org.za

sudo1986:
Good morning my people.......I received this message from from the school I applied to but I dont know how to go about SAQA of a thing and how much it will cost me. Meanwhile, I have submitted my University degree certificate during registration and I dont know why they are requesting for it again. Here is the message

Good Morning Mr Ajibode,

Your application for the master’s programme in Computer Science and Information Science refers.

Please forward the following outstanding documents in order to proceed:

Ø Certified copy of your degree certificate, and a
Ø SAQA (South African Quality Authority) certificate as requested by the Admissions Committee for foreign qualifications.

With regards to your application for Information Science option you are referred to the attached Guidelines for enrolling for a Master’s where you need to first identify a research topic and then draft an abstract before I can submit your application to the Admissions Committee.

The other option for Computer Science, the department does not require a research proposal/abstract prior to the evaluation process – they will liaise with you directly.

Thank you, regards

Good day. Please I need help. I have a friend in SA and we've known for a while now. He has invited me over, even talked about me working for him(he manages a restaurant in Johannesburg). He is ready to send me an invitation letter. I don't know what kind of visa to apply for and what and what he needs to send and do to make the chances of me being issued a visa higher. He doesn't know much about it too. He has offered accommodation etc. I can get a passport. But dint really know how to go about the rest any help from knowledge and experience in the house please. Thank you

Hmm, this your visa type will be long term. It will be quite tough cos your employer needs to get things right first.
I hope his restaurant is a registered one(My own idea) and he pays his tax regularly?
He will need to provide some documents for you to back up your application, the required documents are relatively the same with short visit visa, but with the inclusion of Offer letter from your SA employer, introduction letter from him also showing his intent to employ you.

But my candid advice is why not go for a visit visa which is quite easy to get, when you get there you can apply for a work permit. Cos applying for a work visa from Nigeria might be quite dicey.

My candid opinion

Thanks someone also suggested thesame thing, about the visit visa and work permit once there. If I'm going for the visit Visa, what does he have to send aside the invitation letter and what period of stay is reasonable to apply for on a visit and a first timer? The aim is to increase the chances of being granted the visa

A 10days visit is okay and he can send you invitation letter plus his data page + utility bill or just book hotel and apply with your own documents. I think the latter will be easy and okay for you to apply for the short stay.

Will it be possible to process work permit and maybe extend the visa withing that 10 days. All the time, processes and funds won't be worth it, to go stay for 10 days and just come back. It's better to just stay back and not expend all that on just a visit. In your opinion, what are chances of getting a work permit and extended visa over there?

pls gurus, throw more light to the issues,I want to learn or know about change of visa status in SA, if its possible. also renewal or extension of visit visa
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by eluquenson(m): 8:19am On Apr 16, 2018
Changing of status has various forms in SA

1. You can get admitted into tertiary institution whereby home affairs grant you study permit.
2. You can go for Asylum(3 months, but renewable)
3. You can apply for a work permit(Employer + people in charge will help...costly)
4. You can be an illegal Immigrant

If you don't believe what i wrote above, then you don't have the knowledge, with your money in pocket SA no hard to get docs.

Do you mean if someone comes in with business visa and gets admitted for PhD studies, he can then get a study permit?

The point is not the cost of living and accommodation (at least until after a while) he will provide most of it on getting there. The point is getting a visa and being able to stay and work (learn a skill) like u suggested. Restaurant work is not a bad place to start, the work is guaranteed by him. But the issue is the visa. Like eluquenson said, will be very difficult to get a working visa from here even with the letter from him. Are u saying it is possible or what are u suggesting, maybe something he needs to do from over there?

This is an African country, get there, see what they do. I can't guarantee you with what I have said but I have people that have changed status in SA. Short stay visa with study permit(Yes), my sibling with short stay visa(work permit) YES. If you have money, you get what you want in SA. They are also corrupt like Nigerians.

So don't be surprised with what I have said. It is your connection over there that will determine your knowledge of what's happening.

At least, you can get Lesotho visa there in SA and still move freely till you get your permit( that's majorly what guys do after there short stay visa expires).

All my assertions are open to concrete criticism with evidence of non existence.

Thanks

SA is not white man land bros .More than 80 percent are black 2. It is possible your brother got assylum paper popularly called aduro .You cant change visiting visa to work permit ,you will submit at visa office not even home affairs home affairs do not collect application any more .Kindly state what permit this your brother is using now . Many Nigerians are collecting asylum paper but wont tell you the truth .asylum is not work permit . I advise any one coming to sort out his papers in Nigeria

.I concur with the job is not a bad one to start with but the permit is the major issue .I said earlier on the immigration acts do not allow visiting visa to be change to work permit .The best most do is extended visiting visa which is just 3months and it is illegal to work with it ,more so getting it is not easy and documents needed make it hard. u need to state while you want to stay extra months .MY advise for you is get study visa

he's having a work permit which will be valid for 5yrs, I also have a friend whom I met during my last visit, he's using aduro. Also I have a friend who went to SA with short stay visa and he ended up doing both undergraduate and masters program, he migrated to Canada last year.
I have facts and I am very certain 100%.

Verifiable permits at home affairs, that's all I know and I am very sure of it.

This information is not to mislead anyone but if you are in SA and you don't have the slightest idea of what I have said then you don't need the info.

Most people that doesn't have the money nor know the right channel ended up going for asylum.

If you stay in SA,make enquiries and get back to us. I can't argue this if you don't know what I'm saying.

Who no do/see who does won't know.

SA is only hard in terms of getting job and high cost of living.

it’s good to give the best advices. Changing a 10 days single visiting visa wto work permit will be some magic in my opinion. If it were to be multiple entry, it may be easier. Like the guy said, best advice is to sort out papers from Nigeria. And we all know what the Nigerian restaurant business is like. I was ashamed being a Nigerian when I saw the nuisance many of our Nigerian brothers are and have constituted on the streets of this country.

It is everywhere in the world you can change a short stay visa to a different status, even a BI/B2 visa holder in the US can change status not to talk of in SA

Those information are just there for our own awareness.

Change of status in US follow the link below, it's never a miracle, but doable everywhere.

Why bother about total credit and debit ? Just make sure ur Sponsorer gives you his/her last genuine 6months statement of account stamped and signed from d bank and if the VO see your sponsorer fit then you would be given the privilege to study in the Republic.
