Who cares about the useless position of President?
This is a slowpoke post, you are showing ancient part of Ibadan which I believe is better than any of claves and armlets towns in the east.
Instead of you to give your opinion on what the man said, you are castigating another tribe. This will be your pitfall, if you don't amend your ways

Al these idiots talking trash...

In 2015 elections, APC fielded 3 Northern flagbearers at the Primaries for the Presidency - Boo harry, Atiku and Kwankwaso.

If Igbos do the same, both old and young idiots will be running around shouting Igbos are disunited. Ndi ala!!!

No tribe is united when it comes to politics in Nigeria, only the kingmakers unite and decide whose head they want to use.

The matter is more complex than Momoh said but clearly there is some truth in it. Some Igbo even lament the lack of common position.

As for now there is even no unity as to whether Igbo want Biafra or want to remain part of Nigeria. This ambiguity creates uncertainty and suspicion. Igbo have the opportunity to massively support Ipob or Massob or both. But that has not happened.

COMING FROM A NON IGBO MAN FROM EDO.

THAT IS A VERY TRIBALISTIC HATE SPEECH.

IMAGINE A MAN FROM CALABAR SAYING YORUBA ARE AS DISUNITED AS THE YOUTH.

USELESS BIGGOT!

Don't mind the idiot! Anybody that wants to get a mention in the dailies finds it convenient to just say a few lies against Ndigbo and he'd be cheered on by the usual hate mob that despise, suspect and fear Ndigbo in equal measure.

So if they ask Mr Momoh if he feels Ndigbo of today have equal standing in the Nigerian Army with say the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba he'd say yes? If they ask him if the SE is treated as fairly as other region in the country he'd say yes?

So going to meet one chancer of a traditional ruler who demanded money from him to vote for whoever now means that Ndigbo vote for the highest bidder? Did Ndigbo elect said traditional ruler to speak for us?

I suppose he feels that if a few traditional rulers of Igbo extraction are bribed then Ndigbo will troop out in their numbers and vote for whomsoever they're directed to vote for....even APC!

Very insensitive statement from a man I expect to show some maturity in reasoning. There are very few men that will not allow money and position speak for them. Tony Momoh is definitely not among this few. It is clear he doesn't understand the Igbo and their challenges in Nigeria. There is no tribe in Nigeria that supported just one candidate for an elective position at the federal level. The problem is the Igbo is expected to be a perfect human being or perfect human race while stupidity and foolishness should be excused other tribes. That is why a common fault is magnified and projected as the only basis for judging. Stupid bigoted animals.

Prince Tony Momoh, a former Minister of information and a national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has given reasons why it will be difficult for Igbos to attain the presidency in Nigeria, citing disunity and their preference for supporting the candidates with huge financial chests during election.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with DAILY INDEPENDENT on why it has been difficult for the Igbos to produce a president since 1999, Momoh said one of the problems facing the Igbo is their inability to be united and queue behind one single candidate for presidential election.
He gave an instance of what happened in 2003 when the late Chuba Okadigbo, who was President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in the 2003 presidential election, visited Igbo leaders in Lagos and solicited their support. According to him, the Igbo leaders who had earlier collected N6m from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) asked them to bring N6m before they can give their support to Okadigbo, who is one of them.

“The fact is the Igbos have been in a difficult place since the civil war. They started from scratch after the civil war and they had to reestablish themselves in the Nigerian polity and they had to start moving up slowly in the institution. Many of them their senior people in the Army were no longer there but they have moved in the Army to the highest level, even to the level of Chief of Army Staff” .
“The Igbos are a wonderful people. For instance, at the end of the war, inspite of what you’ve had, they gave you 20 pounds. Every other thing collapsed. Then the Igbos came back to Nigeria and Nigerians celebrated with them and forgot that there was any war . Where they have property, apart from Port Harcourt, people were collecting the rents for them and gave it back to them. But the fact is climbing the social, political and economic ladder takes time” .

“But because of commercial activities, they dominated the economic terrain in Nigeria, the Igbos are the main group of any city in Nigeria. Even in Lagos today, they have Igbos in the House of Representatives” .
“But the Igbos are as disunited as the youths of Nigeria who wants to be president. We were in ANPP. We went to Lagos with the late Chuba Okadigbo who was Buhari’s running mate in the 2003 presidential elections. We met the Igbo chiefs in Lagos and asked for Igbo votes. The chief said we should come back the next day. We came back the following day and he said ‘look at that corner, that is N6m that PDP gave us. Bring us N6m and we will vote for you. I will return the N6m given to us by PDP to them” .

“That is trading and I am not surprised because they are businessmen and they talk business. For you to be talking business, the highest bidder is the person you will befriend. Nigeria will always try to divide the Igbos through financial compromises” .
“ I speak truth to power, issues and institutions. If for instance, you have an Igbo aspiring to be president, you may have about 20 people from the same South-East wanting to be president. The issue is, how can they sit down and say we decide that we want a particular person as our candidate? Nigeria knowing that weakness will cause trouble so that they cannot be united. That is the problem” he said.

if Igbos were as disunited as he claimed,
why didn't they kill their brothers when other tribes agreed to kill all the people in power in the 90s??

why did they rally round Mazi Nnamdi Kanu when he came out to lead the struggle for Biafra

Igbos are simply wiser to know that what is currently being experienced in the present day government under Buhari is what would have played out if not worse in 2003 even with Okadigbo as VP, thus they did all they could to avert a repeat of what happened in 1983 and the unknown ill luck.

IGBOS LOVE MONEY BUT CAN'T GIVE U ACCESS TO GOVERN OR MALTREAT THEIR PEOPLE because U CAN OFFER THEM MONEY, THEY ARE THE BEST WHO COULDN'T SPILL THE BLOOD OF THEIR OWN JUST FOR THE SAKE OF POWER IN THE 90s EVEN WHEN OTHER TRIBES KILLED THEIR OWN. IGBOS REPRESENT THE BIBLICAL MOSES THAT KILLED TO SAVE HIS BROTHER, simply say, IGBO AMAKA!

if e pain u, look around 4 d nearest transformer and do d needful ASAP!!!

Imagine what an elder statesman is saying.. Till they make hate speech punishable crime in Nigeria, people like this will still be relevant with divisive speech.

How does rallying around a single Democratic leader makes people united. Benue people and the rest North rallied around Buhari, what is happening today, same way lagosians rallied around Obasanjo.
When has people deciding who to vote for make them united or not.

Igbos are Republican in nature and can never promote a leader unless its someone who is against their common enemy.. Obas can give ultimatum or declare holiday and it will happen but here in South East no Igwe can do such even Orizu with his paramout authority cant try it less Igwe onitsha, it shows igbo hardly submit under any ruler unless its backed with a strong law.

This man should bother about his former Bendel that has gone into oblivion.... Igbos are still a force to reckon with in Nigeria both in politics, economy and education . 2023 through zoning leadership position will go to South East maybe then He will look for an Abdul to represent us..

0% IQ old man.

My fellow great igbos...
I truly understand the problems of these useful i.diots.i mean the politicians.
When they want to get the votes of the southwest, they go to one man,the druglord tinubu.
When they want to get the votes of the north, less than five men will decide including the Sultan.
But their headache is that when they want to get the votes of the easterners, there is no criminal and trickster capable enough to Confuse and Convince the wisemen from the east.
We don't have almajiris that vote because you gave them tuwo shinkafa and tuwo masala
