Am Igbo but am sorry Tony Momoh spoke the truth
young man stop supporting rubbish... Most political leader wish igbos are like Northerners or Yoroubas where u can easily control all of them.

The only reason igbos were able to surpass the evil that befell them after the war was thier unity and since then our political life has not been thesame since he want to use that to term a whole tried disunited is akin to say Northerners are not united because Boko haram are Northerners, killing and kidnapping fellow Northerners..

Yes when it comes to money igbo man doesn't know his brother but that doent apply to all affairs of igbo people.

An Igbo man will take in someone he doent know from Adam train him for 7yrs and see him become great than him, how many yorouba and hausa can do that.

Yoroubas will make u thier boy forever, hausa will give u nothing and u will suffer for the rest of your life.. But igbo man will make sure u are comfortable
After service; nobody sees that the only thing they see is one criminal who wants vote to continue his criminality ...

All these essays coming out right now points to one thing.

That an igbo presidency is the right thing, right now, especially in 2023.

Any party that does not tender an igbo presidential candidate within now and 2023 should forget the SE forever.

Prince Tony Momoh, a former Minister of information and a national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has given reasons why it will be difficult for Igbos to attain the presidency in Nigeria, citing disunity and their preference for supporting the candidates with huge financial chests during election.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with DAILY INDEPENDENT on why it has been difficult for the Igbos to produce a president since 1999, Momoh said one of the problems facing the Igbo is their inability to be united and queue behind one single candidate for presidential election.
He gave an instance of what happened in 2003 when the late Chuba Okadigbo, who was President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in the 2003 presidential election, visited Igbo leaders in Lagos and solicited their support. According to him, the Igbo leaders who had earlier collected N6m from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) asked them to bring N6m before they can give their support to Okadigbo, who is one of them.

“The fact is the Igbos have been in a difficult place since the civil war. They started from scratch after the civil war and they had to reestablish themselves in the Nigerian polity and they had to start moving up slowly in the institution. Many of them their senior people in the Army were no longer there but they have moved in the Army to the highest level, even to the level of Chief of Army Staff” .
“The Igbos are a wonderful people. For instance, at the end of the war, inspite of what you’ve had, they gave you 20 pounds. Every other thing collapsed. Then the Igbos came back to Nigeria and Nigerians celebrated with them and forgot that there was any war . Where they have property, apart from Port Harcourt, people were collecting the rents for them and gave it back to them. But the fact is climbing the social, political and economic ladder takes time” .

“But because of commercial activities, they dominated the economic terrain in Nigeria, the Igbos are the main group of any city in Nigeria. Even in Lagos today, they have Igbos in the House of Representatives” .
“But the Igbos are as disunited as the youths of Nigeria who wants to be president. We were in ANPP. We went to Lagos with the late Chuba Okadigbo who was Buhari’s running mate in the 2003 presidential elections. We met the Igbo chiefs in Lagos and asked for Igbo votes. The chief said we should come back the next day. We came back the following day and he said ‘look at that corner, that is N6m that PDP gave us. Bring us N6m and we will vote for you. I will return the N6m given to us by PDP to them” .

“That is trading and I am not surprised because they are businessmen and they talk business. For you to be talking business, the highest bidder is the person you will befriend. Nigeria will always try to divide the Igbos through financial compromises” .
“ I speak truth to power, issues and institutions. If for instance, you have an Igbo aspiring to be president, you may have about 20 people from the same South-East wanting to be president. The issue is, how can they sit down and say we decide that we want a particular person as our candidate? Nigeria knowing that weakness will cause trouble so that they cannot be united. That is the problem” he said.

if Igbos were as disunited as he claimed,
why didn't they kill their brothers when other tribes agreed to kill all the people in power in the 90s??

why did they rally round Mazi Nnamdi Kanu when he came out to lead the struggle for Biafra

Igbos are simply wiser to know that what is currently being experienced in the present day government under Buhari is what would have played out if not worse in 2003 even with Okadigbo as VP, thus they did all they could to avert a repeat of what happened in 1983 and the unknown ill luck.

IGBOS LOVE MONEY BUT CAN'T GIVE U ACCESS TO GOVERN OR MALTREAT THEIR PEOPLE because U CAN OFFER THEM MONEY, THEY ARE THE BEST WHO COULDN'T SPILL THE BLOOD OF THEIR OWN JUST FOR THE SAKE OF POWER IN THE 90s EVEN WHEN OTHER TRIBES KILLED THEIR OWN. IGBOS REPRESENT THE BIBLICAL MOSES THAT KILLED TO SAVE HIS BROTHER, simply say, IGBO AMAKA!

if e pain u, look around 4 d nearest transformer and do d needful ASAP!!!
Your people are known to be greedy and willing to commit the most despicable crimes just for money. It will be a cold day in hell before we allow an ibo man become our president

Don't follow those fools (Orji Uzor Kalu and Anyanwu)

If Igbo become president,it will be the worst in the history of mankind because those northern politicians will frustrate it and in the end lots of blood will be shed.

BIAFRA is our only hope Nigerian politics is not for us (where IF SOMEONE FROM A REGION BECOMES PRESIDENT, OTHER REGION POLITICIANS WILL FRUSTRATE IT AND THE CIRCLE CONTINUES WHILE THE POOR CITIZENS SUFFER)
You're right.....The only solution to Nigeria Problem is to Divide ourselves.....Biafra should be....Yoruba/Oduduwa should also be....Northerners should remain as Nigeria... With that, it'll be easy to detect the fault of each president...

Tony Momoh,

Your ignorance full basket.
Momoh lied most of the time - from the first paragraph to the last.

Nigeria's skewed and lopsided 36 states + Abuja political structure created by northern soldiers is reason why Igbo presidency of Nigeria is pending.

Momoh has no intelligence to understand that it's absurd for the once one northern region of Nigeria to be allotted 19 states and Abuja, while once two southern regions were allotted only 17 states.

Land mass is NEVER used as yardstick to determine how many new federating units (states, provinces, lgas) can be created in any region of a country formed by different regions.

To be declared president of Nigeria, a presidential candidate must score 25% of votes in 24 states.

So it's difficult for an Igbo or even a Yoruba to win any candidate supported by Fulani-controlled northern Nigeria.

OBJ and Jonathan Presidencies were circumstantial.

For an Ibo man to become a President in Nigeria, he must be a very civilized & liberal person. He must be non sentimental & objective.

They practiced tribalism more than any tribe & very self centered. Inability of Zik to become the premier of Western Region because of cross carpeting is what they termed the beginning of tribalism in Nigeria because of open mind, exposure & liberality of the South West. If Zik had been in NPC, would Ahmadu Bello had allowed him to become the Premier of the North? From my 6yrs experience in the East, I know a Yoruba or an Hausa man cannot try that in the East. They believed, they are wiser than everybody.

If Zik had become the Premier in the West, the IBOs of this social media era with chest beating & empty noise making & propaganda would have written books on how they educated & civilized the Yorubas. They would have written books on how they developed the West. Awo, the sage, the man who saw tomorrow, thank you. Generations unborn will celebrate you
