On behalf of my hubby, I want to appreciate God and everyone on this thread, who has encouraged, motivated and shared learning materials. First IELTS (10.02.18) LRWS 6,8,8,7.5 Second IELTS (24.03.18) LRWS 7.5,8.5,6.5,8 When he saw the above second result on 6 April 2018, he just applied immediately for the following day’s test (7 April 2018). He didn’t even know his application would be processed for a next day test but he was fortunate. Just checked his result now and it turned out this way LRWS 8.5,8.5,7,8 despite the limited practice time. Hence, shifting the meagre CRS of 400 to 450. As it is often said, I would like to encourage anyone IELTS is still restraining from a desirable CRS. Always remember that when you re-fire, you will definitely acquire the desire you require. Thank you all. 49 Likes 1 Share |

ArcUgo: Its a pity. Its painful. Just "point 5". All that going on your mind. I know. Mine was even worse. But all I can tell you is to stand tall. Move on. A remark? I wouldn't encourage that as the return time would have given you your desired score if you shoot again. You already seen your weak point. Work on it. Re-register and you will smile at the end. Writing tips: I will just talk about task 2 (as it is the most important). Make sure you address all the questions. For example: If you are asked about the advantages and disadvantages of bicycle (for instance) as a good means of transportation. And also asked to give your view about it. What does it mean? You already have 3 things to address. So simply put, your response should consist of: a) Introduction b) The advantages c) The disadvantages d) Your view which can serve as your conclusion. Things to watch out for when doing Task 2: 1) Make a sentence with a good ending (sentence completion) 2) Make sure that there is a coherent flow of ideas 3) Use linkers a lot. For e.g, therefore, moreover, in addition, on the contrary, etc 4) Make sure each sentence has a unique point it addresses. Don't discuss two different views in one sentence unless you are contrasting them. 5) Avoid using the same word repeatedly as that takes off a lot of points. I just wrote down this my opinions quickly but am sure the above mentioned are the critical things that matters. Just practice and practice and you will be fine. If you register with BC, I think you will get the Road to IELTS access. Listen to the instructions of those British IELTS teachers. They nailed it on how to make a band of 8 in writing. It worked for me and am sure it will for you too. Good luck to you and all in the same shoe. I hope this helps. 19 Likes 5 Shares |

vickyehi: Really?? That city in Canada must be super expensive to live in. Mine was approx. $46. And come to think about it, do we really need PCC when we are in Canada. Don't get me wrong; I already did mine. But I am coming to understand that CIC have the access to do same thing we do for them. Hence, we are wasting our money. Guys, let me know what you all think. I mean, this is for people who are in Canada and will be getting ITA soonest. Like I said, I already have my report from RCMP. Lets share ideas Cheers! 1 Like |

News release From: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada April 19, 2018 – Ottawa, ON – Members of the Ad Hoc Intergovernmental Task Force on Irregular Migration met for the ninth time yesterday to discuss continuing the close collaboration and better ways to address the increase of irregular migrants crossing into Canada over the last several weeks. Federal Minister and Task Force Chair, Marc Garneau, began the meeting by reiterating the importance of ongoing federal and provincial collaboration in order to manage the influx with compassion and in accordance with Canadian law. Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) Ahmed Hussen, added that last summer, and throughout 2017, both levels of governments were successful in responding to the movement of irregular migrants by working together to address challenges as they arose. Minister Hussen underlined new federal investments of $173 million over two years to support the intake and processing of asylum claims, security screening, detentions and removals. This includes an investment of $74 million in the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) to expand capacity and process claims faster. He noted that a 40 percent increase in claims finalization was achieved at the IRB last year due to efficiency measures and that the new funding will support decision-making capacity at the IRB, which will relieve pressures on provincial services. Recently, Minister Hussen met with the High Commissioner of Nigeria where the issue of Nigerians transiting through the U.S. to claim asylum in Canada was discussed. During his trip to Washington last week, Minister Garneau met with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials and raised the issue of irregular migration. Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Ralph Goodale will be meeting with DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on the margins of the upcoming G7 Security Ministerial meeting to discuss joint border security and public safety issues, including irregular migration. Minister Hussen concluded by saying that IRCC and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) continue to work together on outreach in the U.S., meeting with organizations and community leaders. As well, GAC’s U.S. mission network continues to proactively communicate how a rules-based immigration system works and correct any misinformation. Moving forward, the members of the Task Force agreed to take concrete actions to ensure a coordinated and effective response to the irregular migration situation. To this end, members announced that they will be working together to assess details of Quebec’s claims for additional financial resources. Officials were directed to explore the development of a possible triage system at or near the Canada-U.S. border. This would include gathering information on asylum claimants’ including their intended destination in Canada with the goal of alleviating pressures on major urban centers and reducing labour shortages in certain regions. Members also agreed to intensify efforts to work constructively with the United States (U.S.) on the issue of irregular migration. At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Garneau encouraged all members to maintain an open dialogue and work together to address shared challenges. Members also acknowledged that those whose claims have been accepted as genuine refugees fleeing violence and persecution will help grow our country as permanent residents. The Task Force will continue to collaborate and share information moving forward. |
