According to their website it says 98% of decisions are made in the 15 days.
My question is when to start counting the days??
Are all decisions made in Sheffield or are some done in nigeria?? Because I did my interview a week ago and have not gotten any emails

Honestly, I can’t answer these questions. Maybe those with experience can help.

I also have questions. One of which deolutolu asked but still remain unanswered.
deolutolu:
Good morning guys, on an average how long does it take to get a response from Sheffield as regards a tier 4 application

Anybody with experience should please help answer these questions.
1. Do I start counting the 15 days from the day I submitted my application or from the day UKVI receive my application (which I think is usually the 2nd day). Or do I start counting 15 days from the day I receive mail from Sheffield?

2. If I am not to start counting from the day I receive mail from Sheffield, then on the average how many days do I have to wait b4 Sheffield make their decision?

Thanks.

You start counting from the day you submitted your application.

Where the decision is made doesn't matter because it wouldn't change the outcome of the application or make the waiting time shorter.

I really can not see you getting a schengen visa as a tourist with that salary. You will struggle to convince any embassy that you are a genuine tourist on that pay because that is about €130 a month.

They will not believe that you will come back to Nigeria if given a visa.

Hi Mates.

Another silent follower.
You guys are doing an amazing job.
I basically read through the forum and I got a hang of exactly what to do and how to do it. I also went through the UKVI's Tier 4-PBS document.

I picked up my Visa yesterday(Monday), it's been ready since Friday though.
Had my interview on the 2nd of September at the VAC Ikeja. Give or take, it took 7 working days.
I'm heading to Robert Gordon Uni. Aberdeen.

So about the application process.
I obviously applied to the school, got admission, paid tuition and got CAS. For the CAS though, RGU made payment of IHS and IELTS mandatory. So I initially made payment for IHS, but I processed a refund which I got within two weeks of initiating the process.
My IELTS was alright too. Speaking: 7.5; Writing:6.5; Reading:7.0;Listening:8.5; Overall band score:7.5.
I actually got my CAS before my IELTS was out, I gave them an expired TOEFL result (108/120) and my WAEC result showing my English result, so they processed my CAS with that, plus the school is HEI. But they asked for my IELTS when I got to the VAC and good enough, I had it with me.

I did my TB test at IOM, Ikeja. Its pretty straight forward! Call them to book an appointment and go for your appointment. PS: The guys at IOM(Ikeja) are very nice people! Very cultured.
Anyways, I think I'll just list out what I submitted. Sorry for the plenty story grin cheesy wink

Documents Submitted

Bank Statement (Use Oanda.com as your exchange peg. Don't forget currency variation!) But if you start counting your 28 days and you find out you didn't put enough money in your account before your started the 28 days count, simply make additional tuition payment(if you made part payment though) and have your school update your CAS to reflect the new paid tuition. I highlighted when the funding in my account started and when it ended.

CAS Letter

TB Test Result

IELTS Result

Oanda Print out (The didn't return my Oanda Print out but returned my bank statement, so yea! they actually use it)

Visa Application Printout

Bsc Certificate

I also labelled accordingly: Appendix A - D.

PS: Just pay attention to certain details and read this forum well well and you'll be fine. Please don't forget UKVI's website oh! They change immigration law more than a woman changes her own mood. cheesy

pls I need the requirements/procedures for applying for student visa...don't know where to start from...pls house reply

Yes! You can’t “un-laminate” the cert.
I needed to certify mine at MOE and MFA previously. They used a razor blade to cut out a part of the laminate. It worked fine.

Advice to fellow Nairalanders: Never Ever Laminate your credentials.

I’m telling you!

Hi.

I’m not sure I have good news for you. The thing is you are not their citizen, so you don’t qualify for benefits due to disabilities. You can google to find information on any society that sponsors disabled people, however this will still be tied to intelligence.

You can apply to study abroad on scholarships according to your intelligence (not your disability). If you WAEC is good enough, write SAT and apply to America, they are better at giving scholarships. You can check for UK scholarships, but I’m not aware of any for undergraduates.

From me to you, I would advise you learn a skill and open a business for yourself. It could be making drinks or a car wash. I say this because I agree that Nigerian universities aren’t disability friendly, if however you can cope and you think a degree is what you need, fine.

Please i have a question, is it a red flag to change ones course for example Computer Science at undergraduate level and then Public health or Social Work at postgraduate level. Your advice will be appreciated.

thank you for your response
you know as a young Nigerian l would have love to hold a degree in my dream course which his law, which is like a advantage for people like me who feel they can't go to school because they cant walk and my legs are the only problem l have while my hands are strong like a weight lifter
but if my dream of going to sch doesn't pull through then I will learn a skills and moreover going to sch doesn't mean I will not learn a skills because I ment just need it to survive after school
but as the sayin goes ,there is no harm in trying
l have seen scholarships but many are for intelligent student while few are for student with disability but the problem is all scholarship are just for a semester while some are money grant
but as a shape guy I will always have a plan B which his try hard to study in any of the federal university in nigeria and travel for your master which I believe is just for a year with scholarship then after the masters degree you can look for a job and settle in any of the western state especially Canada because i hard they dont discriminate unlike 9ja

either way, am a fighter

To the best of my knowledge, NO. But I think laajiblik mentioned his NECO result one time. Anyway, the best people to give you answers are the ones you will be applying to, mail them and ask them.
