Go to their house, ask to see both of them. When they are in the sitting room with you, tell them you came to pay your rent then drop it on the table and wait for either of them to pick it up then they can fight themselves over who should collect it. Right now withhold the payment, but make sure you have your full rent at any given time, next bring all the tenants together so to make an arrangement for a lawyer. Until they resolve the ownership of the house by the court of competent jurisdiction never exchange any money with anyone in the name of rent and that goes to all the tenants.

In Law, in other to resolve situations like the one you just mentioned, you have to initiate a Stakeholder Interpleader application.
This will be used to Summon both the Landlord and wife in court to come and state why Rent should be paid to either of them.
It doesn't waste time to be ratified. Meet a lawyer in your area for more and how to go about this. It's a very simple thing!!!
