No, on what basis? They have not been given the opportunity to prove themselves...

The advantage Simon and Musa have right now, is that they got into the team first. Both players can give them a run for their money in the national team.

Don't just assume that Kalu and Olayinka will fit in easily and displace simon and musa... club and national teams are different.... But still I support the motion that they should b given a call up...they are very unlikely to make it to Russia though.

Puel is an ass.hole. Why sub out ur best attacking component, the only player that looked like scoring or providing an assist for at least a lone goal?

Some coaches can be stewpid
I smell resentment from that Puel.

PAUL BASSEY BOMBSHELL: No quality players in NPFL

Akwa United chairman Paul Bassey has lamented the lack of quality players in the NPFL after three clubs exited the CAF Confederation Cup this past week.

Akwa United were one of the three NPFL clubs who failed to reach the group stage of the Confederation Cup.

Enyimba will now be the only Nigerian club on the continent for the rest of the year.

Veteran journalist Bassey said his team gave it their best shot against Al Hilal of Sudan only to crash out on the away goals rule after aggregate scores stood at 3-3.

“Inexperience and the absence of quality players in the league (behind our elimination),” he told a SuperSport TV programme today.

“Coaches therefore have to work extra hard as a result of this.”

The Akwa United chairman said he hopes the NPFL calendar is soon aligned with that of world football, while also demanding more professionalism in the league.

Many of our top quality players in Europe did not come from the league.. They were directly picked from academies across Nigeria.

For instance, It took Awaziem less than a year of leaving Nigeria to make Porto's first team. It shows that the talent is in Nigeria but our NPFL clubs are not doing proper scouting... We do a lot of recycling players.

I look at most of the Nigerian stars coming up, very few played in the NPFL.

Some tried convincing us Iheanacho can not dribble. Nacho has blown another myth. Any other one?
He dribbled doesn't mean he has the ability in the past. He probably worked on it.

I pity those casting aspersions on my boy. Mind you, our most played defender during the qualifiers is now a bench warmer at lowly Bursaspor and the most berated has won back his starting shirt at Nantes.

The real problem is we do not make these observations until we fail at the continental stage or at major competitions.
When we do well at CHAN we sing a different tune. If Nigeria had done well at the just concluded commonwealth games we would all have been celebrating like all is well in the sports sector.

So what am I saying? if we are not seeing quality in the home front consistently there is a big problem. And this big problem has always been there.

I watched Aiyenugba's last match against Maccabi Haifa.

We do not have Enyeama now and i think Aiyenugba is ahead of what is on ground.
Aiyenugba that is playing regularly for Israeli top league should be given a chance. Even more than Uzoho of Spanish third league.

CSL: Ighalo Nets Four Goals In Changchun Yatai Win
By Johnny Edward

Odion Ighalo scored four goals for Changchun Yatai in their Saturday’s 5-2 away win at Guizhou Hengfeng in the Chinese Super League, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The win was the second of the season for Changchun Yatai in the CSL.

The 29 year old Super Eagles striker who failed to score in his previous three consecutive games, fired his side into the lead in the 24th minute from the penalty spot.

Guizhou Hengfeng’s Wei Du restored parity nine minutes later but the celebration was short-lived as Long Tan scored Changchun Yatai’s second goal to hand the away team a 2-1 lead.

Former Watford striker, Ighalo, made it 3-1 finishing off a pass from Tan in the 38th minute of the encounter.

In the second half, Fan Wang reduced the deficit for his side scoring in the 60th minute to make it 3-2.

Ighalo completed his hat-trick when he scored to make it 4-2 in the 86th minutes after he was cautioned six minutes earlier.

The Nigerian bagged his fourth goal of the game in additional time of the second half.
Changchun Yatai are now 10th in the Chinese Super League table with eight points from seven games.
