ogedanny: Dear play with facts and figures. How much is the Listing price of Caverton? State clearly the moats of caverton that make it better than others. For your info, most airline companies that are even international runs are doing badly not to talk 4 year affairs with Shell, Total or Mobil. Dear, I know this industry for the past 22 years. 1 Like |

IchimokuPilot: Fraud? No, No, No.It is just because the industry is structure like that. It is a systemic thing. Why investing in a business you understand will rise and fall due to IOC contracting environment . You cannot understand the business cycle all depends on IOC demands and operations effectiveness and otherwise and government contracting process. It is just not good for investors. JAPAUL came on seen during boom and has not been able to recover after then. |

Mpeace:like I said "tug boat na vessel Naa.." Out of the 9 "vessels" in those pictures, 6 are tug boats, 1 house boat and 1 deep water work ship. No oil tanker, no gas tanker, no offshore jack up barge, no offshore drilling equipment.. Lol.. Marine services... Lol What they do is the least important services rendered offshore. Talk about offshore food and drinks supplies I might listen better. Leave Japaul my brother.. Soup wey sour no get mmequata |

MSCI MOVEMENT FOR THE WEEK ENDED 20 APRIL 2018 The fund invested more money, cleared large volume of Unilever and then top up with some units of Oando plus others. Just our check to control previous post, let us see the comparism for the fund movement for 19 April 2018, http://portfolios.morningstar.com/fund/holdings?t=NGE and https://www.nairaland.com/1131485/nigerian-stock-exchange-market-pick/3460#66869947 The implication of the above is that the likelihood of Oando reaching the first target of NGN11.16 very soon is higher, after this NGN14.38 Should be the next target (the people that got my excel on forecast price calculation can check the excel sheet, although the calculation for this projected price is based on the 0.618 and 1.618 fibonacci calculation). No need to worry much about this as I don’t give any crap calculation. Thus if you don’t want to be greedy, you can look to sell Oando at NGN14.38, as some resistance is expected around this price. If you need to sell on short term or you are afraid, sell immediately the price goes below 9.15. Conclusion on this is that even if Oando goes down on Monday, do not sell yet till at least the NGN9.15 is breached!!! The market should start waking up by now, since MSCI has led the way, I know other funds (both local and international are likely jump into the market again). One lesson I have learnt from the fund is that, the fund can take big risk, buy stock at those times that others are afraid of the market (bought Oando during the suspension period and is better for it). We see so many sell, sell analysis we rea on many fundamental reports about the consumer goods industry, but big fund in buying Unilever !!! One has to be a little daring to make money in the market, but must weigh the risk. Last week was more favorable to the small caps, for more people to come to the market the big caps too need to start leading in the gainers chart. The number of gainers for the week just ended (37) was approximately equal to last week, but the losers 38 was big improvement on the 57 for last week. For this week my momentum selection are: Julius Berger and FCMB. FCMB is good, for Julius Berger something seems to be cooking, but for reason of liquidity can be ignored for now, better to wait till 1st Quarter result will be out. RealityShot: ALL vessels are important. It is all about utilisation rates and how they are deployed. There are TWO rigs permanently parked at Marina for over 4 years doing NOTHING. That's bad investment. OandO also has rigs that are not doing any work. You do need tug boats for your offtake operations. If there are of the correct bollard pull then you are in business. I actually think that Japaul Tugs are on spot hire which is why the utilisation rate is poor. Not many companies worldwide own oil trading tankers. That's the forte of companies like MISC |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by wanaj0: 6:53am On Apr 23, 2018 |
sellydion: Not sure it is a problem. The IOC contracting environment is stipulated by NNPC (NAPIMS). Hence most contracts are short term (2+1yr). So revenue is only guaranteed for 3years. Companies like Caverton have used their 'connection' with 'government' to get contracts. Risk is what happens if a Pharaoh that does not know Joseph come on the throne. There was a time when a company called ADAMAC was the chosen one. Where is it now? Caverton must demonstrate professionalism and expand to the West African coast to demonstrate that it can actually compete. I don't see what Caverton does that Bristow cannot do much better! 1 Like |

phemmie06:So Oando will not be delisted. On a more serious note, I think SEC should consider the option of sanctioning CEOs whose companies are found wanting. For instance, Daar coms and japaul CEOs and chairmen should have been stripped of ownership of their respective firms which have over the years been run like private businesses rather than public quoted companies. This would serve more to encourage accountability and good corporate governance. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by wanaj0: 8:32am On Apr 23, 2018 |
Mpeace: You harsh oo. CEO is an employee so why should his crime affects his ownership? I think the shareholders should take more interest in the affairs of those companies. This is where the pension funds come in. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mpeace(m): 9:03am On Apr 23, 2018 |
wanaj0:You and I know how difficult it is for shareholders to ensure good corporate governance and that in most, if not all cases if infractions, CEOs are often involved and benefit in chief. See fbnh and diamond bank for instance, Oti used our money to run for Abia governorship. Onasanya former CEO of fbn gave out the huge npls for which the bank is suffering today, yet he lives large and free. Oando shareholders will tell you that the only powers they have is power of protest. The CEO remains more powerful than shareholders 1 Like |
