Letter To My President - Poetry by MissWrite(f): 10:38am On Apr 21, 2018 |
Dear Mr. President, I hope I can call you that. I am not sure where I should start. But I’ll just pick a part. I am writing this letter from a sad place I am typing these words with a hollow face I am up in the wee hours of the morning With a heart that’s still in mourning. Dear Mr. President, I know you know me not. Think of me as one who is distraught Think of me… or maybe not. I am the woman who’s lost a child I am the girl running in the wild The man who cries at night With hunger being my plight I am the darkness in the dark The emptiness and the mark The one who’s lost all hope Choosing the knife or the rope. Dear Mr. President, I’ll tell you why But first, permit me to sigh. I told you, I was pained and broken I told you with words unspoken I told you I was denied and outcast Nay, I showed you the scars of my past Beaten, deprived and abused Exploited, oppressed and misused Hated for the tongue I speak Hunted for the faith I seek I told you I paid my taxes Yet I still live out of boxes Begging for a pillow to rest And a shirt to cover my chest I told you the people who swore to protect me Are the same ones who now exploit me That I fear to send my child to school For her safety is now so doubtful. Dear Mr. President, I know you listened And I thought with me you reasoned But like a butterfly on a leaf in the rain You flirted with my pain You took the hurt that drove me insane And used them for your own gain You spoke lavishly and made promises You told me to forget your nemesis You told me the words I needed to hear And like a knight, you rode on my fear. Dear Mr. President, what more can I say I am still in pain today Not from the wounds of yesterday But from today’s abuse and sorrow That I know is plaguing my tomorrow So now, I plead with the voice of a mother Who knows what it feels like to lose a brother I plead with the heart of a child Whose feet are torn by the thorns of the wild I plead with a father’s despair and an empty heart you cannot repair Stop thinking of you start thinking of me Think of peace, love and unity ©️Chinonye Mbonu 16 Likes 8 Shares |

I wasn't surprise when I saw this. Because I know you are an intelligent Miss. What a writeup that can make one's day bliss. Because no one will be sad after read something like this. MissWrite, permit me to confess. For me not to say my mind with much distress. It's obvious you are creative with less stress. Thou your enemies will care less But even if they continue caring less. It still won't stop God from ordaining you as an intelligent highpriestess. Lastly darling, you are a rare gem. You brain and reasoning can't be terminated with any evil germ. My lovely supports will keep you armed And with the help of aboniki balm. Your enemy's plans will be jammed. And they'll be harmed. While you'll keep soaring higher. Donstan cares 1 Like 1 Share |

Does poverty really exist in circles? An average African is faced with the pangs of poverty, & tries absconding all through his life span but to no avail, thus passing it on to his offspring, creating the chain - the circle. Yes! Poverty exists in circles. & Yes! Its circles are wide. How then do we find freedom from this circle? By building a barricade round our cavities or by working hard so as not be termed lazy by individuals who didn't fight the war against poverty? How exactly. Peradventure we fail to win the battle, how do we create another route for our offsprings? Could any be created? No... This is poverty. And it enjoys expanding its circles from fathers to sons and grandsons... Poet Karn breaks through our garment of curiosity again as he speaks on the CIRCLE OF POVERTY. You won't want to miss this Brain work. This is raw poetry with an African touch, from the nib of an African pen. Enjoy!!! http://www.whykeanthology.com/2018/04/povertys-circle.html ••• ••• "...Poverty is just a name to us, Germinating from father to children, Children to grand children, In & out, on we go Singing the anthem..." {Exerpt From Poverty's Circle}. Proudly Whyke. |

Nice write up missWrite please tell your sister to make that post available to the social media account of the president, but she should be anonymous. I don't trust this government if they can stoop so low and steal a maze what can't they do. |

A-ha! So it runs in the family. Just as I had intuited right from the beginning. An artistic royalty. MissWrite, your sister is good. She communed with the truth obeying the most salient rules. And even came out to speak the tragic truth from the depth of a genuinely troubled heart without being rude to art. That's what even Athena couldn't achieve during an era when other Gods were more benign. I shall deliver this to the deaf President. After which I shall send the catastrophic entity to the guilotine. |
