To God be the glory, I have managed to unlock my bootloader and flash official global rom to remove the shop rom it came with, no testpoint or bind account to anything. sign up for mi account and sign in with that account to your redmi 5 plus, then apply for unlocking bootloader then after you get permission to unlock MI account wait for like 2 weeks then factory reset your phone then unlock and fastboot flash official global rom, my blood pressure can come down

from wt i cn infere from redmi 5 plus saga, the waiting before unlockin for your account to sync properly on xiaomi's server is more often applicable if d fone in regard is preloaded with official global rom... With a china based rom, using a vpn wif chinese location is the way to go

I think you should take it to any good phone repairer to check it, maybe there is partial contact somewhere.

;DNothing like developer option abi na bind MI account to device, I got unlock permission around 2 weeks ago then today I tried to find my Device on mi website but it was not going and my mi account was showing 0 connected device even though my MI account was signed on redmi 5 plus with sync and find my device on, I factory reset my phone and still no sync or find my device, then I just tried to unlock and it just unlock just like that, o boy i shock

I think the key is the long wait, it like even if MI people say you can unlock it doesnt mean immediately i think, na to dey just to check your Mi account till its showing 0 connected devices then facory reset or just wait 2 weeks, unlock and flash global rom chikina
