2019: Looking Beyond The Propaganda, We Igbos Must Know Certain Things by Bede2u(m): 4:14am On Dec 28, 2017 |
I have seen people love GEJ and hate Buhari. I think most time it is because of ethnic and religious leaning than common sense. GEJ wasn't by a long shot the best president of Nigeria. Under his leadership, the dollar rose from 150 and was peaking at 260 when he left office. Under him Fulani herdsmen became the fourth most deadly terror group in the world. I understand bokoharam was created by the northern elites and had the support of the common northerners at first. But under GEj's weak leadership, terror festered in Nigeria. Many things went wrong in his government that re-electing him in 2015 would have seemed as if we had no class as a nation. However, comparing the administration of GEJ and Buhari, it becomes clear that it has been more of the same in the past 2.5 years. 1. Buhari is neglecting the south east, GEJ did worse. At least, under Buhari, we have work ongoing in Enugu-ph road and Enugu-onitsha road. Under GEJ, it was only the Enugu-Abakaliki road I know of. 2. People are dying under Buhari through the activities of boko haram, herdsmen and soldiers. It was the same under GEJ. 3. Under Buhari, inflation is gaining and naira depreciating; it was the same under GEJ 4. Under Buhari most projects were sited in the north. Same under GEJ as he gave the north almajiri schools, highways and railway 5. Under Buhari, the Igbos have been sidelined in appointments. Under GEJ yorubas were sidelined My point is that Buhari and GEJ are bad presidents who dont know how to organize and be in charge. Their govts share similarities of being marred by cabals and extremely powerful aides, which make them look weak. Hating one and loving the other is a mark of hypocrisy. Both of them should not be re-elected. Nigerians should not re-elect mediocre leaders. We should deepen our democracy by looking beyond petty sentiments and leanings and do whats best for the country. We Igbos must vote against buhari in 2019. But let it not be because we love GEJ and PDP and hate Buhari and APC. Let it be because we stand for good governance and giving politicians a chance until they mess up. My name is Bede2u, I voted Buhari in 2015, I will vote Against him in 2019. What about you? 3 Likes 1 Share |

deomelllo:there is no way more people were killed under gej....not with the recent onslaught in benue. But even if more ppl were killed under gej nko? Does that make the current killings acceptable? U say u are dealing with it...how? Whatever u are doing is not working...at least not yet. Herdsmen still kill every week |

Bede2u: Under GEJ, people were dying in hundreds from a single attack for several years. No, 1 single killing is unacceptable under any president, but going by the OP's assertion that the situation then and now are the same, yes, it remains the same, including herdsmen killings. GEJ did not handle the herdsmen problem when he was in power so it's a must for the next president to be saddled and deal with it, the same way the next after PMB must deal with the same problem @ PMB's failure to deal with it. This is pretty much self-explanatory, but not according to you PMB obsessed and GEJ hero worshipping ipobs. |
