Sen.Ngige to JOHESU Lives are being lost, time is of essence. Accept FG proposal. " We are here today to give you the Federal Government's proposal which to me is very reasonable . I want us to discuss dispassionately, patriotically , so we can resolve this issue . When I sit here as Minister and health persons whether doctor, nurse or pharmacy, come to talk strike , I don't find it funny , I frown at it . I am a medical doctor and have not gone on strike in my life . Never, since I started practice. And this is between me, my God and the oath I took as a medical doctor. I feel so concerned when health workers go on strike because at the end of the day, you come back to the table. Meanwhile, lives have been lost. Those lives cannot be brought back. You are not like the university teachers who can drop the chalk for months, come back, look at the syllabus and decide to teach day and night to make up . Your case is quite different, so let's look it the issues in the interest of the nation. Time is of essence, lives are being lost." This furking turncoat liar, the same mumu bringing all the silly talk on the national minimum wage raise. Would it be so bad to answer the workers instead of continuously shading them before the President? Yet your own fat allowances and budgets keep rolling in. Ngige should mention one industrial labor achievement he has made on behalf of the Nigerian workers since he was wrongly appointed as minister. Many of the members of the unions represented are quite worse off. Answer them! 11 Likes |

HMZi: Good, just keep it in mind that that means higher hospital bills. And yes, govt should answer Johesu and other unions. But with a budget for health less than 1 trillion, when we probably need at least 2 trillion naira yearly for health (my estimate) it is going to be impossible to meet demands without an increase in the health budget 1 Like 1 Share |

IdeyFindWife: We spend less than 700 bn naira on health. Answering Johesu, doctors etc means a massive increase in health budgets which can only come from raised hospital fees, or another IMF loan. Or raised taxes. 1 Like |

WHen someone who joined to rigg all elections in Anambra is rewarded with Cabinet position, this is the result. Same as when you are advocating for democracy yet support coup plotters to lead it, then you yourself deserve all the Wahala it brings 1 Like |

Cromcruach91: It's so sad that the country's now telling under the weight of management by misplaced priorities, unchecked looting, trans-generational sabotage and bad policy implementation. We're practically trying to reap where we've not sown. Almost every other sector is suffering hiccups and pple won't quit stealing the meager resources many for reinvesting to grow the the sector while hoping that, miraculously somehow, everything will work out right, it's wrong. |
