Get educated, it's the NASS that will pass it into law and has nothing to do with the president.

The president doesn't fix salaries.

AT least for now, if my voice can be heard, i will advice Nigeria government to stop any mandatory minimum wage, there should be no mandatory minimum rate of pay for workers in Nigeria . Pay rates should be agreed upon directly with the employer through collective bargaining or other means of negotiating a fair living wag and likewise base on performances.

If we must copy the west, the lowest Minimum Wage of a worker that should be legally paid for his work should be around 200k which is not even up to 800 dollars at least considering the economy situation.

the minimum wage should varies by occupation, the lowest minimum wage maybe directed to industrial sector while a slightly higher minimum wage rate should be given for to construction workers. the service sector can be settled averagely.

A lot of Nigerians are kind of foolish in their thinking to be honest.

Look at their negative responses. They are not even willing to discuss why it may not be possible to increase it that much.

The responses are usually one liners or derogatory in nature. How can a country progress when the majority of the people are close-minded and immune to common sense.

Only them want capital expenditure to be increased, want gasoline to be cheap, don't want taxes to be increased, but want wages (the major part of recurrent expenditure) to be increased by 300+%. It must feel comforting to live in fool's paradise.

Left with them, CBN should just print money to solve all our problems.

I think you are the one who needs the education if you say it has nothing to do with the President. Who assents to it when the NASS passes it? Me? or You?! And what if he doesn't assent and gives excuses like he did to the amended electoral bill?

Buhari won't pay 66,500. He'd rather pay less and claim that we have meagre resources.

Understand next time before you type because I never said he fixes salaries.

This isn't feasible in the long run.
It might work in government agencies, but they can't force private firms who do everything for themselves, to pay this amount.
It'll only lead to mass job loss.

That is why our recurrent expenditure is far more than our capital expenditure.. Over dependent on the government.. Until we have an efficient and effective private sector, we are not going anywere..
There are private sectors willing to work but the govt places unrealistic demands on them through wrong policies

you must be one of those enemy of progress,do you know the average money Nigeria worker spend in a month and after working for 35yrs must workers can not erect a standard building or save upto 3million, compared to our Nigeria politicians hope you know how much is the home take of a senator monthly.I believe you are not even a working class so you better keep shut!

There is no money to pay workers $190 per month? If the government was white and pays the Nigerian workers $50 that is currently paid, we would all scream racism, It costs over N600 Billion to run NASS, and there is no inflation, Sowore was on a radio station and the presenter asked him if Nigeria can really have 24hrs electricity, stop parroting this 'government can't afford it'' nonsense, there is enough money to spend $3Billion looking for fuel, $1Billion to buy jets etc, abeg fight for your fellow Nigerians

anyone that understands secondary school economics will know this is a futile mission. Firstly, the government can't afford it, secondly, Increasing the minimum wage will lead to inflation and a reduction in the value of naira.For example, if u were buying a cup of garri at N100 when minimum wage is N10000, then u should be ready to buy that cup at N1000 if the minimum wage is increased to N100000. Everything will cancel out each other, there will be no advantages, only numerous disadvantages.

What they should clamour for instead is the increase in the value of the natural such that even the wage is reduces to N10000, that N10000 will be able to buy what N100000 could buy before.

And again, it will do nothing more than increasing our recurrent expenditure.

That is not an excuse, even if the minimum wage is N5,000 some politicians won't pay, that's we told y'all Sowore2019, but instead you are telling the youth to be realistic and continue this broken system, you realize N66,500 is just $190 #takeitback from LGA to Presidency, enough of these leaders that think paying their workers $50 p/month is OK,

Leave your idealistic world and face reality..reeling out the amoount politicians corner for themselves will not translate to actual payment for workers as at when due...Nigeria is a sick country,and you all should realise that.

For once in your life reason with some sense. Sick and broken country and yet our senators collect 13.5 million in running cost monthly, pay themselves housekeeping, newspaper, condom and akara allowance and get hundreds of millions of naira yearly in the name of constituency project, of which they spend maybe 500k in buying wheelbarrow and garri to share to their fan base.
