Who were the Impact players on the bench? He would have only made substitutions if we were leading like 3-0 to rest some players for the return leg.

I told someone even when it was 1-0, that Wenger was not going to make any substitutions. He had his best 11 on the field.
Impact players. Iwobi may not be a game changer cos he still has a lot to learn, but beat your chest and tell me point blank that he wouldn't have done better on the wing than Welbeck that kept passing back when he had space to dribble thru and do something. The three times he tried to dribble, he was dispossessed and one of such even led to the goal that Griezmann buried. Haba.

Iwobi would dribble that defender and at least due to pressure, can get hacked down in the PK box cos of the rough way those ATM defenders were doing. Pls.

Sometimes, it's not just about the best 11.

We have coaches and managers bringing on players that have just one contribution to a game even if they are bench warmers. we've seen that alot in the UCL.

Iwobi, would have made a breakthrough on that flank than a wasteful, less confident Welbeck any day.

You're not the only one, bro. I really can't understand what Arsene Wenger sees in Jack Wilshere!

As per Mustafi, the less said the better. The question I have always asked is, 'has Per Mertesacker became so bad that Mustafi has to play come what may? That dude has been having a stinker all season long!

In fact, the new regime can't come fast enough. I am not an Arsenal fan but I feel bad for them. To me, Wenger should've been let go 2 seasons ago.

O pari

Pls help tell Icon4s.... Wilshere had an average game to me. Ozil still had a better game, even Xhaka had a better game.

Any Midfielder that is experienced and tactically skilled, would know that after that red card, the loophole must be exploited. But unfortunately, Welbeck was on the flank that Arsenal should've exploited. ATM were that scared that every time a pass went to Welbeck, three guys ran straight up to him to close him down. One on such a flank would need speed and dribbles to frustrate such defenders and force their hands to get a PK. Imagine Monreal had to now start playing that role, and oga Welbeck is a poor cover up player too. Iwobi is better.

Diego would be so happy that he didn't even use Costa for Arsenal and yet, they fell like a pack of cards. smh

Obi May Face Prolonged Injury Layoff, Undergoes More Tests
April 27, 2018 11:16 am

Super Eagles midfielder, Joel Obi, will go for further tests on his anterior hip muscle next week, and will likely face a prolonged layoff as the Serie A side works harder at restoring his full fitness, Completesportsnigeria.com has garthered

Obi who will sit out of Torino’s Serie A home clash against Lazio on Sunday is currently undergoing therapy and could spend more time on the sidelines.

The Nigeria international missed Torino’s 2-1 away defeat to Atalanta last weekend.

Italian website, toro.it reported on Friday that Torino were still monitoring the fitness conditions of Obi and Antonio Barreca, an Italy U-21 defender. Both players were expected to undergo fresh medical tests because their therapy sessions on Thursday confirmed that they were not close to full recovery.

Obi, 26, has made 22 Serie A appearances and has scored five goals and provided two goal assists.

Torino occupy 10th position in the Italian Series A table with 47 points from 34 games. There are four games left to play.

Well, one less DM/CM to worry about...

What we need now is AM...

Ebere Eze, Ajagun, Aluko should be invited instead

But if not possible then Iwobi should be drafted there ASAP leaving on more slot for Attackers which either Henry Onyeakuru or Kalu should fill

Against Serbia,he could have allowed Ebuehi rest and play Aina at RB. it would have given us the opportunity to see how Aina will fare at RB....

can't you just say that the Atletico fullback was a stalwart on the day? I mean this is a team with one of the best defences in the world, Arsenal created chances, plenty if chances which shows that the team was doing okay, all they needed was a goalscorer, is it Iwobi that would have scored the goals? Welbeck remains a bigger goal threat than Iwobi any day

Groin injury no be play, some literally threw this guy under the bus.
Ebuehi is one guy that knows what "chewing gum marking" is, it's good to have him back.

I believe this is what people complained about. if I remember correctly the starting line up was released hours before the game and even before the match people started saying that Ebuehi was injured and might not yet be 100% but then the point is if he wasn't 100% then why would the coach play him? what if he said he was ready to play in that case I am not sure that injury should be used as an excuse for him. is he didn't say he was ready to play and yet the coach played him and probably the injury got worse then Rohr is to be blamed if the boy isn't fit enough to go to the world cup.

seems you hardly watch Atleti games, that's how they cover all the time, they weren't scared at all just their normal game.

out of curiosity though are you saying that Iwobi would have been able to dribble all three players at once? I am sure Welbeck is kinda fast too, he showed that against Chelsea in last season's FA cup final and Iwobi is definetly not the fastest guy around either

I think he does, he is a mousa dembele kind of player.
Short passes, Ok ball retention, occasional long pass and of course can shoot from outside the box.
A John ogu stepping up his game is a big plus for us, he is the only midfield regista we have.

True but he was deployed wrongly.

ATM was under siege for the better part of the game, move welbeck to the center of the attack with laccasete to play of him, with ur full backs whipping crosses.

That was a good defensive play by ATM.

Sir i remember i started the discourse with Mujtahida on his fitness.

My question was why unfit Ebuehi with groin injury for 90 minutes when we have options like Omeruo who can do it as RB,also Aina a natural RB or moved in Idowu a natural RB too and Echiejile or Aina to LB just to save Ebuehi from aggravating the injury.
