Simeon "Simy" Nwankwo's Brace today for Crotone in their 4-1 win over Sassauolo in the Italian Serie A makes it his 4th goal in his last three league games and in 19 serie A apps this seaosn.
He has made 20 appearances this season (19 in serie A and one in coppa Italia) and has an overall of 4 goals 1 assist. He's been on fire in recent games starting from that wicked bicycle kick scored against Italian champs Juventus and against Buffon. His goals have so far dragged Crotone to 14th place on the serie A table putting them five points clear of the relegation waters.

Now 6 goals in seria a games in 20 appearance

Simmy, Dessers, Sadiq and Kayode seem to be the contenders for an inclusion in the 30 man list. Who wins? I doubt more than 2 of them (if any) would get a look in.

Penalty-Box Predator Odion Ighalo Does It Again, Takes Tally To 6 Goals In 2 Games
Published: April 29, 2018

Former Watford striker Odion Ighalo is firing on all cylinders six weeks before the start of the 2018 World Cup after netting a brace in Changchun Yatai's 2-1 win against Shanghai SIPG FC on Sunday afternoon local time.

The Nigeria international bagged four goals in his team's 5-2 rout of Guizhou Zhicheng in the Chinese Super League last weekend, with all the goals scored from inside the box.

In the 14th minute, Ighalo beat the offside trap to sprint onto a through ball before firing past goalkeeper Yan Junling inside the 18-yard box but Wu Lei restored parity for the visitors four minutes before half-time.

On 69 minutes, the Nigerian attacker received a pass from Marinho from just outside the box, made two touches that took him to the penalty area before firing an stoppable shot with his right foot to give Changchun Yatai a 2-1 lead.

Following their third win of the new season, Changchun Yatai occupy the seventh position in the provisional standings with 11 points from eight games.

Ighalo has scored seven goals in eight games in the league, more than Argentina international striker Ezequiel Lavezzi (Hebei CFFC) who has six goals to his name.

I like this.....news.
it all means our strikers are doing well...

what we need now...is a very good Attacking midfielder who can help connect the midfield with the attack....we already have mikel...but we need someone else to support him....whenever he is not in the field of play....

Since there's no better option, then we go with what we have and play to his strength. It is that simple. No complications.

U just did what I feared u would do. When I made that post, I didn't callI for him to be dropped for someone else. Rather I meant he might not be this good at the world cup proper.

Mind you, that there is no one better than him, doesn't automatically make him consistent.

He ain't consistent though he is better than his rivals

Yes unless that bro,Simmy is not bad, 6 seria a goals might be small but crotone as a team doesnt score much goals.

He is the top scorer in ctorone team with 6 goals, they are also 2 other guys at 6 goals,so their 3 joint top scorers are 6 goals, the others 2 guys have played more games than him.

We are talking relative consistency. Let’s take consistency for what the word really is. Ighalo has been consistent lately. We want that to continue into the mundial proper. Consistency in goal scoring is what makes strikers relevant.

That’s the point. 20 apps makes it seem like he’s started many games and spent large spells of time on the pitch. Not the case with Simy

Simy Nwankwo with a goal for Crotone.

Crotone 3- 1 Sassuolo First Half

Modified: Simy with a brace. 3-1 Full Time!

Good one.

I think Rohr should also look his way since we are looking for 2 strikers.

Olayinka with a goal today, this guy really deserved to be looked into, seriously.

That's a good one. Keep it up.

His club and Ajagun's club are really pushing for the Europa League.

I think I will support Ajagun's club to get it because Peter might likely return back to his parent club next season. grin
