Simply put , when Thief Obasanjo came into power in 1999, the oil block was firmly in Nigerian ownership, he proceeded to illegally take the oil block from it's Nigerian owners and sell it to imperialists owned Shell oil company for almost no charge.

GEJ allowed the the imperialist oil firms to keep the oil block and he served his full term.

Now Buhari attempt to retrieve the oil block has meant Buhari has also suddenly fallen ill and likely to die.
